A perfectly balanced IMPOSSIBLE game with no exploits!

- Welcome back to heroes hour where today we are going to test if it is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if perhaps the fact spiff can devour high level creatures of endangered species to gain game breaking stats might upset this games challenge. Todays game is hero's hour a modern auto battler strategy game combining elements of total war and heroes of might and magic (mostly HOMM 3). However the game has a very steep difficulty curve especially if you are playing with hardcore + difficulty! The Unstoppable Ai will march giant armies at us with insane speed making it an impossible game!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience. If you enjoyed this auto battler adventure gameplay then perhaps you will enjoy our meme victoria 3 run which goes beyond the realities of the game!

*Now I do the exact same thing with 1472 cups of tea every minute*
Anyway I hope you liked todays very strange path to power of consuming endangered animal species!
Cringe af
I haven’t even seen it yet and I know I’ll enjoy it
Tea
always nice to see another Brit showing how life is done. Hoorah Sir!
It's Soo Beautiful!
Spiff: so that's a win for everybody
The enemy:
they get an end to their existential nightmare that is their life
It's a win for everyone who survived, and thus everyone who pays taxes, thus anyone who matters.
The most British perspective if I've ever heard one.
Alive. Everybody alive.
The poor loyal red dragons who fought hard only to be eaten by their own comrades 😢
Calling Gunvor, Guvnor is just a British instinct.
Yeah, loved those "Governor" while they lasted.
I had fun because I'm russian and it sounded almost like his name is Shit :))
I dont get it.
SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!!!
-That Fairy
Exactly what came to my mind 🤣🤣
1:10 As an American citizen I can 100% confirm we do infact eat anything in sight and summon dragons
Taco bell specs out said dragons(fire chances increased)
Napalm
Including the dragons?
As another American I can confirm in fact we are know to go to the local McDonalds at 3am and sacrifice the kids for the gods of big macs
I must be living in the wrong part of the country, cause I eat everything and all I get is atherosclerosis…
Based on this strategy, there is a better faction that can snowball even harder. Most of Lament's heroes have devour and dragonking, but the Lament faction can recruit Gold Drakes and turn them into Red Dragons and turn Upgrade the Red Dragons into Black Dragons (100 power), THE strongest in the game. So basically, you can get more dragons and make them even stronger that you can devour.
Jesus dude it's already insane enough stop telling him how to make it better
Honestly, Lament isn't better at this strat. Yes, Lament cities have the Altar of Dragons to turn gold dragons into red dragons into black dragons, but the Altar only gives one dragon every two weeks, and their heroes with Dragonking and Devour (only two of six, by the way, not "most") have the skills toward the bottom of their skill trees, which makes them very slow to level because the player has to level a path down to them. Spiff most likely chose Gunvor because Gunvor has both of those skills right up near the top, making it way easier to powerlevel those skills and snowball into an abomination.
(Plus, all the player needs to do is conquer a Lament city, or convert a city they own to Lament, and then they have the effect of Altar of Dragons without needing to start as a Lament hero.)
Most strongest strat is going delerium faction upgrading the mage character so that you get mind control (takes over enemy permanent) than unlock the potent variant so you have 2 mindcontrols. You can take over a whole enemy army for a bit of mana and if there is a arcane town nearby you claimed you have infinite mana so you can legit NEVER lose no matter how big the enemy is since you just spam that shit and take over their whole army.
@@Sussyimposter046 love playing like this; it’s even better if you grab potent army of giants so you can mind control entire armies and then immediately turn them into kaijus
@@Sussyimposter046 But what if they're fighting Gunvor with NO army?
Spiff: "For I am British."
Me, having listened to Spiff call his hero "Guv'nor" for half the video: "Yeah I know, buddy."
Is he tho? I not quite convinced🤔
@@danielawesome36 Perhaps like the guvnor, you are simply too Awesome.
@@danielawesome36i think it's because his voice doesn't have the stereotypical british voice and you'd never think I was Australian because I don't have the stereotypical Australian accent... apparently us Australians being actors is another stereotype. I didn't know.
An unstoppable force meets an impossible object, now this is going to be exquisite
E
A
Ah yes, impossible object
Immovable.
In this case the unstoppable force IS the immovable object.
I can just imagine the enemy heroes atop their horses overlooking the fight, eyes wide and staring at Gunvor casually snacking on his own dragons in the middle of the battlefield to the absolute horror of all their units, while Gunvor's army is just shrugging it away like "ey bois, here come the steroids!"
All except that one time when the enemy hero looked at the OP dragon, pulled a reverse UNO card out of her arse and went "I'll be taking that"
and Gunvor still killed that one anyway XD
Soldier: "he's just one dwarf."
Captain: "you know the story of how Odin lost his eye? It was a lie. He insulted Gunvor and got slapped."
This gets even better when you realize there's a faction leader with this skill combo... Who can also mass produce red dragons AND evolve them into even more powerful black dragons, who then give even more stats. It's even an achievement iirc.
Yeah, this video was fun, but I don't consider this an exploit so I wasn't impressed at all- this is just standard gameplay on harder difficulties, because the AI blatantly cheats as a built in feature of the game, and the player has to get creative with the cheese. The developer put the red dragon skill and the devour skill on tier 2 right next to each other. There is no way they don't know exactly how overpowered and ridiculous red dragons+devour is, it seems clear to me that they're encouraging the player to do it. A lot of skill combinations are horrifically overpowered in Hero's Hour, and I personally believe that's supposed to be part of the fun/appeal of the game. As previously mentioned, the AI cheats, so you really do need the overpowered skills/spells to win.
@@choronos Beside the game is balanced as everything is overpowered when played by correct people.
@@Hellsliver I agree.
@@choronos how powerful can the player become?
@@Commrade-DOGE Yes
Eat anything and summon dragons?
Are we sure Gunvor isn't secretly a certain slime?
Scrolled down for this
lmao
If he's a war criminal then I think he's actually a certain *other* isekai protagonist with eating powers.
Was looking for this comment
@@kylepessell1350 are you speaking about *that* manhwa protagonist with eating powers ?
Fun fact: Lord of None is pretty much a direct upgrade of Gunvor, he gets even more stupid buffs, and he can still eat dragons.

"This is an impossible challenge, however I'm an impossible being to balance"
So this is what happens when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force
But which is which in this situation? I'd say spiff is yes and the game is one. Spiff is all. He's a master exploiter. If there is an exploit in a game. HE WILL FIND IT.
A rare video where Spiff actually starts to become salty with the AI for immediately stealing his castle
that was my favorite part of the video. "Oh they just summoned a second army...TWO ARMIES!!!"
42:01 "look at this mango🥭"
"I'm an impossible being to balance."
- The Spiffing Brit
But does he revisit
The thought of getting your ass kicked by an army and then having that army's general eat the most powerful unit in the army whole while the battle is still technically going on is terrifying.
About halfway through the video, Spiff's pure Britishness breaks in and causes him to inadvertently become a stereotypical caricature.
Spiff: "Let's go Guvnor..."
Me: * chuckles in chimneysweep *
Can we get an F in the chat for Gunvor who was later replaced by Guvnor in the video
Wasn't replaced, just colonized
Retconned.
Spiff: who knew all you had to do to become powerful was to eat dragons.
Reanu Keeves : Am I a joke to you? (spiff's skyrim guy)
Yes
Reanu was breastfed on dragon milk.
"I'm an impossible being to balance." Had me laughing way to much! Thanks for making this.
Guvnor the Dragon Eater.... may his legend live on in perpetuity.
I love how Gunvore is basically just having a quality meal in the middle of each battle and became god because of it. It's like if you drank some tea and became a god of destruction, which I honestly think you have been capable of for years.
British Popeye?
i can't help but feel that extra E was intentional
@@chadsnazzy2634 It must be a new kink
@@chadsnazzy2634 really? you think "vore" in context of this video could be an accident
Typical Isekai protagonist with devouring skill from God.
I love watching spiff whilst simultaneously playing Skyrim at an extreme addiction level.
As is tradition
While drinking Yorkshire tea you can’t forget about the tea
@@angeliquevampir9327 For a non-brit.. What exactly is breakfast tea? Is it yellow Lipton type thing?
@@prdprdprdprdprdel well, breakfast tea is the same as normal tea. Tea comes in many brands and is down to preference. For example, I love a good cup of Yorkshire tea, but many may prefer the taste of Tetley's, or the floral earl gray.
Many such as my self also refer to the third meal of the day as tea: breakfast dinner and tea.
@@LitteralBeans Foggy gray is king of the breakfast teas tbh
"Every single unit we turned into gold is money!"
Spiff: hmm yes, this money is made of money.
I'll never get tired of watching The Spiffing Brit revel in the excess of exponential growth
I've found the arcane mage faction to be hilariously op as well, as they are able to get magic power boosts from their minions to make their spells more powerful.
Now if you happened to have a spell that summons copies of your minions, those copies will also make their spells more powerful... including how many copies are summoned by your spells.
The game is basically built for you to exploit the hell out of it, even something as tame as the Plunder skill gets really dumb at higher levels because every random trash fight starts dropping strong gear or loads of cashmoney.
@@Jokoko2828 I used delirium to get the biggest army completely from doing nothing but magic, to the point game started to get too stuck for active fighting, eventually getting destroyed by getting wiped from one spell. Really wasn’t that long rebuilding though from just summoning some stuff to retrieve the horde once more!!!
Don’t remember how I managed it but holy shit it was worth the effort!!! 😂
I know I’m late, but if you have a Delirium avatar at a captured arcane town with ziggurat, you can just dump all your spellpower wherever and then just regain it immediately after, since mana crosses over.
I remember finding this channel around 300k (old channel post exploit comes to mind). Glad 3.3 million people can see it's glory
Also, the sprite work in this game looks great!
i remember his Stellaris vids, nostalgic
This game is the definition of “the art doesn’t need to be good to have a good game”
There are so many crazy builds in this game, I loved doing them all. Dragon eater is the most insane build you can have, it takes just a bit to get going.
I like a Delirium hero with Elemental creation and toxicology. You can reach 8 lvl of a hero on the first day of the first week, beating impossible lvl.
What a perfect balanced acronym to use in this perfectly balanced game that cannot be exploited!
Great video as always! I have now found two news articles on you. This last one was on your 101 days in Skyrim. You are becoming a star good sir!
I was hoping he was a supernova, but hopefully not a white dwarf, a red giant.
Or would it be blue giant because of his blue profile picture.
I wanna see this madman get his hands on the new Dwarf Fortress coming in a few days. How he finds these exploits baffles me but I love to watch the chaos every time.
Gunvor is like Sauron with the sniffles: he sneezes and little guys fly.
Really makes me want to play HOMM 3 again. Or watch spiff break HOMM 3 again…
The Steam mods for this game are pretty fun but theres too few of them. I wish this game got more love.
34:27 Love that the red dragon just casually suplexes the enemy dragon and one shots him.
I do love Hero's Hour, all those things I missed from HoM&M, but with a really fun fight mechanic.
Once again I have infinite skeletons!
Came for the one man doomstack
Stayed for the Mukbang
Spiff returning to Hero's Hour? I haven't started the video yet but it's gonna be glorious!
Thanks for introducing me to Hero's Hour! I've been really loving it.
It's refreshing to see a game which is balanced around "who can snowball the fastest", and I mean that sincerely.
I think this is the first time I have ever seen Spiffing break down and panick.
You never cease to amaze us with the ways you come up with in excelling, it’s truly amazing
"Gunvor has been improved, he is now up too 62000 health" Ahaha oh my god I nearly spat my tea out spiff
I love this video. The stuggeling in the beginning. So good! Keep the good content up!
Gunvor understood 100 Stat man a bit differently then we expected
this is a brilliant channel, love ur work
This man is absolutely delightful in this run
Thank you so much for shedding light on this gem!!
Nice one! Do more crazy CK3 Stuff with your friends! Love those ones.
What's even more funny is that this is with NO GLITCHES edit damn 42 likes new record

I love your Hero's Hour videos
PLEASE MAKE MORE! EXPLOIT THE NECROMANCY!
NICE! Was hoping you would do more of this, especially since by the time I got the game, your videos had already had their exploits patched out.
Gunvor's aura is powerful enough that the enemy just keels over and dies.
Gunvor: Being forcefed dozens of giant magical dragons.
The Briffing Spit: "are you compensating for something?"
Wow that was 40 mintues of commentary that I completely consumed. Felt like 10 mins it was so fun and entertaining! Good job, Spiff!!! =D

This game is so good. Im so happy you play it cause now I cant stop
Yay! Thank you for using the exploit I suggested Sir Spiff!
Harcore+: Overwhelming the player since the very start with enormous armies
Also harcore+: You dare to take 1 single spot from me? I forfeit!
If a faction is out of cities but still has active heroes it's got like a week to take over a city before the game deletes them from existence.
@@Jokoko2828 weird that he AI didn't have anything else conquered, guess the difficulty just increases its aggressive playstyle
@@philruu Judging from map size he probably played on duel... only 2 cities available
Spiff’s support for Hero’s Hour is so damn wholesome
"Gunvor, please, there are these things called war crimes. You need to be aware of them!"
Gunvor is _very_ aware. He even made a checklist.
I have watched countless videos and I have been waiting for so long just to hear a simple "nice" whenever something with 69 comes up. Thank you veeeery much, you made my entire day!
I love how he just makes everything simple like dear God (and queen) in heaven, it ends up amazing
Now *THIS* is how you play a game.
I'd love to see more of this game on your channel.
I love those perfectly balanced tactics. The devs thought they made an impossoble game.
The beginning felt like a drive by stabbing
a tip to get the best start: hire two extra commanders and give their units to your main commander and just get them to scout and then after some scouting get them to camp near a resource to increase resource gather, a 2nd tip which took me a very long time to find out, you can upgrade the gates that you control to make the defenses stronger on them
6:48
"I would like to limit myself to one commander..."
@@johnyounoe6219 it isn't using more than one commander as i said you use them to scout for a turn or two then camp them and not use them further as they are gaining more resource
but long term if you don't eventually get more commanders you will be continually running back to castles you have to retake them back form the enemy, what i do is just keep a commander in each section i have a castle in and run them around there fighting the mobs within the borders so they are there if the castle is likely to be attacked but i still just use the main commander for everything else, they are just castle defense and leveling off of mobs in area
Spiff 2022 : "Go ! Turn my enemy into money !"
The most British sentence of the year ! 😅
This reminds me of when Maple ate the hydra in Bofuri and became the most broken shield-loli in the history of anime.
Hey Spiff, since your Gold Golems come back at the end of a battle, what happens if you just Devour a big group of them?
“Gunvor, why are you so big?”
Spiff, you’ve fed the man over thirty whole dragons. What did you expect?
omg you made me remember Half Minute Hero, I tried so hard to remember what was the title after all this time lmao (it's a game about speed running within 30 seconds with a RPG twist)
This video completely sold me on this game. I knew nothing about it before seeing it here.
Glad to see people picking up on this game, super fun

I laugh so hard XD
This one is a good run! Thanks Brit! You are awesome dude!
I've gotta try this acronym, thank you Spiff!
your voice is so soothing i went from wide awake to eyes closing at the wheel
now this can be turned into a good isekai anime "i have the ability to summon a dragon and eat it and gain it's skills"
"I am impossible being to balance"
[spiffing brits 2022]
Spiff saying this word is so terrifying that i couldn't even describe it why it's terrifying
love your videos, just felt the need to come down here to Specifically compliment the way you divide the video up into small chapters. king shit
Beautiful to see lmao
I’m hanging out now for the next Skyrim video.
Someday you need to return to Fallout 4, with a party girl perk run and drinking several different types of alcohol. I understand that the luck bonus stacks with each different type - I wonder how far you can break things LMAO
My favorite dwarf strat is still just using the dude who starts with clone and miner mastery in combination with the skeleton rune, because clone doesn't just work on your units, it also works on the skeletons your units summon every time they hit someone due to the skeleton rune, so you just drown people in armies of cheap, infinite trash.
There's no way that's an accident on the Devs' part. It has nearly the same exact exploit as the source material it was inspired by?
Im going to install this game now, thanks for the video!
Honestly, this reminds me of some games that thought ahead and limit the stats to say 100 at most... glad they didn't do that. loved the video, but made me wanna play Kenshi throughout almost all of it tbh, prob cause you can do similar.
the character development of GUVNOR turning into GUNVOR is so brilliant
Please keep him alive and do more with this game haha quite enjoyable
I'm loving the "Science With Spiff" section!
I love this game and this video is one of the reasons I started playing and as always I tryed to break it as best I can so I ended up having 2 characters who over 1k mana with 600 in all combat and magic stats thank you for that
I could watch a long play version of this, very exquisite Spiff
As always you make the impossible possible love your videos and always encourage to go in with the mentality there is always something broken. . For me I use a summoning build where you spawn infinitely amount of elementals and just empower my spell best part is sieges end up with me outside safe and enemy dealing with butt loads of elementals in their base .
Love the video, love to see you get out of Bronze 5 on heroes of the storm
"A classically evil British bugger" major chuckle out loud moment 🤣
Royal-Chef: Sire, I heard that you like to eat dragons. How do you prefer to eat it, M´Lord?
Gunvore: Yes.
So funny to see the game i translated to German is getting destroyed by you! Amazing job! :D
