So when Ludwig was stopped and a little confused on what move to make at 12:54, is there anything wrong with Queen to D2? Maybe not the most optimal play, but it covers rook, pawn, and bishop, doesn’t block the rook to F1 move for the future, and sets him up in the position Hikaru was mentioning earlier about Queen to D4 and going for checkmate. I’m a chess noob, but thought it might be a good move, just was never brought up by either Lud, Alexandra, or Hikaru. Thanks!
If Ludwig plays QD2 then Swiftor can play bishop H3, which takes the pawn. The pawn at G2 can't take back because it is being pinned by the queen to ludwigs kind.
Rf3 is probably a better move than Qd2. Qd2 is still probably winning for white due to his material advantage, but it allows Bxh3.
Also, about the mate threat, Black really shouldn’t worry about it. Just f6 would stop the mate threat.
