Flag Zombie being a swarm card makes it actually one of the most accurate cards to the base game since flag zombies are what signify a huge wave approaching
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the initial intent of Flag. But, I also think it may not have been _as_ good back in the day either, just because 1-drops have gotten better.
@@AllToastersToastToastBack then, the Zombies didn’t have access to many strong 1 cost cards, like Quickdraw Conman or Zombology Teacher. So people back then swarmed the field with Dancing and Imp cards, cause they were the only tribes that involve swarming in any way.

I think the reason terrify is so good, compared to lets say cards on the plant side that move zombies/plants is the fact that it controls it at the very end, having the last say over it. It's not really defendable, can destroy the momentum of the enemy, build good trades that benefit your own zombies, and cycles. Along with that, zombies that move plants are only useful with gravestone, and they can be countered with grave destroyers or planned for such as with Sumo. Also they tend to be more expensive. Terrify happens out of nowhere for such a cheap cost that you dont really expect it.
Its kinda like the idea of how healthy treat is such a good trick. Its cheap, useful, and sets up good trades, all while being basically unstoppable unless you hard predict them or just happen to have untrickable, ESPECIALLY in the early game.
Im no expert tho, this is just the logic i figure
Another benefit Terrify has is it is a trick, which is why the Rustbolt Asian player used it instead of Sumo in a trickster deck.
I like how Fry explains three years ago how sumo is really good because it can move a card that is chump blocking even when you draw late like turn seven so it got A teir. Terrify does the exact same thing and draws a card yet it got F teir. Now they are both B teir lol
Yeah, that moment when guardian class heroes became more common and grave removal actually begun to exist kinda caused sumo to plummet a bit. It trades well with grave removal and doesn't get stopped by bean unless backed up by winter squash but tbh it still isn't exactly as spammable as it was before.
Terrify also doesn't have a counterplay unlike sumo.

Terrify is probably good because it’s a zombie control option, which the hearty class doesn’t have a lot of, and there’s no way the plants can prevent it because it’s always played after they play, right before battle. Then again, I’m only league 30, what do I know
yea the difference between terrify and sumo is that, sumo is a zombie card, meaning you have to either play it raw which is easily counterplayable or play it on the next turn after the sunflowers ramped and the dino roars already came out
Terrify, on the other hand, you simply cannot play around it, if the zombie hero plays something cheap and skips the turn they can react to any sort of play the plants do without full commitment like the sumo, and after getting that good trade you get and extra hand and now you have field and card advantage most likely
Honestly, the hearty class is probably the most underrated class in pvzh, it has the best enviornment, one of the best win con tricks, extremely powerful 1s and 2s it just lacks late game and bigger removal.

The funny thing is the game advertise Hearty to be control-based, with expensive and strong cards. In reality, it is mainly Aggro because of how many good cheap cards it offers.

terrify basically became that one guy from school who was so forgettable, but in your high school reunion, he turns up jacked and shredded with a hell lot of money.
Neptuna imps is a fun deck you can try to mess with camel, leftover, viral, and such hp card. Deadly covers for the low atk, and you can get easy boards set up. Thick imps is a good tempo deck for anyone willing to try it out.
Thanks for the tier lists and strategy tips. They've really upped my game. It's nice to have a bit more confidence in throwing a card out of the rotation.
Cone Zone could get value if you do something like playing it on 2, followed by a teacher on 3 in the cone zone (keeping it out of berry blast range because it would cost too much to do that and remove the environment) and then allowing you to play a bunch of cheaper tricks and if you run Rocket Science, they can't just remove the teacher in attack phase with 1 big, 4 attack minion. Then just run some other cards that want to stay alive more like Genetic and i think the deck could do pretty well.
Zombology teacher and flag zombie should get some points reduces for showing your opponent what card you draw at the start of the turn. If the card draws happen consecutively you can tell the card costs got reduced

@@strawoomy.9252 I think what they mean by that is drawing a trick with zombology teacher or a zombie with flag zombie on the field will cause the zombie to draw their card before the plant, rather than them drawing the cards at the same time.

Wow, how did Gladiator go from S to B tier while Genetic Experiment and Healthy Treat went from B to S tier??? I was not expeting such sudden changes so early into the tier list.
Fry, for following tier lists, instead of having S-F maybe put specific information. Like S could be “almost every deck” and C could be “one or two synergies/ decks”. It would make it easier to digest and understand your thought process.
Terrify is either smoke bomb that's more defensive but cycles or a more expensive teleport, but you can (or have to) use zombie tempo established previously instead of needing all the brains that same trick phase.

When I watched the last tierlist on Hearty that you made, you put Terrify very low. I was like "huh, that's weird. I get a lot of use out of that card.", and here we are now...
19:45 I think it is most likely the popularity made it decent, as an underrated card nobody will play around it, people are more likely to play around popular cards like shamrocket and gravebuster which made them not as op. while terrify being an unpopular card will be more likely to get value as an unexpected strike
Fry, the strat for coffee zombie is a spam zombie deck (or some form of aggro)
It can be used to stop the opponent from blocking if you are running gargantuars

You should also remember about your decks. Some not-so-good cards can be amazing in synergising with other cards in some decks, trust me. (Just a reminder)
Cone zone should have made zombies get +2❤ and armored1

a better idea would be to create a whole new card i even have have idea for a new one (shield base) hearty class cost 4:zombies here get +1 armored and can't get hard removed on any way: either by plant abilities or tricks it could be implemented on some mod
I think I just wrapped my head around terrify.
If you look at terrify, what card does it remind you of?
Terrify is extremely similar to escape through time, and frosty mustache, they are 2 cost cards, they dont cost a card (gives you a card back), and corrects a trade.
However, terrify DRAWS a card, which as you mentioned, is leagues better than conjuring a card.
Freeze, Protect, and Moving minions each have their own benefits and flaws, freeze disables plant ability (capt cumber), protect does something similar, but moving a minion enables things like arm wrestler, neuturalises spudow super, primal potato mine, which freeze doesnt do anything to.
Overall terrify is better (nichely better) than its two brothers, because it draws a card, and moving a plant has more versatile applications than the other two.

Fry I think you should try a deck with parasol zombie and undying pharaoh I think it could be a really good combo, cob canon is stills going to kill it so maybe try to ramp to it

Hearty class became my favorite class about 3.5 seconds after I finally gave up on sports decks.
29:23 I’m not super far into this video so if it changes then I guess I’ll take this back but fossil head should go up a tier and imo I kinda think terrify should aswell but fossil head specifically cause you can play middle manager on round one the fossil and it’s a 4/5 untrickable idk there’s not a ton of turn one plays that can deal with that

my favourite class with probably may favourite card warlord after all every game end up in how many time i can activate warlord in one game my recor being 8 times for now
defensive end should be c just for being one of the best 6 drop gargs. I know it still gets hard removed, shamrocketing it basically uses up your entire turn, and it can prevent doom-shroom until turn 7. Also it sort of makes 1 cost superpowers unplayable
Fry can you fry cone zone-vimpire or cone zone-Jurassic head

By the time you play it, the enemy will just use a destroy card and now they can play another card for free

not gonna lie, i use cone zone in my decks and honestly i love it, maybe because i don't have black hole or i because i am a low gold player but cone zone saved my troops so many times, your parasol zombie is about to die? BOOM! Cone zone + going viral and you live and do damage, i know is very counterable but i love it anyways.

a genetic experiment is literally a pea pod but with +1 attack and a more complicated ability condition
And it grows the same turn it is played. It's +2/+1 every turn in comparison to pea pod.

nah! devensive end is underated af! the fact that it makes tricks cost 2 more is not nothing, it can waist an intire turn for plats if they have to sham rocket. and run it in decks with flag zombie and Terquil skull :)

Bonus track is under-rated and YOU ARE SLEEPING ON IT. It is not niche, when have you ever seen a Mega-Grow hero not running plant food, and to mention out of the four Mega-Grow characters two of them having built in bonus attacks as super powers, Grass Knuckles is an extremely popular hero already and I have seen cards like Bananasaurus and Re-peat moss show up fairly frequently. it is a HARD COUNTER to what you have described in the past as two of the best plant characters.
But If I have to give it one fault is that it exits only to counter one class.
I just got beaten by a top-decked Terrify and I'm feeling pretty salty about Fry right now. 😂

Usage rate doesn’t mean it’s better , also arm wrestler is a common card while gladiator is super rare and came in a newer set so less people have it overall.

I’d say Stompadon is really bad because when I play it opponents always have an answer by turn 4, if you want to keep him in the field you must play some other guys first and there’s when he looses value. I’d say C tier
