I really wish they would do one fibal film with Gibson, featuring old man Max on one last run.
That would be a billion dollar movie. That would rake in a lot of movie as long as they don't go down the Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny
They WAITED too long, And DIDNT make another one until Mel was old! TYPICAL hellywood that pack of clowns! +
Was telling someone this the other day and they scoffed and said that he's a racist and that it'll never happen.
@@AstralWalker33 Whoever you talked to were npcs. Garbage. +
@@AstralWalker33 everyones a racist these days 😂
Bring back Mel Gibson, he is the definitive Max.
Correct
He is Max. I wasn't totally buy Hardy as Max
@@swamisalami3000indeed, there can only be one
I like Tom Hardy and he could have done a better job if they let him and gave him more to do. I blame that bad performance on the writing/directing of woke George Miller. But yes Mel is the best.
Be a old Max now mate
You 100% need to see this in a theater. The bass from engine rumble alone is worth it.
Even if this film is good, I can't get past the fact that we didn't get Max in a Mad Max film (Fury Road).
Did you watch it. He's in it
He is there, in the timeline. suggest you watch it first.
@@MuchCow9000 He obviously means more than a cameo.
@@MuchCow9000 for 3 seconds
I think the realtime under performance of furiosa at the boxoffice tells more of how fans really think of this movie.
I don't believe all this CZcams praise of this movie. It's not registering with my experience in watching this movie. Meh is the appropriate review
I liked it. Fury Road was better but always happy to see George Miller visit this world.
You notice the guy that played slit in fury road was playing Scrotus in this?
@@ComradeCommissarYuri Oh, they brought a lot of folks back.
@@ComradeCommissarYuri I like how there were characters from the 2015 video game as well, which is apparently 100% canonical.
I keep seeing channels like yours speaking well of the movie but most comments on them are like they can't be bothered, have no interest even if the movie is not woke... they just are tired of female lead movies or prequels or spinoffs.
…. I personally don’t mind Prequels/Reimaginnings/Spinoffs etc.
My belief is that many don’t….mainly because Hollywood has taken advantage of Popular Franchises ruined them & customers have lost trust.

@@Peer165 …..Exactly

Thank you for giving this a real review and not bitching out because there’s a girl in it like some sad cases online.
I heard that Ana Joy Taylor got to keep one of the mechanical arms, and Hemsworth kept his motorcycle. I really want to see it. Hemsworth just got his Hollywood star. Also Hemsworth's father was a biker in the original Mad Max. Variety put a 30 minute video on YT. Robert Downy Jr. is there giving a small, funny speech. Thank you Mr. H!
I want to see Hemsworth drive the motorcycle through an office building while swinging a bloody mace and screaming about how Aqua Cola is bad for Human consumption.
I heard you're gay
Is her name Ana or Anya?? I always thought it was Ana but according to the official internet sites its always been ANYA!! Is this a bizarre Mandela Effect or something??

That truck fight scene in the middle of the movie is epic
I thought it was Great! A little long, but beautiful world building and character structure as well. George Miller directed it with the gusto of a 30 year old filmmaker. Loved the Mad Max cameo. Cheers!
Your a fool.
@onojioboardwalk9748, and your a looser 👍🏾
“It was great but doesn’t watch it in theatres” lol i watched it free online
It was awful. +
Wtf spoilers 🤦🏻♂️
I saw it Thurs night. It was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed it. Hemsworth killed it, he does a great job with his character and its great to see him take something on and shed Thor. Anya Taylor Joy was fantastic and nails the acting with her expressiveness since she doesn't have much dialogie. The action was awesome. They expanded the world. Can not wait to be able to watch this as a double feature. Furiosa right into Fury Road is gonna line up so great.
I actually liked it more than Fury road and I love that film. The characters and world building was great and Chris Hemsworth was an awesome villain. I was also impressed by the actress that played young Furiosa.
I went in thinking that id be silly to hope for another film that I loved as much as fury road, but I was confident i was going to like and enjoy it. I left the theater grinning, telling myself shit I love that about as much.
Fury Road was very forgetful to me other than a little glimpse of crazy long action sequences, don't remember what happened much in it too, kinda mess. Whereas in case of Furiosa, there was so many memorable moments and loved the character development too. It was structure very well with chapters and I'm not saying this because of i just watched it recently.i'm very sure i'll remember Furiosa for many years.
After watching Furiosa I sadly had the exact opposite reaction to yours.
Everything looked really clean. It seemed like bad post apocalyptic cosplay.
That’s likely a byproduct of the new ultra HD cameras everybody uses these days. I prefer the look of the older 35mm cameras from the 60s, 70s, 80s, they give more of a cinematic, gritty, surreal look to films.
Fury road was pure, high octane, adrenaline filled insanity. Furiosa was basically a much calmer version of Fury Road....purely because of a lack of a heart pumping, adrenaline inducing soundtrack
So, it also sucks and has less action?
@@logangodofcandyName me one better high octane practical action/chase movie than Fury Road?
@@Peer165Furiosa

I loved the world building and how Furiosa's story was written.

I get chick's need lead roles but mad max is about max why not show where he was before furry road I honestly don't care where fouriosa was
Fury road wasn't mad max. Max wasn't in that film. Some other character named Max was in a movie unrelated to mad max
@@logangodofcandy max was definitely in furry road who do u think the main character is they even mad a video game about it
@@logangodofcandy and if u remember the beginning of the movie the little girl says max is that u if it's not max who is is it
@@logangodofcandy and the title latterly say mad max furry road
Mad max is now about the world and things/people within it. It's about how the world drives people mad.
I think you do need to see it on the big screen for the truck chase alone.
Demintus was a great villian role. The scene where they are told to pick a warboy, was epic. Alot of great scenes
How about and this might be very controversial but hear me out......... they make a Mad Max movie about Mad Max.... I know, it's controversial but it just might work.
Neither of these films is a mad max film. They could have called them anything else, called the "mad max" character Bob or whatever and it would have been the same movie.
You need to be in movie making. Pure genius dude
🤔 hey you might actually be on to something, but that will definitely be super controversial though, that'll be like making a Superman movie, about Superman, and we all know nobody wants to see that.
@@rdf4315 that wouldn’t solve the problem. Truth is that people don’t really go out that often anymore. Streaming and social media is the real killer
@@arnemyggen what you say is true, but the real killer is d e i and identity politics, actors that don't know how to shut the hell up and just make movies, and studios and corporations that demonize their consumer base, while also catering to a customer base that don't exist, that's why people do not go out and watch lots of movies anymore, because they don't make movies for them anymore, the last Spider-Man movie and Deadpool 3 are the only movies that has been made for the fans.
Not as good as Fury Road
Fury Road sort of came out of nowhere really that's what gave it it's cutting edge.
Furry Avenue is a good film 🎥 albeit a porno 😕
@user-fj5fb8sh7d your mother did the same to me with them beautiful lips of hers
It never had to be.
Fury road had a video game like format. It was one large chase movie. It was simpler than furiosa.
It didn't ask as much from the audience that furiosa is. Furiosa is asking too much investment of our patience and time .
I watched fury road just before going to cinema to see Furiosa.
Definitely more overt CGI in Furiosa which dulled it a little.
Also, most of the potential gore is left off screen… some of which would have really upped the impact of certain scenes.
Dementus starts off awesome but I didn’t really like where they went with his character by the end of the movie 🤷🏼♂️
Furiosa does enhance the scope of the wasteland, which is awesome.
It was a really good movie… but it lacks the viscera of fury road, probably due to deliberately avoiding a similar production ‘nightmare’.
It all seems safer, nicer and has less ‘holy fk that was amazing!’ moments.
Love your reviews. You’re fair and honest. Thank you for the review.
I think I’m just female lead fatigued these days
Garbage, Failed-sequels. +
I wasn’t convinced by the skinny female lead. Charlie’s was a better furiosa.
You can thank Disney for that
I'm sick of "hear me roar" girl bosses
Female leads only work in action if they can and will get their asses handed to them when they don't have a huge edge.
---> *_Not a word on how great the little girl was?_*
I would say for anyone that wants another mad Max movie go see it in theaters Support movies like this so we can get more of them.
These last two “Mad Max” movies have both been Furiosa movies.
So no, I’m not gonna be supporting or encouraging this hacky panderfest with my money.
@@Cybrix It's ok, everyone forgets how integral Max was in Fury Road.
If it wasn't for Max going back to the rear of the rig and hooking up the hydraulics, the War Party would have caugh up to them in the canyon.
If it wasn't For Max, the war rig wouldn't have made it out of the canyon.
Max was defending the War Rig just as much in the scene, shooting AND driving at the same time.
If it wasn't for Max, they would have got stuck in the bog at night and the entire war party would have caught up, he left explosives in the tracks knowing they'd be following.
Max took out the Bullet Farmer and his guys by himself.
Max stopped all the women from being retarded and driving out into the salt plains and gave them a new plan.
The list goes on and on.
But sure...Fury Road was a Furiosa movie...Only the first movie has ever fully focused on Max remember.
The success of fury road opened the door to shove max further down in importance. So so it's a weird situation this franchise put itself in. I don't think supporting furiosa is going to help mad max the character unfortunately.
You had me at Scrotus. Say no more lol
One of the most badass movies I've seen in a while. I have a weak spot for all of the ratrods on steroids. METAL AF.
I only like Mad Max and Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior, it was a perfect story arc with awesome ending.
The 4K's are stunning.
All dowhill since and I really don't see all the fuss over Fury Road.
Thunder dome was awesome
Road Warrior and Fury Road are the two best in this franchise. I do have a soft spot for the original however.
@@Peer165 Nothing will ever top Road Warrior for me, it's easily the most grounded of the lot, used to hate Thunderdome as a kid but have come to enjoy it a lot more rewatching it once I got older, appreciated it more.
Agreed Fury Road was not Mad Max but crap in a Mad Max suit trying to be Mad Max.
If you want to see this in theaters then go to one with a solid sound system cause the engines sound amazing
I bought advance tickets for the best theater in town later tonight. The last film I went to a theater to see was "Fury Road" 9 years ago, as movies are typically crap today but for George Miller I will go.
Hemsworth’s prosthetic nose was an overkill and looked obv fake. Scrotus should have been given more screen time
I was surprised Scrotus wasn't killed as he isn't in Fury Road. At least I can't remember him.
Chris Hemsworth is over rated.
Thor is the best stuff he will ever do in his career.
@@kev30631 He carried this movie though. Without him there wasn't really a single charismatic performance or character.
@@JurassicRod how about furiosa's mother. She was completely relentless and a force for the time she on screen.
Chris Hemsworth was .......Chris Hemsworth. I didn't get anything out of him.
@@kev30631 Yeah the mother was fine. But other than fighting I didn't get much from her. Chris was chewing up the scenery. Not like I thought he was Oscar worthy or anything. Just entertaining in a film I found a bit flat.
To be fair, Hemsworth showed his acting chops and range beyond Thor long ago. Rush springs to mind. He had me convinced that he was James Hunt. That's coming from someone who hero worshipped Hunt as a kid over 5 decades ago and was incredibly sceptical at Hemsworth being cast as him when he was first announced for the role.
It's Richtus "Erectus" H lol! Good review! Decent film I watched it in imax, no Fury Road but good!
Just seen this in my local theater and I must say it was a blast with a good sound system!
I want to see Furiosa. I have all the Mad Max movies on DVD.
Scrotus....and rectus.....right in the middle of a bench press set and you said that and I rolled on the floor. Thanks Mr H
As long as it's good.
Just seen it,absolutely brilliant👍🏼
Theres a ton a weirdly forced hype around this really meh action movie...
The acting is really really poor. And the world looks cheap kinda like some of the shots in the Fallout series the way modern filmakers have sets built or filmed is weird now.. they look so fake its takes you out of the story... whats up with that lately?... Disney does this too alot. Especially with the Mandalorian... one scene it'll look good and the scale, detail and lighting and color are all quite realistic... then in another scene it looks like a silly fan film and everything looks like cheap styrofoam and plastic.
The worst culprit so far has been The Rings of Power. You'll get whiplash from the unpredictable quality. That whole show was a dumpster fire though to be fair...
You are 100 percent correct. I had the same feeling. Cost cutting? Really takes you out of it
I’m with you, from what little Ive seen the cgi and effects aren’t up to the standards of the last movie (fury road).
It might be because of the ultraHD cameras everybody uses now. Everything is too clear, you can see too much detail. Old 35 mm cameras hid a lot of the rough edges of sets.
I've noticed the same in movies the last few years. How did CGI get worse? I miss sets and practical effects, costumes and real locations.
@@SR-ob3wn Thats no excuse for people claiming to be professionals...
I really enjoyed this just like Fury Road. Saw it twice!!! 🎉🎉🎉
The polecats in the original fury road were under-matched by the biker gang and plane fights in the new furiosa
Just seen it and was impressed, great film and I was surprised at the Easter eggs in it to the Mad Max game that came out years back with some links to characters and locations..
I wish the background score of furiosa was as good as fury road.
I’ve been a long time subscriber and I’m glad I watched your review first because all these other channels have a toxic reception from this movie and I think the movie was brilliant. I already went to go see it twice. And I can say that it’s definitely worthy going into my Mad Max collection. It gets the seal of approval. I think George Miller just continues to get bigger and boulder with his storytelling and you get a more broader sense of the world that he’s created.
MR H has honest reviews. Love t hat.
I have to see it again!Amazing!
great film and cinematic experience.
Man i really wanted to see the spinning ball and chain on the war rig used a lot more, the few scenes where they do use it they cut away from all the crazy violence and gore. I still liked the movie a lot, I'm also a little bummed that the first mad max movie we got in 9 years was a prequel
This movie is…… not about mad max at all , so why use his name, just call it Furiosa( another chick kicking everyone’s ass) that would have been a better title
Nope ...she got her own ass well and cruelty kicked..maybe stay awake.
Because its set in the Mad Max series?
Did you even watch the movie? Furiousa gets beaten down by the harsh reality of the wasteland before her revenge arc.
@@AntonVattay Well, good for her. Lol, I’m sure it’s a decent movie, I just can’t really get behind a female protagonist,, wait that didn’t sound right. 🤷🏻♂️
You would be really bad at marketing.
I thought Anya was too small and slender to carry an action role, I just didn't buy her in the role.
Furiosa was awesome loads of nods to "The Road Warrior"
indeed. Praetorian Jack was a great nod and image to the original trilogy and Mel Gibson version of the character, so much so that I was actually convinced for a while that he was actually supposed to be the Gibson version of the character, but it doesn't seem like it was in the end.
Where's Mel
I want to see Mr Gibson again
One last time please
Mad Max dig out the leathers
No😊
he would not last 80 days in the desert.
Scrotus was in the Mad Max game, great game too.
I watched Fury road again after seeing this today and it made me appreciate the lore and world building so much more. Great film. Definitely more violence in Furiosa which was a bit of a change from FR.
Old skool,big screen entertainment,go see👍🏼
I quite enjoyed the film thought it was good, i give it a 7/10
Watching it today at London bfi imax
I loved it, though it has its flaws
Have to disagree, Mr. H. It's about a C for me. Too much CGI, Furiosa is essentially a tag along character for 2/3 of the flick, it drags for 20 minutes too long, and her revenge is pretty lame. The best character by far was Pratoreon Jack, who feels like he's essentially playing the role that should have been that of Max. I would have been much more interested in his story and his lore. That was a character worth exploration.
A Mad Max movie without Mad Max? 🤦🏻♂️🤪
It's called a spin-off..
Another one that can't read a movie title...really is no hope.
It's the second straight mad max movie without max in it. Fury road was a trash calling itself mad max. It was a complete bait and switch and now the series is dead.
@@cameronzwicke5761I wouldn’t say that.

The list goes on and on.
Everyone forgets that the only Mad Max movie that fully focused on Max, was the original 1979.
Enjoyed the film. Happened to watch Fury Road ahead of the screening, and it affected how I saw the events in Furiosa. Mel Gibson's trilogy is, obviously, what Mad Max is, but it's good that these two films managed to show that there is a world beyond what Max Rockatansky sees (Fury Road), and succeeded in fleshing out that world (Furiosa).
I liked the Menu.
I was disappointed. Furiosa is like a good B-movie leading up to the main event (FR). It'll make for mildly interesting watching on Blu Ray on a Sunday afternoon, but to be honest unless it imparts some vital new information needed for the next film I don't know why it was made. The new young leads don't have the physicality or gravitas of Theron and Hardy, and I feel it suffers for a lack of music...
Any post credits scenes?
I went thinking it would be woke as fuck but turns out it was FUN! I enjoyed it. It was fucking amazing! I loved it!
Fury road was like a music video? Idk how anyone could make that comparison, there wasn't a lot of dialogue so the music was used as a way to directly convey the tone of certain scenes. That was the beauty of it same with any movie John Williams, Hanz Zimmer or John Powell orchestrated the music is almost a secondary character in itself
Just watched it made me feel like Hemsworth wasted his career playing Thor.
Have you seen extraction

It could have made max shit but instead it just did it's best to explain why Charlize Theron kicked so much ass.

It's not, its total dogshit.
I expected to hate this movie, but I didn't..not gonna go into detail but my only gripe was for some strange reason the main action sequence is half way through the movie..leaving you expecting a grand and epic 3rd act which never materializes.
It's bombed.
The thing is Fury road was just using Mad Max to steal his franchise from him for a female lead in Furiosa....I'd have preferred a proper Mad Max reboot sticking to MAX his families demise and how he just survives. Loved the originals, the first two anyway.
Loved this film!
It's great, a must see if you're a fan of the Mad Max movies. Perhaps not quite as impressive as Fury Road, but not far behind. Furiosa's back story is certainly traumatic, and her character arc and portrayal by Taylor-Joy was perfect. Tom Burke was excellent as a character not unlike Max, and for me made up for the absence of Max. Hemsworth hammed it up a bit and as the main villain Dementus should have been less comical, especially as the film has some quite dark moments not seen since The Road Warrior. The only other fault is there's more use of CGI and some of it looks substandard. Overall though very much enjoyed it.
Saw it, loved it.
I think the name "Mad Max" should have been left out of the main title, seeing as so many people seem to feel as though they're victims of a bait-and-switch (yes, i know that would be less of an interest hook, but at least there's less chance of accusations of dishonesty).
Also, it IS a big screen movie (the War Rig/vehicle-based action sequences are worth this alone).
Movie has nothing on Fury Road, Chris Hemsworth holds this film up..
Love the narrative of this
Moving forward, I would absolutely love to see Mel Gibson come back to this world in the role of bad guy.
My only complaint is that this movie should have been first before Mad Max Fury Road…… but it was good movie and I enjoyed it. :)
Its so funny how the other channels are dumping all over this film as another girl boss flick which screams they haven't seen it, because its ANYTHING but! Hey, Its their loss, I thought it was great, set up more lore, set up Fury Road, and Hemsworth was awesome in it! In three months when they watch it on streaming, they'll come back and be like," yeah I was wrong on this, shoulda given it a watch in the theaters..."
Or we just won't bother at all because Fury Road wasn't a true Mad Max movie but was trash trying to be Mad Max. And people are just not giving a damn anymore.
H did you catch that the guy playing Scrotus also played Slit in fury road?
I thought that was him.
To those complaining how it's not as good as Fury Road ... Yeah, no shit it's not as good as one of the best action films ever made.
I'm not supporting a film that's trying to replace the Mad Max in his own franchise.
It isn't. Max is in this movie
Seems like you litterally don't know anything about this movie nor George Miller's intentions with it. It's a spin-off prequel and not the official sequel to Fury Road. Max is NOT getting replaced.
You fucking nimrod, you have no idea, this is a one and done situation, we are unlikely to see Furiosa again. The next film on the roster is literally called Mad Max: The Wasteland, which according to Miller has no Furiosa and focuses on Max before Fury Road.

I absolutely adored this movie, what a blast.
I just went to see Furiosa today. I liked it, it was entertaining, but I think it had a few narrative problems and requires you to have seen Mad Max Fury Road, which is still the best movie in the series.😁
Worst movie in the series, Fury Road was not Mad Max. It was trash trying to look like Mad Max.
