It was a great deal and without the help of my brother and his Air Canada points it would have killed it for us too. We did have an amazing time and I hope you tune in for some of the most beautiful scenery we’ve ever seen.

LOL...I've been told by some that "grumpy" should have been my middle name! LOL For me, I don't really need new, but I do insist on clean...I am sure Carnival can do better than that. Knowing of the cutbacks and overworked staff, I just would have asked the cabin steward and left it at that. Sure got yourselves a wonderful deal! Fun is just beginning!!

Agreed… I just want CLEAN … it’s not to much to ask. He offered the new pillows. He really went out of his way and was amazing the rest of the cruise.

Just remember student times and celebration after student times...not fancy but wonderful trips and arrivals in that train station...just found you..first video watch...loved it thank you!! And Victoria Station is still there..special feeling memories..I did not find a hotel till i got there...mid 80's second trip...having been taught uber budget tips. Nearing 65 ready for cruising there....Wow on your deal...I mean wow!! You two are lovely. I have only had great Carnival experiences,,,

I complained when I went to my room 3 times to find dirty underwear on the bottom of the closet on a MSC Cruise. I complained to guest services and to the cabin Steward. I agree they are very overworked. 20 cabins per Steward is too much.
You are so right. The same thing happened to us once on our first princess cruise. Tidy whities under the bed 🤣
Otherwise it was a good trip.

Personally, I like how you handled the pillow issue. Amazing deal you got, but I have zero interest in sailing on a Carnival ship again. But you seemed to enjoy it as you always seem to do.

Btw Phil, I see your channel as very objective. You compliment the good, try to understand why something isn’t as good as it could easily be, and “grump” about the things that should make everyone grump. I don’t care if the ride is free, don’t put me in a dirty room and expect me to like it. Gross!
We just came finished Alaska Inside Passage on the Konningsdam. For a cruise lines supposedly catering to an older crowd, there were far too many kids on board. The main pool was unusable because of so many kids.
Next up… Greece in October on the Celebrity Infinity. Well, that’s both of us. I’m cruising solo for 10 days doing three short back to back to back Bahamas cruises. Have the same cabin each time. I love to snorkel.

Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you need to lower your standards ( or manners for some ). I definitely can get grumpy at those things. 😇
We also were in the Koningsdam to Alaska and loved the ship. We did notice a lot more families on it than expected. I think if you sail them in the Caribbean there would be less kids. Alaska is more limited on ships to choose from so I think that’s why you get more families in general.
Celebrity infinity should be good. Nice for the med. a little older but I kinda like those “M” class ships from Celebrity. Enjoy
