    Lyrics:
Now my life has gained some meaning
    since these sinful eyes behold
the sacred land with meadows greening
    whose renown is often told.
This was granted me from God:
to see the land, the holy sod,
which in human form He trod.
Splendid lands of wealth and power,
I've seen many, far and near,
yet of all are you the flower.
    What a wonder happened here!
That a maid a child should bear,
Lord of all the angels fair,
was not this a wonder rare?
Here was He baptized, the Holy,
that all people might be pure.
Here He died, betrayed and lowly,
that our bonds should not endure.
Else our fate had been severe.
Hail, O cross, thorns and spear!
Heathens, woe! Your rage is clear.

The crusades were a response to over a hundred years of Islamic conquest of Christian lands and people. They were a completely just undertaking. Lord give us the fortitude to withstand spiritual wickedness in high places and the strength to protect Christendom, now just as then. And give us the prescience to remember our past failings, and the enemies of Christendom's past transgressions, for it is certain doom to forget that the same peoples who opposed us for being Christians then, still do to this day, and it is our own undoing to forget this-- that they are not in grace, that they serve the machinations of the devil, and seek to subjugate, persecute, and eradicate us for our faith in Him.

Deus lo vult from Germany. I dont understand many germans who said that they can barely understand the lyrics given here. I am german as well and i can tell you,if you listen closely then you can of course make out the sense. The lyrics are about a crusader,he tells about his journey to Jerusalem and he feels honored that it was allowed to him to see the place where God walked as a man among us. The lyrics must be:

There's a reason why THIS recording of this classic medieval tune is so popular on CZcams. It is arguably the best rendition. The musicianship is excellent. The tight but not overwhelming authentic percussion, the driving, rhythmic guitar (or possibly bouzouki?) strummed, the wonderful bagpipe and recorder complimenting the melody....the fiddle in line with the manly vocals that sound like German knights chanting on their way to battle......my hat is off to the great folk musician that is Arany Zoltan and Co.

these cant be the lyrics... they rhyme in another language?
Now my life has gained some meaning
    since these sinful eyes behold
the sacred land with meadows greening
    whose renown is often told.
This was granted me from God:
to see the land, the holy sod,
which in human form He trod.
Splendid lands of wealth and power,
I've seen many, far and near,
yet of all are you the flower.
    What a wonder happened here!
That a maid a child should bear,
Lord of all the angels fair,
was not this a wonder rare?
Here was He baptized, the Holy,
that all people might be pure.
Here He died, betrayed and lowly,
that our bonds should not endure.
Else our fate had been severe.
Hail, O cross, thorns and spear!
Heathens, woe! Your rage is clear.
