@@MostLikelyMortal Pretty sure hutch was into chess for more than a year now. I remember seeing him play chess way before. Im pretty sure he has been playing chess for at least three years now if not more. Hutch even knows and plays against some grand masters.

Edit: Also, XQC needs to relax and stop trying to find mate on every single move. The clock is unforgiving.
but thats literally the whole point of chess... you try and see if you can checkmate the king. Its just that he doesn't trust himself which leads to less time on the clock

Nakamura has been mentoring xQc, so that's where his focus is.
I’m team Hutch 100%, he’s the only person I’ve honestly know more than two things about. I’d love for them to give him more coverage, especially with his story around chess, but he’s definitely not the ‘personality’ that gets young people excited. So I guess it’s understandable they focus more on the more ‘exciting’ streamers. It’s unfortunate but still

Is it me or the commentators are clearly favoring xQc? They didn't even put hutch's cam/sound once.
Hikaru taught xQc a bit so maybe thats why? Or the fans prefer xQc's blunders? I don't really know what either.
Hutch has 343,000 followers on Twitch. xQc has 3,100,000 followers. That means that there are probably about 10 xQc fans watching the match for every Hutch fan. xQc is the second most watched streamer on Twitch.
Combine that with the fact that both commentators have coached xQc and it's not a huge surprise that they end up making it all about xQc.
I'd have liked to see the commentary a bit more balanced, but it's a reasonable decision to concentrate on the player that most of the viewers came to watch.
Similar to how TVs concentrate on the athletes from their own countries when they show the Olympic games.

@@sylver76 that's what fans are for, not the commentators. Having coached a guy a couple of times don't equate on rooting as if they were representing flags. Their attitude is wrong. Even on replay the unpopular don't learn as much about their play because analysis also favored the popular guy. Pff.
Many laughs too, are condescending (not just on this video). It just show how hot-headed they are, like when the Nakamura jerk recently called a tournament for himself on a semi, as if Dubov was just a nuisance, who ironically beat him. Commenting can be done a LOT better. They should root for chess, not a streamer - the streamer can do that for himself too, by the way.

I doubt that anyone reads this , but i have to say that Alexandra and Hikaru do a good job making these battles fun to watch .Commentary is awesome . I'm sure i will see all the videos . I'm basseled that 2 of the best players in the chess world are involved . This is a concept that to me works. 👍🙏🇳🇱
