Gotta love how dedicated Maggie is. You really get the sense that she truly is fearless unlike many characters who might claim to be. The only thing that I can imagine scaring her is if you blew up Salvo or something, but in regards to her own safety? Yeah there’s pretty much no way you could ever intimidate her.
Everyone has a weakness that can exploited. Yes, most likely involves harming people of Salvo. I highly doubt that she is truly fearless.

Mad Maggie’s tactical is that she can shoot her teeth, and they deal massive damage when shot in the right places. She only has 30 uses for 30 teeth, and she gets worse and worse at talking the more teeth she shoots

And the way she actually looks away from the judge, directly down to the floor as well. And as we've seen from her little bit of lore from the Apex Twitter, she actually does have emotions and actually does get fearful.
She most likely told herself that she had to hurt those people for the greater good. Although I'm sure she felt some guilt. She's a hero in her own story, but a villain in others.

As a kiwi I found it interesting that Gibralter was written as if of maori descent but the fact that Maggie also speaks maori is really neat and im wondering if they have a kiwi on the team trying to push that kind of choice. Cool to see more representation of my country even if I dont particularly like either of the characters.

Gibby is more Hawaiian based but is aimed towards all polys, since he speaks Hawaiian and his voice actor is pretty big in the Hawaiian community. While mags seems to be more aimed at New Zealand I’m guessing because New Zealand is associated with Australia and Salvo seems to be around that theme.

I love the character building! This video sends chills down my spine, from the way she shouts "For Salvo!" to ATLA-like voice acting from the Judge (honestly reminded me a little of the Fire-Lord or one of his generals). From The mystery behind Mr. Silva to the breadth of personality Mad Maggie's voice actor puts into every line; it's outstanding!

The apex games are a televised blood sport, so maggie getting the chance to merk all of the syndicates favorite entertainers while actively slandering their government on national television would likely seem more appealing to her than just quitting life after being given her sentence.
I thought all she would be is an anoying charecter like back in season 8, now i think she isnt to bad from the trailer.

One of the things I love about Maggie is that her laughter isn’t crazy or insane sounding, just her laughing at the idea of going to die in the apex games makes her feel much more genuine of a character instead of being a generic crazy villain
The chant she does before she’s about to die is in Māori the native language of New Zealand (Im for New Zealand and speak the language) so just to translate

At 2:24 Mad Maggie is actually speaking Māori which is the language of New Zealand, what she is actually doing is performing a Haka which is a ceremonial dance of Māori people, which can represent the pride, strength, and unity of a community. But I have translated her Haka on google translate and this is what came up:
Māori: ki kaha, kia toa, kia mananui! He toa, he toa, kia kaha ra!
English: be strong, be brave, be happy! Brave, brave, be strong!
I actually love every single line in this short. Best written one so far IMO, and the bit about spitting teeth at people has gotta be one of the coolest things I’ve seen animated
Narratively I love the one two punch of it! It was "Oh brutal- DUDE! Nice shot" It was short, quick, and really showed the attitude that got her name
@@ChesireWaltz I also just realized the symbolism of “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” in a courtroom is hilarious, and it ends up foreshadowing her sentence in the apex games.
I remember back then I said Mad Maggie had a different accent than Fuse's, suggesting she's Kiwi. Seeing her doing the Haka confirms it. Also, proud of myself for being able to differentiate Aussie and Kiwi accents. Haha.

When shes about to be executed She chants

Of all the things the judge said about Maggie, i agree with him for the last one. The amount of innocent lifes lost that day is a bit too much. And i love Maggie's VA when she spoke about the price of freedom. You could tell in her voice the regret and sadness when talks about that incident
as much as i hated maggie when she was a game host in season 8, i genuinely think she'll be an interesting legend lore-wise, especially their interactions with Fuse

I'm glad that the $80ish I spent on this game is going to help fund this great team of animators, voice actors, story writers, whatever you call the coding guys, and everyone else. Even if it isn't much. It's a great team, and I'm glad that they all made such a great game with a very in depth story.

Really love the inclusion of a maori character aswell and was so hyped when someone leaked her as being a legend way back when.

The fact that she broke off her teeth and spit it on the judge's face just to make a point (and blind him in one eye as a byproduct) makes her an absolute savage.
Her being a Maori and doing that haka makes me so hyped. So annoying as an announcer but this trailer basically flipped it all around for me

was a bit perplexed by their pronunciation of her last name since it seems like a Māori name (i don't think it is exactly) but they definitely didn't pronounce it like one
@@iredomi3733 it definitely is, but to be fair the judge has such a strong accent that I can imagine it being a bit difficult for him to pronounce Maori words
