  • I started to get aura headaches about 3 years after I was diagnosed with MS. I was experiencing vertigo and severe fatigue with them to the point where I was spending most of my time in bed recovering. I was prescribed Topiramate or Topamax as it is also known and this has reduced my headaches hugely.
I started taking 25mg a day, increased to 50 mgs and I am now on 125mg a day of Topiramate.
Aura headaches can start with symptoms of blurred vison, wavy lines, dots or flashing lights before you actually get the migraine attack which can be a long lasting painful headache. I never really used to get the migraines, but now I do and they are painful on head movement. It also leaves me overwhelming fatigue.
Since being on this Topiramate medication I can live a relatively normal life, it does still happy occasionally but no where near to the same extent.
Topirmate did cause weight loss quickly for me, this is not a medication that will be helpful to everyone as it does have some very strong side effects, so please always ask your medical team.
*Please also only use aspirin if you are not allergic to it.
I hope this video helps anyone out there who is going through the same thing

Talking about, headaches, aura migraines and migraines and how they affect everyday life when you have MS. It's quite a debilitating thing to have and can take you out for weeks. I hope some of the information I have provided will help you.

    Hi Laura
Apologies this is a long one.
So weird you talked about migraines and fatigue. I just shook off a 2 day migraine. This is the first migraine I have had in months. Fatigue really has got hold of me lately, no motivation to do anything. Even standing for more than two minutes and I can feel the fatigue, lumbar pain, blurred vision and migraine about to start. I did a tiny project of making a shelf on Tuesday, some light sawing of wood, and drilling holes. OMG it knocked me on my arse and I'm 6'5" I think this was really why I got the migraine.
This heat is awful, I assumed that the hot weather would be good for my MS I was so wrong.
I mentioned to you previously that have been taking CBD oil this last month, I started with 250mg of drops x2 a day, did nothing. Now I'm on 4800mg CBD oil spray and 1000mg of drops (2 separate CBD oils) been doing this x2 a day for the last week, its doing nothing and im so very dissapointed.

Hello 👋 Don't apologise, the longer the better :-)
Sorry to hear you've been having migraines too, they are horrible things and combined with the fatigue it's hard going. It's worse when you have things that you need to do, or if you are still trying to hold down a job because like you said you have no motivation to do anything but what do you do when you don't have a choice?
I'm a weird one and probably a small minority of people with MS who seems to thrive on heat, my body definitely feels better in the heat than the cold, but sorry to hear that it doesn't help you - the good news is that rain is on its way tomorrow! 😊
So I don't know much about CBD oil, I've not taken it (apart from tried a little chocolate with it in) From my understanding I think it's supposed to help with pain with Spasms, but I don't think it's been scientifically proved to be effective for MS as I read this morning after reading your comment. Maybe it's something you need to take over a period of time to see the effects? Similar to vitamins?
What were you trying to achieve with the CBD oil?
      Hope you're feeling better now

Sitting in the dark for weeks, I know that feel :/ Thank God for audiobooks. Have you tried those migrane glasses (red sunglasses)?

Audio books, podcasts and music 😊 I've not heard about the migraine glasses? Please could you send me the link?

@@lauraironstalksms BBC dramatizations or Graphic Audio audiobooks, that's something you need to taste. As for migraine glasses, I don't use them since I need moisture chamber sunglasses for my dry eyes. You can get migraine glasses on Amazon. Or google "migraine glasses reddit", lots of info outhere.
