- Combining machine learning with creative applications of sensors, Future Interfaces Group is trying to find the next ways we’ll interface with computers beyond our current modes of voice and touch. Key technologies whose interfaces are yet to be standardized include smartwatches, AR/VR, and the internet of things.

WOW!! Im a Interaction designer and I just found my favourite workplace... THIS ist AMAZING!
Sure privacy and such... but then look at all those echo owners... if they already have that these context aware tech would add zero additional surveilance but 100% value!
Great, now whenever I visit someone's house I need to learn a list of user-assigned gestures to control the interior. That's super helpful, and in no way worse than the "one universal remote" interface.
I'm happy with all this tech as long as it's not developed by Facebook.
Facebook will buy it or license it and sell the shit out of your private data.
Everybody are Facebook. Open your eyes
Who are those ppl disliking video?? This is a great work in techno world!
Glad to see that i'm not the only one still using a LG G Watch (W100) in 2019.
Amazing, Intriguing stuff.
Incredible! Please more like this
My dream future is to have more cameras and microphones everywhere I go and have that amazing feeling of being spied on every second for the rest of my life.
Wish granted
Only took 4 years@@whatisiswhatable
OMG Chris Harrison it's you! That's my RL friend's name, and I googled it a decade ago ago and came across this guy, Chris Harrison. His website was AWESOME and had so many cool papers on visualizations and stuff. I have them saved as pdf on some disc drive somewhere lol. Hi Chris, if you're reading this!
Big brother is watching you.
😂😂🤣🤣
this is so awesome :o
Wow lg g watch has been put to such a great use
I definitely need goole, FB and all agencies to know when I flush. So far I had to send emails - tedious, some mistakes on flush/double flush, but this looks promising! Keep up the good job
This is all really cool tech, but I can see that the privacy problem is only going to get worse...
CPUs are a lot stronger now that they should be able to do this locally
Like all technology it can be used for good or evil. And also for making people even more lazy. What a future we have.
the majority of people don't really care about privacy
boom boom "buy back my privacy" I'm afraid that's an issue as you don't know who has your data? Think every time you accept cookies etc on a site do you know every advertising business it goes to?
@@EpicMania18
If you're afraid of cookies, you're not doing a very good job of maintaining privacy to begin with. Just clear it whenever the browsing session is over and you're good
It's time to end typos, let me type with my brain.
What if there will be more mistakes because brain dont have auto-correct :P
@@JesiAsh Your fingers don't have auto correct either.
@@lawthirtyfour2953 u sure?
What if you don't know how to spell? We need a brain corrector. (getting creepy but OK)
@@sooprcoomr4828 Give me a brain corrector that teaches Japanese while you're at it.
This all seem like really awesome tech and extremely cool concepts and ideas. The only thing that worries me is what happen when good ideas and good intentions fall into the wrong hands. I also feel like this is a incubator for future military tech to used against people who don't falling into line but what do I know am just one person or am I.
The problem is how specific these solutions are
Man it'll be so cool to have nsa monitors in my kitchen
Carl CIFER you already are monitored in numerous ways so stop bitching.
well to be honest NSA don't really care what you have for breakfast or dinner😄 another thing is they receive is so massive that no human can really process it. so unless they trying to catch you for specific crimes they really couldn't care less what! you are doing. not saying that governments should know everything about us, no there should be restrictions but microphone in some kind of device is not necessary security risk. we carrying microphones in our pockets all the time and spend so much time with our smartphones. anyways being afraid of new technologies is totally normal.
I'm looking at starting a company for home devices.
Would you be more inclined to purchase a home device knowing that your privacy is protected?
Oh yes! A fresh new way to watch ads and give away even more personal and intimate information to salesmen and whoever else is interested 😅
"Low cost and practical..." that's really what stands in the way of wide scale adoption of interactive environments. Oh, and the whole privacy thing.
Where's the EEG technology or mind-reader technology to control technology with your thoughts.
Having a back touch panel on a phone could be useful, like the PsP
Cool!
The future is looking interesting
Governments and global corporations must be very excited with their research, 3 words... FUTURE FULL CONTROL... privacy... BE GONE!!!
A machine that can make you feel like your jumping around and kicking and tire you with vibrations and move you around to distort the bodily perception and anticipate what the subconscious is writing in rapid timing and paint in hyper realistic animaton
The last statement in this video should make you think deeply about the real purpose of such technology.
Time to start investing!
HCI is cool !
*Invasion Of Privacy* ?
Bello noob!😃
Bello?
@@icykenny92 Bello Pro!😃
There is no more privacy nice try
But when the computer knows your having fun in the bedroom.
what programming language they must be using?

No atter how far you go... Mouse will rule..
*BUT WHO SAID WE NEED THIS*
did anyone noticed the phone on 0:09. its completely bezel less and stunning.....
that arm based gesture thing actually exists. except that it sucks. go watch luke from ltt review of it. idk remember what its called. just search arm band ltt you should be able to find it
BIG BROTHHER IS HERE TO STAY ,AND GROW
i cant wait for my brain-computer interface implant to directly access all information and get superhuman intelecctual powers
Just scratching the surface...
That shit is just more complicated
love the tech but you don't get to compare always-on microphones and computer vision security cameras to cars
well always on microphones not recording everything you say unless you trigger it with hot words. not saying it's not possible but it really depends from company.
just fix the auto scroll to the top on reddit mobile app, thats all i need. scrolling for hours, only to be sent back to the top..
Scary shit

Can we somebody just train computers to camoflauage and jump around like spiders and fly and teleport..can somebody make computers more boroque ok n fashion and innterdimentionally energetic and vibrational in aesthetic for hardware???
from peniselvania :D, ps this is awesome good work
3:28 or snap to destroy half the universe
Quem aqui está pela Uninter 😂😂
we should eliminate all cars
So you're collecting information from users without their permission ... my goodness, you are sooooo disconnected.
Smart Watch will never be a hit... it does not look compelling at all.
Maybe implants if tech will be good enough.
I wouldn't rush saying that smart watches won't be a thing especially with coming foldable displays smart watches might look very different on our wrist. I could easily imagine it being something like your "wallet/authentication device" where you buy and confirm your identity with because it's always on you. I just don't think that round smart watches will stay round for very long time maybe few more year's.
Resistance is futile
I guess the resistance in the future could be small scale techies who make devices which are useful and all but prevents the transmission of data on devices. I guess new engineers should resist the internet of things. I don't think that there is any benefit in iot to comman people, its in the interest of big cooperation and gov.
Why not just read the minds.
ask the computer how many people are there ? then computer say there are 3 people but you can only see 2 persons !!!! spooky!!!
This sounds very dangerous.
I lasted 5 seconds before i came to the conclusion that i must leave. The speed that which this guy talks is probably not user friendly. Shame
I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I once visited CMU with my friend back in early 2017 to see cute Asian girls mmmmm! 😍😍😍
had fun?😄
people dont want to learn a new language... in this case it is sign language- gestures...
