Windows 7 crashes on an SMR hard drive. The image gets deployed to the hard drive normally. But after restarting when trying to boot from the hard drive I'm getting a BSOD. Is there a way to fix this issue? It seems like windows 7 doesn't understand how to communicate with an SMR hard drive. When I tried installing windows 8 the task manager showed 300-800ms latency. Windows 8.1 works on an SMR drive with little trouble on latency. But Windows 10 and 11 work normally. latency is around 15-120ms most of the time.

I did this and it worked out for a while... using a celeron G4920 (UHD 610 graphics), however, I recently upgraded the CPU to 9900k (UHD 630 graphics), and now I'm stuck on the boot screen... technically it does log in as I hear the login chime and can even open the MP3 on the desktop... and shut down by pressing alt f4 and enter and hear it shut down. The bad thing is that I have "deep freeze" installed and enabled lol, so any changes I make will be reverted on the reboot. I'm either going to have to navigate blind and do this, or, reinstall... ugh, and I don't have a spare thumb drive -_-... I wonder if I could technically do a video on how to navigate blind :P might be interesting.
