Note: After receiving some advice through the comments from my last video, I started researching more about what's good for a betta tank because as a newbie I need to understand better. So I made a better home for Choochoo and I also added a bunch of friends that are good for the tank.
Buy the plants, soil, shrimps, etc., from here:

I think next time you use soil to cover it with black sand cause the shrimp can easily disturb the soil making it murky

Thank you for the recommendation🐙💚 Yes after a few days it is a lil messy, but I just fix it manually😄

Hii! You did a really good job with the scape! One thing I’d like to say is that you should get a dechlorinator to dechlorinate your tap water, as shrimp are quite sensitive to chlorine! I also hope you cycled your tank! If you dont know what that is, is basically allowing a nitrogen cycle to develop in your tank so that beneficial bacteria break down ammonia (harmful chemical for fish) into nitrites, then nitrates. There are many youtube videos on how to cycle your tank! I recommend you get a water testing kit to test your water parameters :)

You must put a lot of hiding places and live plants for your nano shrimps.

@francis7824 it was a 6.6g planted tank. It didn't matter. The betta was straight up targeting them. They didn't stand a chance.

I don't recommend adding shrimp to betta tanks. I've tried 3 times with 3 different betta fish and everytime within a week all shrimp have been eaten.

15l isnt enough for a betta.

Bettas are fine with very little water. Happens all the time in nature. Not sure why everyone cries about it. 😂😂😂 Nice tank tho! 🤙🏼

Yes it happens in nature but having a pet that was taken out of it's natural habitat and genetically modified to be cute is not natural, so why let them suffer the earthly cycles when you can give it the best life possible? Pets are privileges, not something we must have. If you or someone else cannot give their pets the best life they should simply not own said animal.

@@Moist.Marshes I have a reef tank and a fresh water tank with bettas in it. I have been in the hobby since I was in elementary. I'm 45 now & I have never had an issue with taking care of my animals. People who don't understand what they are doing are usually the first ones to cry about it and everything. To all of them I say... keep on crying about nothing! 🤷‍♂

@@Iceman4Christ You having some experience doesn't negate that you don't see the harm in keeping alive beings in sad conditions just because they sometimes live in small puddles of water when the weather changes- I also have plenty of fish tanks and other animals and would rather surrender all of them then keep them in poor conditions.. Just because something works doesn't mean it's correct. Bettas should never be in tiny "tanks" (unless for health reasons, I don't support breeders who keep their fish in below minimum conditions. I rather spend a bunch more money on a fish I know is treated ethically and well than support money crazy breeders who keep their fish in tiny 100ml bottles-) and that is my own opinion. Thriving and surviving is two different things. Bettas are not happy in bad conditions, they are simply surviving.
I have been in the hobby for few years but my father has had fish tanks for the past 40 years if not more. And he agrees with my thinking, animals are a privilege and should not be kept if they are made to survive instead of thrive. Goodnight ✌️

@@Moist.Marshes How do you know bettas are not happy? Did they tell you this personally? Bettas in the wild live in a puddle at certain times and yet for thousands of years they still survive and thrive! From the wild to a breeder to your local fish store they seem to be doing way better than in a measly puddle in Thailand and you don't complain when you go and purchase these creatures from them.
God doesn't seem to be worried about the conditions they are living in and yet He still provides for them and they reproduce and are well taken care of.
Yet, you are more concerned about fish and animals and we still have poor people and veterans in our streets. Which deserve more concern than fish in our little tiny aquariums!
Sleep tight and hold onto those 1st world privileges! 🙄
