This guy is absolutely brilliant, very talented. You have the horde of 80's synth artists, who are good in their own right, but Carpenter Brut is on an entirely different level...
He does his own thing, which is a bit hard-edged or heavy and sometimes brings in gross dubstep, but is very original, intelligent, and pretty clear about what he wants to do. There are also Mitch Murder and Dynatron, my two favorites, Powerglove (FC3 spinoff music), and to roughly complete the taste bases, Lazerhawk. Also, there is the Master Spy soundtrack by RAC.
Please add Jasper Byrne. I'd like to have Perturbator on the list but... the good old days of Night Driving Avenger and Sexualizer are never coming back.
Imagine you survived an apocalypse and you think you're the only one. You wander through the streets and lands, searching for food, shelter and other survivors. Your hope for the latter fades more and more with every passing day. Then, as another fatal storm approaches, you search for a place to hide and stay until it is safe again. As you are arriving at an abandoned, mostly destroyed village, you suddenly hear a strange noise. It sounds like music, something you haven't heard for a long time. And it's coming from a church, the only building of the village that's still standing. What will you do?
i can think of a monologue going through the music as a camera switches to numerous scenes that invoke despair. _Rise! They are here to free us from our decaying realm! Take it as a salvation! It is salvation!_ *A man is holding a door shut against a group of undead as they break in just as the scene switches* _God himself is calling to us! He wants to set you freeee!_ *Two people fighting to the death on a car, eventually the other falls off into a horde of zombies* _This is your one true calling, what are you waiting for? Come and set yourself free!_ *Just as a few flesh eating maniacs break through a barricaded doorway, a man shoots himself in the head*

I've been listening to this song almost daily for 4 years. It is unlike any other piece of music I've ever heard. It comforts me and inspires me to action at the same time. There's a very human story in this song. Thank you for making this, Carpenter Brut.
I love the feeling of progression in carpenter bruts songs, its like listening to a story. A story more badass than the other, a story that makes you feel cinically evil inside and high at the same time.
Exactly, well said. Although to me it's not "evil" but rather... turmoil, unresolved tension and aggression. But the story provides with subversion, and finally release, freedom. It is a story of existential success.
The decisions you make and the actions that follow, are a reflection of who you are. You cannot hide from yourself. Thank you genndy for creating samurai jack. It literally was my whole childhood.
The first half of the song feels rough. Like going through a valley of insanity. The other half feels like a relief. Whats done is done and now you face the final situation. I fucking love the song.
@@davilsonization it feels more like the hero has gone insane after the villain's actions and is threathning the well being of the world, it is up to him to save the verry world he once wanted to destroy

maybe true, but even at that they weren't necessarily the first to put forth a solid compilation in this field, both the GTA series and the soundtrack to Drive prior.
I like how 2:40 basically is a beat drop and an introduction to another buildup all in one (this also goes for 3:14 which is honestly the best part of the entire song). I like carpenter brut's songs because they tell a story and progress with different stages, with this song being no different
