Disney always knows how to properly cash in on different movies, characters, and properties. From hiding films in the vault to created sequels to classic hits, they have made a lot of money and content over the years. While some Disney sequels like Return to Neverland can be a huge success, there are some that go under the radar or just aren’t noticed as much. These are the forgotten sequels of Disney films.
In 1997, Hercules stormed his way onto the big screen for a fun adventure that mixed Disney animation with Greek mythology. Fans of the film can enjoy even more Hercules action as the character trains in Hercules: Zero to Hero. Cinderella is a Disney classic, but that didn’t stop the company from releasing two sequels for it. The second one, Cinderella III: A Twist in Time is an often forgotten story that mixes elements of Lost and Back to the Future together. So many people have seen the Toy Story sequels, but back in 1996 ABC aired a number of short films that basically compiled a movie within the movie. You can relive the story of the Lion King in an odd and confusing sequel entitled The Lion King 1 ½. A Goofy Movie is a Disney classic featuring great music and a nice father and son tale, but things get a little crazy for the cheaply made Extremely Goofy Movie sequel. It seems like there wasn’t much to do after Rapunzel cut her hair in Tangled, but Disney produced a sequel short entitled Tangled Ever After. Disney channel original movies used to be extremely popular and Johnny Tsunami is one of the main reasons why. This is probably why Disney released Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board years later. Watch to see these forgotten sequels and other ones for films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the 101 Dalmatians.

Screen Rant You forgot some other sequels like Bambi 2 and Lady and the tramp 2 scamps adventure
Screen Rant oh and the little mermaid sequel
I love this movie.
Angie Way me too btw love yiur prfile picture
Screen Rant some of these i knew existed but others nahhh
I'm surprised you guys didn't talk about the Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie. As a child, that was the only beauty and the beast movie I had so I thought that was what beauty and the beast was.
I think it was my case too
That one's kind of well-known though, if only for the inclusion of Tim Curry as the villain. The other direct-to-video Beauty and the Beast movie, though . . . how about we not discuss it.
I know,I loved it
An Extremely Goofy Movie is a classic. The scene with the poet girl and the snapping is one of my favorites.
I always remember the skateboarding scene where goofy beats his son
I really loved the lion king 1.5 it was really funny bro don't give it the wrong image
I love Cinderella a twist in time it's soooo good !! Deserves way more recognition
Ok, Lion King 1.5 is hilarious, and An Extremely Goofy Movie is really good too. The Nightmare Before Christmas one doesn't count either, as it is a game, not a movie.
Actually, there was another NBC game, but it served as prequel, and I think they both should have been made into movies. Though, I accept them both as a cannon plot line because the stories are really good.
1.5 and Extremely Goofy movie pretty sure people would remember those
True and I agree
Don’t forget it plays LIKE a sequel
Lion King = Hamlet
Lion King 2 = Romeo and Juliet
Lion King 1.5-= Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
A.E. Nock yep.
What
Chris Glabach what do you mean what? It’s pretty obvious if you watched the movies and know Shakespeare
Wow. I never put that together. Makes total sense.
Do you mean rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead ore just hamlet again?
I watched all of these...
Didn’t know I was this obsessed.
Haha me too
Same
The emojis represent Bolt
I think XD
You u right
Boi u right
Mhmm you right
That was a super easy guess lol
I think so too.
Are you kidding?! An Extremely Goofy Movie was a masterpiece!!!
TheFuzzyElf ikr
I know! It was fantastic!
yes
TheFuzzyElf mhm I loved it
To be fair you need a really high IQ to understand it
“10 forgotten Disney sequels you didn’t know existed” #10 Hercules the prequel
....
Bruh ,_,
Disney needs to do another ”Roger Rabbit" style movie but with all the new properties. Kinda like Kingdom Hearts but live action mix.
Disney isn't trying new stuff because they never realize how much potential they have in their hands. Look at the Treasure Planet.
What was confusing about Lion King 1.5? lol I know Disney is known for their complex storytelling, so where did it lose you? The different perspective?
It was like they stretched what should of been in a deleted scenes or shorts maybe into an entire movie. You can only stretch those scenes so much before you start asking yourself, "WHat am I watching?
"Disney sequels you didn't know existed"
"an unofficial sequel", "legal action from Disney forced them to change the name"
Not really a Disney sequel, if Disney didn't make it or encourage it, that would be like calling someone's fan fiction of Frozen a Disney sequel.
Also, with the exception of the heroine herself, that didn't look anything like SNOW WHITE. It looked more like THE BLACK CAULDRON, or even something by Don Bluth or Ralph Bakshi. Not to mention that "Snow White" was a storybook at least 100 years before it was a film (the Brothers Grimm lived in the early 19th century), so a sequel could just as well be of the book and not the film.
Cinderella 3?!
I DIDNT EVEN KNOW CINDERELLA HAD A SEQUEL TO BEGIN WITH!
Me neither
I did
Bentigiri I didn't know a princess movie couldn't have a sequel
Minecrafty63 the one time I agree with you Kim jung un
Ikr
Lion King 1.5 was one of my favorite movies as a child!! It was one of the ones on the list I've actually watched!
I didn't know about the Toy Story Shorts. Thank you so much for including it!
Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 is a fairly unknown sequel
Mr. E. I’ll say! I barely even remembered that Hunchback of Notre Dame was even a Disney movie!
Also Kronks new groove, sequel to emperors new groove. And Jane and Tarzan, sequel to Tarzan. Also lady and the tramp 2 scamps adventure.
The little mermaid 2
Secret of nihm 2 Timmy to the rescue.
Pocahontas 2
@@DarkGhostHacker
Secret of Nihm isn't Disney.
@@DarkGhostHacker and don't forget little mermaid 3
@@DarkGhostHacker umm this video was about forgotten sequels you didn't know existed. all the ones you named are 100% not forgotten (just like his bs list) lol.

YOU’RE ALRIGHT, LAD!!
i'm pretty sure I ended up watching 1 1/2 more than I watched the original Lion King 😂 it was my favorite!
Dig a tunnel 🎵
I didn't know about The Nightmare before Christmas game, that looks like fun.
Just watch the rebel taxi review
It's actually pretty fun!
Laura James it does look fun, but the graphics and animation *_REALLY_* need work
Laura James it's a fun game but can be difficult
Jen awesome! I have to play it some time
Tim Burton actually publicly declared that there will never be a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel. Tim, and I didn't know this, grew up in Burbank, not far from the Walt Disney Studios and he wrote a simple story as a parody against all of the consumerism in the United States where Halloween and Christmas decorations and other stuff showed up at stores like Sears, side by side. This got the image in his head of someone from Halloween taking over Christmas and hence, the Nightmare Before Christmas, which is a parody of "A Visit From St. Nicholas" or "Twas the Night Before Christmas." On the Graham Norton Show, filmed in London, England, Graham asked Helena Bonham Carter about possibly "whacky Christmases" at the Burton/Bonham Carter household and she answered that fans would be disappointed because Christmas at their household is quite traditional. Considering Burton's intent in the first place, this message rings true that the guy is basically the same and he was attacking the commercialism of the holiday season period.
Great vid. It really did make me more aware of movies I wasn’t aware. You forgot ‘Dalmatian Vacation’ too 💗
Whaaat? How can you not like an extremely goofy movie? :(
Ikr this was a great movie
Ikr! It was amazing!!
Alyssa Brown YEAAH I LOVE THAT MOVIE
Alyssa Brown dude it is funny
So glad I'm not alone here
I loved Cinderella a Twist in Time
Dee lucky#7's Ikr
I did to. idk why the narrator was shitting all over it.
Your profile pic is beautiful I’m musical theater trash as well 👌
Smol Goose who doesn't
I'm surprised Disney didn't do a sequel to Alice in wonderland like she had from the book Alice thru the looking glass.
They actually did do one. It was terrible, and absolutely nothing like the book
There was also a live action show in the 90s.
Same here. The only one we got was the Tim Burton one.
Thank goodness, I could barely take the singing of the first one.
“The answer to our emoji quiz is-“ -video ends-
It's bolt
Dude I am aware of the lion king 1.5 I own the movie
Jeffy Jeffy good for you...
go eat your green beans
same
Jeffy Jeffy EAT YOUR GREENBEANS
me to my dude
i would love a sequel to nightmare Before Christmasas long as all the voices came back and it was in stop motion like the original.
I would love to see a sequel (or sequels) where they go into all the different doors
Dr. Finkelstein voiced by the late great Vincent Price is unfortunately unreplaceable.
I've always wondered what the worlds behind those other holiday doors would be like. And it'd be so awesome if there was a sequel showcasing them.
and given Shelley Duvall's current mental state, your not going to get Sally.
disney offered tim burton a sequel in 2006 but tim burton turned it down cause they offered the sequel to be cgi
Anyone else come here for Jack Skellington or is it just me?
‘A goofy movie’ made me want to cry, I haven’t even seen the movie
As soon as I saw the emojis I was all like "BBOOOOLLLTT!!" I used to watch it all the time so I was happy. 😊
And it's funny and cute
The CrazyFoxGirl me tooo
The CrazyFoxGirl Meeee Tooooo!!!!
Bolt used to be my favorite movie EVER. But behind the emojis they played a clip of Thunderbolt from 101 Dalmations II so I was confused.
Sorry. Little Lightning, not Thunderbolt.
Bolt
Ah yes the lion king 1.5 I loved that movie
4:50 TBH I found that Lion king 2 was more forgettable than 1.5
Wait there is a lion King 2? xD
I swear there was a nightmare before christmas short where the mayor is evil or something.
No there wasn’t I don’t think so
The strangest thing is, I’ve never seen A Goody Movie, I’ve only ever seen An Extremely Goofy Movie
The original is so much better. You have to watch it. It's one of disneys greatest movies, especially for that time. It's awesome. I wish Disney made movies like that still
ImmaCat Gaming & Stuff I watched the sequel wayyyy before I knew the first one existed
ImmaCat Gaming & Stuff same
Neither did i
Disney channel shows the new more often in an attempt to connect with teens but it's no where near as good a movie.
"Bolt" is what i guess. I still like to watch that movie. I've also seen " An Extremely Goofy Movie"
11:48 what y'all came for
Thanks
I really want to see a proper sequel to the Nightmare Before Christmas, I have so many questions
disney offered tim burton a sequel in 2006 but tim burton turned it down cause they offered the sequel to be cgi
I wanna see Jack go to all of the other worlds... I especially want Jack to Saint Patrick's world!
It's in the contract that a sequel can not be made. That's the only way Tim would allow them to make the movie in the first place. No there should not be a sequel it would be awful like most sequels.
many sequels improve on the first movies too
I feel like calling some of these sequels is really pushing it. Alot of these are shorts.
Bryan Martin the snow white one doesn't count. Not made by Disney. Means not a sequel no matter how they try to explain it.
I completely agree with both of you. I think that the only person who could ever make a true sequel to Snow White was Walt Disney himself because he was the one who was most involved with that project and who the project meant the most to.
I remember loving the Lion King 1.5 when I was younger.
Forgotten live-action Disney classic sequel: "Savage Sam".
Or as it should have been called to make clear what it was a sequel to: "Son of Old Yeller".
You forgot the sequel to the little mermaid
Jasmine Ly no everyone remembers that shitty film
Jasmine Ly more like a prequal
What sequel? :b
C Butterfly Ariel's daughter
That’s the point 😂😂😂
Extremely Goofy movie was amazing
Saw Happily ever after as a kid and have been looking for it for years.
What about the lady and the tramp sequel
Jorge Miranda i know right i loved that one tho
I loved that one
That was actually pretty successful among fans so it's not counted.
Me too!
I love that movie
The Kingdom Hearts segments of Halloween Town are sorta a sequel. Even when Kingdom Hearts II basically retold the plot of the movie, Jack said he wanted to do Christmas again. And one could argue that the whole series of "Once Upon a Time" is a sequel to Snow White.
Good points!
Once Upon a Time can't be a sequel to Snow White. That show's characterization of Snow White is different. The Evil Queen from the movie was confirmed to be Queen Grimhilde, not Regina Mills. And Once Upon a Time is a crossover of fairy tales. A lot of the characters are different from the Disney movies. The closest it ever got to a sequel to a Disney film was Frozen.
Kingdom hearts is a game right?
Mikel Bsnk Yep. A really popular game.
Me: Wow, Nightmare before Xmas looks like a video game
Video: The sequel is in game from
Me:OMG :D
like Once Upon A Time season 7. They got a happy ending in season 6 and still got the seventh season. Not that I'm complaining. I miss that show.
Lady & The Tramp 2: Scamps Adventure
Hhhhhhh I used to be in lOvE with that movie, >3
I saw the trailer for that and the Hunchback sequel in the previews of another Disney sequel movie. Sequels stack really well.
heh, "the lion king 1.5" is just named "the lion king 3" in denmark?
Kim Lindenberg In Norway too
In Spain also
so it is in Italy
Its called 1 1/2 in Australia
In Romania too!!!
I saw all of these sequels and I still remember them
Rlly I remembed the night before Christmas even before this video
Surprised u didn't mention the Peter Pan sequel
Aaron Price or the little mermaid
There IS a Peter Pan sequel?
Yes there is
There was a seqwel to peter pan
????
I knew about some of these movies. I watched "Aladdin trilogy" & "Hercules: Zero to Hero" growing up. I even meet an actor whom played him way back in 1993.
You missed alandin and jifar's revenge or something like that.(not sure what it's exactly called)
SirMilk Man Return of Jafar. Didn’t have Robin Williams either.
I wouldn't have minded if Disney had continued the Rescuers Series. Those were some of my favorite Disney Movies as a kid
the nightmare before Christmas I did not forget about
Way too many poorly timed ads
pause it at 10:55 omg lol
I don't get it
Great video. One movie I would like to se a sequel for is Disneys Pinocchio from 1940 where for example maybe Honest John , The Coachman and Stromboli could by tricked by Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio and turned into some kind of animal 😀😀
SERIOUSLY!! EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS ABOUT TANGLED EVER AFTER!!!! IT WAS JUST ON DISNEY CHANNEL BEFORE THE NEW TANGLED!
lolbabydollsfun ikr i think it was on abc family too
Exactly!
Maybe only Americans know about it...? I had never heard of it
I've never seen it.
dont forget the vine that got it searched for
I was watching the bit about mufassa and the romance thing then I skipped and heard mufassa help strengthen the relationship between (skip) max and goofy
*Dead from laughter*
I lovvved lion king 1 1/2 it's hilarious! I recently found it on DVD for my daughter and she also loved it along with my hubby
I OWN happily ever after. On VHS XD
Now I want to play the Nightmare Before Christmas game!
Rosy Ramona you should it's a fun game but it's not exactly easy thow
Now I want to watch the movie again
I actually preferred the sequel An extremely goofy movie a million times more
Carolina Herrera is that the one with the voice of Brad Garrett?
Sean Lauer yes!
silent apathy I thought so
Carolina Herrera i liked it.but I never saw a goofy.movie only the extremely.goofy.movie
Carolina Herrera i agree it was hella funny when i younger "cheeesey!"
And here I was so hyped for movies sequels that I might never have heard of! And then I realized I knew every single one of these movies sequels/prequels 😅😅
I knew about Cinderella 3 before this and it was an instant favorite even though I still haven't seen it.
Oh come on. I was hoping 1.5 wouldn't be on here. Is it really obscure at all?
Sam Forpanek Surprisingly I didn't remember watching it until now.
I didn't like 2 that much and since there wasn't a 3rd it was pretty easy for me to remember about 1.5
It was repeated a lot in Disney channel some years ago though
Twodollar King 1888999i88
Oogies revenge uses a lot of assets from kingdom hearts.
I remember watching the Cinderella sequel, I think I liked it better than the original Cinderella story, just cos I like it when there's a twist in a fairy tale (I like reading the Twisted Tale series, which not only twists the traditional Disney films but does detail the 'prequels' to characters and much more enlightening character development)
I loved the extremely goofy movie
I remember buying Oogie's Revenge just because it was a game based on the Nightmare Before Christmas. I didn't realize at the time that it was basically my first introduction to Devil May Cry style games.
I've only seen Peter Pan 2 (which I love) until I was about 5, and my babysitter told me I was watching the wrong one.
Its not that we forgot, we just don't like to talk about em.
ForestSprite wrong answer
ForestSprite most people forgot about them
the Timon and pumba film is based on "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" where the comedic foils of hamlet are the main characters
Morgan Cate I had recently just seen that play. I can see that Timon and pumba are based off of them now that you mention it.
The puppy and lightning bolt emoticons means the movie Bolt. It was a movie about a dog, a little girl, a cat, a hampster, and some villans.
Love the vids I want the or again person
the emojis are bolt i LOVE that movie
MangoMite I wish they would make a 2nd or a small tv show
I loved both of the goofy movies as a kid😑
Right he makes the second one sounded like there was like tons of plot holes when it was a really solid story
my favroite was an exetermly goofy movie and it was the frist one that i watched
Mr Idle Hands yeah :)
the Nightmare Before Christmas Sequel looks like an alpha build for Kingdom Heart's NBC levels
Bolt?
But yeah... if I missed a nightmare before Christmas sequel I would be devastated.
I had no idea about the nightmare before Christmas sequel
I like an extremely goofy movie. True it wasnt as good as a goofy movie, but it was pretty good.
It was very funny I agree. WOOOO CHEDDERRR
I knew about all of these aside for the nightmare after Christmas. These are all pretty much just as much my childhood as the originals lol
While fans were busy watching High school Musical I was watching Johnny Kapahala Back on Board.
Everyone knew about lion king one and a half! Tbh I like it better
OoOMonkeyCoFreakOoO ikr!
I played Oogie's Revenge when I was about 8 I think, I never came close to beating it, but I remember it being pretty damn fun.
I new that when you brought it up
The ending of Disney's Hercules was pretty standard happy ending as far as children's movies go.
Who has watched all of these movies ?
Jasmine Ly not me
I have
Not me
Me
I have and own them all lol. Being a 90's kid was awesome.
I happen to remember "The Lion King 1.5" being released, and I saw it a long time ago. Granted, some people haven't heard of it, like I remember some kids saying in school, which I found odd. Also, "An Extremely Goofy Movie" I thought was quite known. I have it on VHS, and it's enjoyable. You can't really guarantee that Max would've fully fixed his relationship with Goofy. After all, that's what teenage rebellion is.
Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time is AMAZING
Damn nostalgia overload xD
an extremely goofy movie is hands down one of my favorite movies. ever
Darius Whited Why does everyone love that movie?!!!
Why can't it just be called "hands up?!" It makes more sense!
Everyone LOVES "The Goofy Movies"!
