I was going through my stuff the other day and found the menu card for MRE menu 12 Ground Beef with Spiced Sauce (spaghetti) from the 1980's. I remember the best part of that MRE was the giant square chocolate chip cookie that came with it.
The only mre I had in the Air Force was the spaghetti with meat sauce. They gave us those when we ran the obstacle course in basic training.
The heaters they send always work well even with the added size versus the standard FRH. I agree though a lot of these are gimmicks with meals that leave more to be desired but the prospector is something I’ve bought time and time again. That one is my favorite. Love the golden packaging too. The “motherlode” is my all time best thing to buy when I can just to stock up. Great review!!
If Costco and Olive Garden can supply small packets of paremesan cheese, why can't they?
Shelf life problems. You have to refrigerate parmesan after opening. I think those would only last 3 years tops.
There was nothing here to recommend this version, and you saying that mil-spec components were superior really says something! as for the apocolypse survival, a 180 calorie main, even with the other components, does not inspire severe conditions survival...

Good afternoon from the Great State of Texas. I enjoyed your video. I would not have put the bread sticks in the meal. Bread sticks do not taste good to me at all. The meal overall looked really good. Keep up the good reviews.
I order from allmres every couple of months. The mre market looks brutal and difficult, so ya have to check back with what allmres have in stock. I think the best combo is Southwest Style Beef and Black Beans with Sauce, Cornbread, and the marshmallow-caramel Recovery Bar....

It wasn't great. AllMREs usually do make good stuff, but this wasn't their best.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were two of them: a very small batch, really fine, complete and tasty for propaganda purposes only; and the normal issue one, as cheap and simplified as possible, total crap. Just saying.
