- Hey Friend, We are bring back eating together as a family this fall. I'm preparing a warm, hearty meal to share and a sweet treat. This good habit got pushed to the side over the busy months and we miss it! The world is a bit chaotic right now and simple habits like being intentional about spending time together while at the dinner table bring some normalcy and peace into our home.
We are making some Cheeseburger Soup, Pretzel Bread Bowls and Apple Butter Cinnamon Rolls for Dinner. I also have a sweet Fall Lantern Craft to make for our dinner table with the kids.
Thanks for joining me,
Kelsey

Kelsey you are wise beyond your years. I can’t tell you how much your words helped me today. We are the gatekeepers and I needed to hear that more than you know. We all just need to continue to pray for peace and love each other. I have a son in the navy so my anxiety is high these days. God bless you and your family.
Praying for your Son Cindy! I can imagine how worried you must be.
Will keep your son in thoughts and prayers!
"Don't abandon your post, you are the gatekeepers of your home". I so loved that Kelcy. It brought a tear to my eye and a reminder to my heart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your heart during this heavy time.
Mantel display looks wonderful
Aw thank you! 🤍🤍🤍 I’m loving the colorful pumpkins ☺️
Todays video touched my heart....between the music and the calm of your voice, your encouragement came thru. We are empty nesters, but I still try to make my home peaceful and seasonal. My husband said yesterday (after I decorated a kitchen window) , he is so thankful for me because i bring beauty into the home.... Blessings to you Kelsey... I pray for complete healing for you
Hi Kelsey! You truly are a Proverbs 31 woman, wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend!
Such a beautifully peace filled video. As always when you post a special video like this one, I cry happy tears!
Blessings to you and yours ♥♥♥
Aw thank you Vicki, you always bless me 🤍 I appreciate you so much friend ❤️
Tears. Many, many tears. Thank you for the encouragement. I have been feeling so defeated, but you are right, this is how we empower ourselves. I will not abandon my post.
Hugs 🤍 I’m so glad it encouraged. You’re not alone, we just have to keep doing the next right thing ❤️ Blessings
Oh Kelsey, this video in so many ways, has filled my heart today, starting with the beautiful autumn scenery. 🧡
Your desire to bring time around the dinner table back has been an encouragement to act on my own conviction to do the same. With produce still on the table I am reminded everyday to get the preservation wrapped up and reset that space. How easily I can become complacent with sitting in front of the tv with our meal.
Seeing the children making the lanterns with you was so sweet. It took me back MANY years to when I would find fun, seasonal things to do with my children. I just got rid of some jars that had chips and now I’m wishing I hadn’t done that. No problem though, I have plenty of jars and I know my crafty 10 year old granddaughter will enjoy doing this project! Her dad and my hubby along with another very dear longtime friend will be off hunting next weekend. I see an afternoon with all the girls left at home being creative with this project 😉
The cinnamon rolls looked amazing and what a wonderful description Matt had about them! They looked delicious even on the tv! When you started to roll out the dough and before you mentioned Heather’s technique, I was thinking about the parchment paper lol.
You couldn’t be more correct in the heaviness of the world. But even more so, in your encouragement to stay the course. I have relied heavily on John 14:27 and John 16:33 (which is on my window sill right now). Thank you for sharing and being a light in a space that can be chaotic. Times are tough and are likely going to get harder. Praying for peace and contentment and for hearts to be turned back to God. God Bless you sweet Kelsey!
Lovely video! There are lots in this world that are distressing. Giving it to God and doing what you can to create peace and joy for your family is so important. Those two little children do not have to know all that is wrong with the world. Let them know peace and joy as well as a sense of security along with good food and love.
I really loved this video. I so appreciate your encouraging words. Its nice to hear another mother feeling the same way as me.
I’m so glad, you’re not alone 🤍🤍🤍
Those Lanterns are absolutely the Best!!! Such a easy and cute idea for kiddos.
We really enjoyed them and the kids love lighting them up each night!
Kelcey, you so eloquently said what so many of us needed to hear. Our world is on fire and finding peace is difficult sometimes. ❤
Thank you, I'm so glad it spoke to you! Blessings
You are just what I needed today ,I was feeling that this crazy world so overwhelming.I watched you and I feel joy in family and simple things .Thank you
I'm so so glad! Blessings
Your best video ever!! I've watched for a long time and this was very powerful....our kitchens are a place of love and time standing still for just a while!! Thank you Kelsey! there is so much more to you than I ever knew....Love your posts!
Love the message and scripture.
Thank you 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you so much for listening to the Lord and helping to spread His peace amongst this chaos! Some of my most fave verses that have gotten me through some of the toughest times. Praying blessings to you sweet sister in Christ💚
Homemade Ketchup: Ingredients: 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes, ½ cup water, divided, ⅔ cup white sugar, ¾ cup distilled white vinegar, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, 1 ¾ teaspoons salt, ⅛ teaspoon celery salt, ⅛ teaspoon mustard powder, ¼ teaspoon finely ground black pepper, 1 whole clove. Directions: Pour tomatoes into slow cooker. Swirl 1/4 cup water in each emptied can and pour into the slow cooker. Add sugar, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, celery salt, mustard powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and whole clove; whisk to combine. Cook on High, uncovered, until mixture is reduced by half and very thick, 10 to 12 hours. Stir every hour or so. Use an immersion blender for about 20 seconds to smooth the texture of the ketchup. Ladle ketchup into a fine strainer and press mixture with the back of a ladle to strain out any skins and seeds. Transfer strained ketchup to a bowl. Cool completely. Taste and adjust salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper as desired. Homemade Bisquick Baking Mix Ingredients: 4 cups all-purpose flour 2 Tbsp. baking powder 1 ½ tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar ½ cup melted butter (you can use shortening if you don’t want to refrigerate your mix if you prefer) Directions: 1. In a stand mixer combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well mixed. 2. While mixer is going slowly pour melted butter into bowl to distribute evenly. If you are using shortening, cut in the shortening. 3. Allow to mix for 1 full minute. 4. You can mix this by hand, and I have, but I find using my stand mixer gives it a more even distribution- especially the butter. This will give you more consistent results in your baking. 5. Transfer to an airtight container like a mason jar or freezer bag and store in refrigerator or freezer for 3-4 weeks. Homemade Bisquick makes 1 cup Ingredients 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon butter Directions Sift flour into a bowl; add baking powder and salt and whisk until fully incorporated. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry cutter until evenly combined. Tips: Shortening or oil can be used in place of butter, if desired. If using melted butter, be sure to evenly disperse the butter as much as possible. Make your own Hamburger Helper: Prep Time 5 minutes, Cook Time 20 minutes, Servings 4 people Ingredients 1 teaspoon corn starch or arrowroot powder, or flour 2 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni Instructions: Mix ingredients together in a bag or jar. Cooking Directions When we are ready to make, brown up 1 lb. of ground beef in a 10 or 12 inch skillet. Add in the mix and 1 cup water and 2 cups of milk. Cover the skillet and let the pasta simmer and cook until the pasta is done. Try not to boil the mixture too hard or you may not have enough liquid. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese before serving. That's it! or Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef, 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, 1 Tablespoon paprika, 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder, 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder, 1 ½ teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, ½ teaspoon black pepper, 2 cups hot water (or beef broth or chicken broth), 1 ½ cups milk, 2 cups dry cavatappi pasta or macaroni noodles, 2 cups grated cheddar cheese. INSTRUCTIONS: Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, then add the ground beef and break it up, cooking and stirring until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any remaining fat in the pan. Sprinkle the cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, sugar, and pepper over the browned meat and stir well to evenly distribute the spices. Add the hot water, milk, and pasta, then bring to a boil. Cover with a lid, reduce heat and simmer for 8-11 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the cooked pasta and stir until melted into the sauce. Remove from the heat, and let stand for a few minutes until the sauce thickens a bit. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired, then serve. #2. Make your own Condensed Cream of soups using broth, milk and corn starch: such as: CREAM OF CELERY SOUP: 5 Pints WATER, 3 C. CELERY, CHOPPED FINE, 1 TBSP. BUTTER, 1 TBSP. FLOUR, 1 C MILK, celery salt or extract, salt & pepper to taste, 1 cup milk, scalded. Cook the celery in water until very tender, drain. Melt butter in saucepan and stir in flour; slowly add in milk and cook till thick. Rib celery through a sieve, add to milk mixture. Add celery salt or extract and salt & pepper. Simmer 10 minutes. Add the hot milk just before serving for a rich delicious soup.
Thanks for the scenery. Not sure if that was my mountain I love but it sure looked like it! I long to be back in PA so bad, so thank you for sharing that! Lovely video as always, so peaceful and calming. Nice craft with the children too! All the food looks really delicious as well! Blessings!
Your words are a blessing. Thank you
God bless you and your family Kelsey. You are a blessing to many… 🙏❤️
Thank you so much!
VERY ENCOURAGING WORDS, THANK YOU. DINNER LOOKS GREAT
Thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍
Loved this video! Your sweet spirit is always so calming and the idea of getting back to ‘dinner together’ really spoke to me. I smiled too watching your kiddos doing the craft with you- I’m sure it’ll be a sweet memory for them. I told my hubby, “If I knew this girl, we’d definitely be friends”.
I love the encouragement - don't abandon your post. ❤
🤍🤍🤍
Wonderful video. Great message and Yummy food. We had a mass shooting in our state and I'm feeling the need to quiet myself and spend family time. Nice to know that we all need this.
Beautiful and timely. Thank you.
Blessings to you too. I’m new to your channel and I’m enjoying watching you cook.

What a cute little lantern project!
Thank you 🤍
Your video was such a blessing. Thank you🙏
Kelsey loving the craft lanterns, a foraging field trip with the kids makes them personal and a beautiful addition to your table. Your bread bowls were amazing and I could almost smell and taste your cinnamon rolls from here 😜 perfect reset after a trip❣
Thoroughly enjoyed. Blessings
This video was absolutely wonderful!!! Your dinner turned out amazing!!! God bless you and your family! 🍁🧡🍂
Thank you friend
@@seedandsparrowhomestead you’re welcome.
Thank you for the peaceful message!!
I really enjoyed this video, while working in my kitchen🥰! I am going to make your cheeseburger soup, looks easy & delicious. I have given up trying to keep my tablecloths clean, so I decided several years ago to just cover the clothes with a heavy duty clear plastic so I can still see them but wipe the table down. Oh and I absolutely love the lanterns💖
Do you play the piano? The music was so perfect for a peaceful and homey family meal together. It looked warm and inviting to sit around the table and he encouragement you brought to me was welcome - thank you so much.
I do play piano! I actually went to college for piano performance although I rarely get the time to play anymore. Every once in awhile I’ll sit down and enjoy a few pieces. Thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍
Blessings to you as well… absolutely heartwarming video!!
Thank you so much! 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you for this.🙏🏻❤️🥹
Your kitchen is darling! Dinner looked delicious. I’ve found myself overwhelmed with all going on and I used to make bread. I think I will start back because it’s therapeutic and yummy. ❤
Thank you so much! Bread making is seriously therapeutic, and most definitely yummy!
Thank you for all you share !......Kathy😂❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome! thank you for watching
I love the lanterns. I made strawberry rolls with cream cheese frosting one year. My family loved them! I'll have to give apple ones a try.
Oh strawberry rolls sound lovely! Thank you for watching!
I love your statement about adding all the cheese because I was wondering what you were going to do. Sadly I keep velvetta on hand in the winter because I haven’t found anything either so I call that my convenience food to avoid hope it is better than eating out. 🤷🏻♀️ Can’t wait to hear if you find a replacement. I super want to make those pretzel bread bowls. I have made pretzel bites to dip in soup but never a bread bowl. I really want to try pretzel sandwich buns. My family would revolt if I made anything but regular cinnamon rolls 😂 your looked yummy!
Lovely video. ❤
Happy birthday sweet Eleanor! Thank you for this encouragement today. I stay in prayer over the sadness that surrounds us & our world. I will as you suggest, put it in Gods hands. ❤
Thanks you
Enjoyed the video, nice job.
Travis and Joyce
Hello! Thank you so much for watching 🤍 We are enjoying the Hickory Syrup in our coffee each morning, delightful. Blessings to you, I hope you got to snuggle and enjoy that new grand baby ☺️
Kelsy, what a calming and relaxing video. You were missed😊. You are so right. We take on the craziness of the world and make it normal when it is not. We should take the time to step away, create our own normal, and leave the rest to God. Blessings 🙌
Thank you friend, I'm so glad you enjoyed

There are recipes for making your own velveeta cheese online that work quite well. Everything looks delicious for your family's dinner and the fall lanterns were awesome.
I really love your message and sentiment in this video. It was so needed

Wonderful video ❤️ Thank you
Thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍
We have friends who moved to Israel as missionaries just under a year ago. I have been a bit of a mess for the past couple weeks trying to trust the Lord would make it clear to them when it was no longer safe for them (and their five kids). Being so in tune with the news and what’s happening there was not good for me. They were safely evacuated a few days ago and the heavy weight was lifted but wow it is a till heavy knowing of suffering on such a scale. Thank you for this reminder that I can still delight in my home and role as wife and mother.
Also, I hope you enjoy the season you’re in with your little ones. There is more stillness, I know that sounds crazy, but I really think it’s true. The needs are more immediate at that age but you don’t yet have as much pulling you away from the home. We have five kids playing sports and I feel as if I’m constantly protecting those precious family dinners that we don’t share together as often as I’d like anymore.
Praise the Lord for their safe keeping! I don't believe we were created to know all the happenings of the world, we don't have the capacity for that, only God does. While I don't believe we should ignore reality, its necessary at times to take a step back from it all and focus on our little corner and give God the rest. Blessings friend.
Pinterest has a whole made velveeta recipe, although I haven’t tried it yet.
Just an idea…a zip tie would keep your measuring cups together.
Thank you! It doesn’t quite fit through the whole but I’m thinking maybe some bakers twine???
Oh, I had no idea you were doing carnivore too! I’d love to know what you eat especially when making this meal. I have to cook my family traditional meals also, but find it hard to eat myself. Would love to hear or see what you eat too! Thanks
Great video, love that dinner, looks amazing. Thank you. I needed to hear those words today.
Thank you so much friend 🤍
Have a great weekend!
You as well ❤
Yeah you’re back! Soup and bread bowls looked so delicious, then cinnamon rolls! Yum. Family time as a priority 👍👍So glad you were able to go to HSA. Will you bring us any footage or things you learned from there? Val C
You make hungry
I am working on finding a Velveeta replacement too!! 😩 American cheese is the closest I have found so far but the only organic one I can find is sooooo expensive. If you figure out a replacement, please share! Great video, btw!!!
I just finished the video and that last part…..I so needed to hear that! 🥺❤️
Oh I will! I'm working on it! Blessings
So what do you eat? I find it so hard to resist all the normal food that my family eats while I try to remain low carb.
Hi! I’m wondering what you use to clean your counters before you use it for your dough. I’m always concerned about putting it on counters that I’ve used cleaner on
Good old fashioned vinegar infused with citrus! I also use Dr Bronners solution from time to time. ☺️
where can i find your recipes? I liked to try your bread.
I always include recipes in the description ☺️
there are a lot of homemade velveeta recipes online
I've tried a few and haven't found one that is worth the time, I'm still searching and hopeful lol!
