- Ryan found himself enjoying a dano 12 string way more than he expect, he even ended up playing it kind of 'ok'!

I had to smile when you said, "12 string plus fuzz, who knew?". I used a fuzz pedal with my Hagstrom 12 string back in 1967. It was just as much fun for me as you seem to be having!
Very rich, gorgeous sound ! It almost has a hypnotic effect...
best bang for the buck on a 12... they always have been.....great Link Wray riff...I had the pleasure of opening up for him..
Oooh, DID you use lube?
@@DMSProduktions Well... we did set up his guitar for him..so..yes.
@@seanhershey3390 LOL! NOT what I meant! ;o) (Especially with a name like HERSHEY!)
"12 string with fuzz is going to be the next hot thing"
Just look at Black Angels and King Gizzard.
It's been done since the sixties, half a century before the groups you mentioned. No offense. Cheers.
@@georgefromgreece4119 Huh? Any bands who do this? I know a lot who do overdriven 12 but not fuzz. Im not trying to be an asshole, I legit want more bands to listen to.
@@psychedeliccarrie5921 yes, no offense from me either! I have heard it in sixties bands. The Byrds have repeatedly done it for instance. Jim McGuinns' 12 string was run into a fuzz since only fuzz style distortion pedals existed back then. I also think Donovan did it in some albums. Incredible String Band, Grateful Dead, Country Joe... And a lot of minor garage groups of course. British beat groups like the Yardbirds, the Kinks and the Beatles did it too. And Syd Barrett in his solo albums, post Floyd era. It is no surprise... Twelve strings were really popular back then and fuzz boxes the drive pedals that got invented and produced first. Remember... Tubescreamers, overdrives, distortions came a lot later, during the early seventies, as an attempt to emulate overdriven tube amps. During the sixties, you only had: fuzz boxes, (treble) boosters, extra preamp stages, and cranked tube amps to create electric guitar distortion (and combinations of the above). Cheers!!!
@@psychedeliccarrie5921 and you also had modded/ holed/ torn guitar speakers ( Kinks for instance, Link Wray etc).
That sounds great man! Through the fuzz too, I would never have expected that to sound so good! Thanks Ryan, now I need a 12 string lol! :)
I have one of these and I couldn't agree more. The coolest sounds, easy to play, and top shelf fit and finish.
The neck and neck joint are able to handle the pull of 12 strings when left in standard E tuning (as opposed to having to tune down a 1/2 step or full step) ? Curious, as I'm not one to tune down as many 12 strings require.
Those lipsticks are amazing, i've got a 63 and a dano pro and they're superb, great for surf as well Ryan.
0:55 a wild Glenn Fricker appears.
Ficker! (German joke!)
Adrian Flores a wild Cribber appears, nice profile pic!
Great video I am a Danelectro dealer and I now want one of these for myself !!!
The crunch setting sounded real good. Liked it.
My black one arrives tomorrow. Can't wait to start having The Fun.
The bridge tone on this particular model sounds WAY better than the one in the other model. It has a chime to it. It’s actually pretty close to the Rickenbacker sound.
I just ordered mine today!! Totally stoked. I've played Dano 12s before and have always been amazed at how they play and sound.
Personally, id get a gretch for the filtertrons, but I hope you're enjoying!
What are filtertrons?
just ordered one in black. been playing guitar for 20 years but have never picked up a 12-string. pretty dang excited to play this thing.
as an owner of a Dano '59-12, I was intrigued by how well this new Dano 12 sounds. Looks like I'll need to upgrade! BTW, for cool sounding loud electric 12-string playing, I'd suggest listening to Roy Wood on The Move's "Shazam" album, particularly the songs "Hello Suzy" and "Cherry Blossom Clinic" .
Wow that sounds awesome, time to set it up to drop A# for fun~
That one looks like a winner!
12 string fuzz who knew?
idk? john dwyer-thee oh sees, stu mackenzie-king gizzard, tame impala, ty segall
This Electric 12 String Guitar is easier to play than an Acoustic 12 String because the action is lower, the neck is smaller, and the strings are lighter gauge and are under lower tension.
I never thought I’d dig a 12-string but damn!
For a split second i was hearing band on the run with the fuzz on
Man!! I want one now 😯
The fuzz sound is very " dirty ZZtop " sounding! 🎶🎸
ok that does it i’m buying one.
Did you get one?
I want one so bad it hurts when I pee.
David Good Me too
You MIGHT want to see a UROLOGIST!
DMSProduktions Or my nearest Danelectro Dealer!!!
@@davidgood6744 THAT too, but a painful bladder is a symptom of a much more serious condition than GAS!
1 of my guitarist friends started pissing RED! He had bladder CANCER!!!
"I burned for her, much like the burning sensation I would feel weeks later..." - Cosmo Kramer
Try reversing the courses like a Rick - I did that and can get darn close to the sounds of the Byrds, Beatles, etc.
Just got mine yesterday. I LOVE it...except the front strap peg is at the base of the neck and the guitar doesn’t hang right. Anyone have this issue?
Dammit Ryan! After getting the Silvertone 1449, I now have one of these on the way. Ha!
Sounds nasty with the fuzz!
Came here for the fuzzy 12 and stayed for the D&M from TPS in that back left.
Oh this might have to be my next guitar. Wish they made a 12 string Convertible.
What amp did you use? Sounds Awesome! I may buy one soon.
funny you dug the fuzz, back in the 90s... i had jammed with a few guys and the one dude played a fuzzed out dano 12 string tuned down to G it was incredible... and was that a monster magnet riff?
I'm torn between this and the 66...does the f hole affect the sound? Because other than that all the tech is the pretty much identical
Does it come in colors other than white or black? Would definitely buy one.
Anybody know what song he plays (or trys to play) at 5:59?
What’s the best 12 string electric under $1000 in your opinion ?
Dude, 12 string + fuzz. You've discovered a new thing.... Dammit, you're saying the exact same thing as I just typed it! ...I guess it means it's probably true. It's an awesome wall of noise. Billy Corgan is watching, going, "No waaay! Siamese Dream could've been conjoined triplets, or quads..." (to push an analogy too far, lol!)
But that is legit, a kick-arse guitar. Can I have it? You'll have to throw me that fuzz pedal too... 😏
Luke Needham all the fuzz came from the hx stomp
Hey is that Fricker in the background?
What fuzz pedal are you using? It sounded amazing.
two fuzz factory clones running in stereo in the line 6 HX Stomp
12 strings are fun as hell to play. I got a Cozart 12 strat for 139$ and love playing it. A DanElectro is next when I'm ready to sell the Cozart. They sound better with a compressor pedal. You get that chime ringing Byrd's and Beatles sound.
added a humbucker to the lips. Hass a switch for control on each !
Sounds fantastic. Not all that crazy about the look of it, but that's just personal aesthetic preferences.
Danos are ugly as sin.
The black one is best, looks just a *tiny* bit RIC-y. Trying to chose between this or the Artcore 12.
Danelectros are rarely lookers but they seem like good cheap reliable insteuments.
The neck p90 is so glassy
I had a Dan Electro double-neck 6:12 and I have played many many 12 strings and my double neck Danno whooped them all
John dwyer from thee oh sees plays 12 string with fuzz. Check em out ryan!
I really actually need a 12-string electric now. I went looking for this on the Amazon link. Thankfully it’s not the only one they make.
Nice pickup combination for sure. The guitar looks good to me. I just don't know why every guitar maker besides Rickenbacker goes with high strings on top. It's never "quite right" to me. I mean, let's see the most famous electric 12's in the world has low on top...let's do the opposite... I guess I can't call out Danelectro specifically for that since everyone does it, but you'd think someone would eventually get a clue and put them the "right" way around.
That's the common way for 12-string guitars. The Rickenbacker 360 was the exception: www.rorygallagher.com/#/archives/guitars/vox_12_string

Hey, your tuning please ?
1 min Ficker, I mean Fricker! LOL!
I have a Cozart 12 String Stratocaster
TRY the Harley-Benton 12 string electric! It's seriously nice~
He already has a video on it
@@andyfulton9603 Ok good oh! Didn't see it!
@@DMSProduktions nor did I !
@@malcolmhardwick4258 Well THAT makes 2 of us then!
Wayne Coyne did fuzz with 12 string ten years ago
“maybe twelve string with fuzz might be the next hot trend” is this a reference to king gizzard & the lizard wizard?
Glenn Fricker has been spotted in the wild.
Is this a bit easier to play than a Rick 12?
Much easier to play, yes! I love the Rick 12, but playing them both side by side, the Dano is so much easier to play
It is more fun that Rick 12 strings?
0:55 Spectre Sounds Studios walks up from the right.
👍✌🏻
I left at 2:07--UGH!!! "Come On Man"!!!!!!!!
Fuzz factory?
...than I expected. (Sorry Ryan!)
not with lipsticks ?
sounds like a plasma pedal
Why would anyone want the 59 with lipstick pickups over this model?
But you can only play "Turn!Turn! Turn!" with that....jk Dual lipstick humbucker, interesting, first time I've seen that.
jeronimo martinez fabregaz as well as "eight miles high" lol .
@@frankjuster8726 Well, let's just say that this guitar is definitely for the "Byrds"
@@jeronimomartinezfabregas it darn near sounds like a rick doesn't it ?
@@frankjuster8726 I suppose you mean like a Rickenbacker, I wouldn't know tho, not familiar with their sound
@@jeronimomartinezfabregas the byrds' signature sound is the rickenbacker 12 string 360 played by roger mcguinn , who traded in his 12 string acoustic for a ric right after seeing george harrison play one in the beatles' first film "a hard day's night'in 1964 . the following year the byrds cut their first single , bob dylan's "mr. tambourine man ''and the rest is history .
Unboxing $200 Squier Jazzmaster Affinity???
?
lie to hear your reveiw; sounds of this vs the 66-12
I'll bet I can get that sound with my POG and a chorus pedal.
Fuzz, really?
I think that fretboard is a bit dry
how can you tell?
60 Cycle Hum it doesn’t seem dark enough.
Sebastian Miller there are different colors of wood out there. Look at the ebony Taylor is using these days. Some of it is very light.
60 Cycle Hum interesting. I never thought it could be that light. I have a tele with a Pau Ferro board which had a similar color to the danelectro when I bought it until I oiled the fretboard which made it darker. That’s why I thought that maybe it looked dry.
Great sounding guitar, but that FX processor stinks.
Misalignment of neck pickup is not good.
Hate to be that dude, but Than*
Crackles too much 👎
Why do you guys always insist on putting distortion and fuzz on every guitar you demo? Can't you just play the instrument Without all that hocus pocus??? Jeez!!!
NO Sense to have a 12 string if you adding, rock, fuzz, distortion; can do that with any guitar !
Its a fucking guitar man you can do whatever you like with it. There are no rules.
I’d love to see the 66 12 string most of all but also the 66 baritone reviewed by you guys. Just saying.
