Hi, I feel you bro ;) tuners for these Sony units are common issue. Even brand new ones still boxed could have this issue. We hunt cheap Sony radios with same tuner models all the time and swap for higher class radios.
I had the cdx m 610 in my Delorean and the radio stopped working, I tried taking it to a radio repair shop and they said they couldn’t help me. I was so sad. Was there a fix to getting the radio to work again on these?

I have this unit from new and the tuner stopped work last year the tape deck is direct drive and is still work brilliantly.
