Sounds great! The Savage 120 was my first Engl. I got it back around 2005 and I honestly didn't like it. It may be the only Engl I never bonded with. My buddy was an endorsee at the time and yada yada I got one. It sounds very good in your demos - not as harsh as I remember mine being. Maybe it's YT compression but mine had very aggressive mids that I could never seem to get right. It definitely cut better than most Engls though. Anyway, I sold it. Since then I've tried most Engls and currently own 3.
Thanks man. Yeah, I totally know what you mean, it's a love hate realtionship and I always wondered why in video's of other people it sounded much better. This is a 2007 model and I think they upgraded the Savage with a new (bigger) output transformer around 2009. It has very good tones in it, it just takes time to get to know the amp and sometimes use pretty extreme settings.
I uploaded on my channel some remixes, or adding a cover guitar along the original ones and stuff, and yeah, some songs the CZcams compression butchered the whole thing compared to the original file.
@@szveszs Do you think they have a different system of applied compression for the signed acts on Warner Bros or other labels? Their songs certainly don't have the highs and lows of a CD or 320 MP3, but a lot of times they do come close enough to a 320 that the upgrade is a waste of money except to support your already favourite rich band.

How much does youtube's compression affect the sound you are hearing compared to what the videos are showing?
CZcams introduces some compression, though Engl's in general are known to sound compressed, so the difference is minimal I think.
