2013 Escape Titanium. 129k miles. Driver side not responding. Seems simple enough. Going to give it a go.

My daughters 2013 escape is having an issue where neither wiper blade will come up unless I give it a little boost or move with my hand. Could both motors have went out or dying at the same time?
I have the exact same issue. What was your outcome?
@@demingjr it wasn’t the motors at all. The wiper arms do not have grooves on them where they attach, so I had to tighten the shit out of them. Seems like a wacky design to me, to not have grooves in them but I’m no engineer.
Im having the same problem. Driver side wiper getting stuck in upright position. How did u know u had to change the passenger side and not the driver side? My passenger side still goes up and down. Also the driver side makes a humming sound when it gets stuck.
I honestly don’t remember. I think it was one side was slow or would randomly stop so that was the side that I knew was bad. Yours is likely the one you hear humming.
My driver's side stopped working but passenger side will go up and stay. Drivers side just makes a vibration noise. I took both arms off and the motors still work and spin. I can attach just the pasenger side and it works by itself. I put the drivers arm on and it just makes a sound like it's not spinning. Like it doesn't have the strength to. Should I replace the motor?

@Madison Nipper ended up buying a new motor on Amazon for like $130.... don't have the car anymore though it was a piece of shit with too many problems. Coolant leaked into engine (they should be recalled but ford won't) slowly over time even after paying $1000+ for dealer to fix a leak a year before. Engine started failing and still owed $10k on it, they wanted $9k for a new engine. Ridiculous.

My 2013 wipes are not working right the drivers side stops in the vertical position and the passenger side does nothing. what should I do?
I’d suspect the passenger side wiper motor is bad. The driver side senses a conflict and stops. I’ve ran into that in the past.
I just replaced my battery could that be a problem?

It was, but I sold it this summer. I have a two seater PPC that I fly now! I'm located in Northern Lower Michigan.
If one motor stopped would the other work?
This vehicle was working that way. But sometimes the other motor would try to work and the wipers would collide.

Incredible video. Im a loser. I bought a 2014 Ford Escape for 12,000 plus interest on the 8,000 dollar loan. My life is an endless cycle of fuck ups. Everyday, I dream of someone shooting me in the face. This would be another 600 dollars into the car that I have sunk about 7,000 dollars in repairs for (new tires, bearings, suspension, windshield, windshield wiper motors, what else.. umm oh yeah, the brakes, the spark plugs, the filters, the brake pads and the A/C). My life is trash. Thank you for helping. I will go buy a socket set to figure this out. Im a 39 year old waiter who lives from pay check to pay check and will never be good enough for anyone to father their children so if fixing this car is all I have.. well, thats good enough for me. You’re a huge help. Hopefully, I’ll die in a car accident like my brother did and not have to worry so much. My inspection is passed due and I need an oil change.
