- Hey Horse Lovers! TODAY WE WENT ON AN AMAZING ADVENTURE! WE RODE OUR HORSES ON THE BEACH FOR THE FIRST TIME. Michigan is known for being diverse with scenery and riding trails. Equestrians received a very special opportunity to ride up to 8 miles of the SILVER LAKE SANE DUNES in MEARS, MI for a limited time slot (membesr of MHC ONLY). The Michigan DNR, Michigan Horse Council, Jenny Cook, and many volunteers worked very hard to make this happen. We are so grateful to ride in tis beautiful location. STAY TUNED & Enjoy the RIDE!

I've become a huge fan of Free Spirit over the last few months, so I decided to go back and watch some of your older videos for even more horsey joy! I cannot even believe you rode horses at Silver Lake! This is my favorite place in the world, and the Little Sable Lighthouse is where I've requested my ashes to be flung when I die! It is a place of great peace and happiness for me. I discovered this place about 40 years ago when I was in my 20s. Riding horses on the beach is on my bucket list too, but the fact that you did it on my favorite beach? Over the moon! Thank you for taking me along on the ride!
The colors are spectacular! Pure Michigan. I have been so lucky to do this Shoreline Ride twice now. I was also able to have my husband join me and he was totally blown away. Jenny Cook the DNR and the Michigan Horse Council did a wonderful job. Hoping to make it this year as well. 🐎💗

This beach video reminds me of a dream that came true in the latter part of 1978 . As a child I allways dreamed of riding a horse on a beach.I met a woman in Jacksonville Florida who had horses and she asked me if I would like to accompany her on a beach ride, of course I said yes. One of the best days of my life!!!! I wish you and yours success in all you do.
Beach rides are great! I did a 5 day beach riding tour in Iceland three years ago and it was awesome. Your video brought back memories.

My Arabian loved the beach . I lived in North muskegon and rode to duck lake beach alot to ride and lake Michigan is amazing and swimming with them is incredible too. So much fun !

half a life time ago, when i was a teen, the stupid state of oregon was working on banning horses from the beaches. don't know if it ever happened, but they sure were trying. if i had a horse now i'd still go ride there...the rules be damned. damn it, now i'm crying. i miss beach riding so freak'n much.

That way you can train and teach others .
You can help them pick a horse at auction . and follow their progress
You can charge fees for your service .
That way you can keep

Teach others how to do what you do , thus help more horses and train others to do it to.

Fed two horses that were
Starving to death in a field
Me and another lady fed them for a year out of our
Own pockets , we hauled
32 gallons of water a day to them . I poured their water
3 times a day and fed them hay grain & got them salt block . we put fly spray
On them , treated their cuts .
And then one day I fed them
In the morning hay grain
Poured them fresh water
And I said see you this after
Noon . I went to care for them . and they were gone !
My heart broke , me and
The other lady cried together our hearts were
Broken ! We do not know
What happen to them .
I knew a little bit about the
Owner he knew we were caring for them . I even got
In touch with him about buying them. But we didn't
Work it out .
I never sat on their backs
I just cared for them and loved them because they
Needed us . they had no
Shelter no halters
No one to care for their feet
No vets all I could do
Is feed them and water them , care for their cuts
Keep the flies off of them
No blankets , just good rich
Food in the winter to keep them warm . I'd chip ice out
Of their water buckets
Refill with fresh I missed
Them so much .

I love that you have done this too! No, there is way to much risk and liability in buying auction horses and I don’t enjoy training other people’s horses. I prefer teaching lessons or doing my own training. When you involve others it just becomes more complicated. I’m doing what I’m meant to be doing I just don’t enjoy the selling process but right now that’s what has to happen, and it does make more room and time for the next horse when I sell. ❤️
