Seven years have passed since the death of Avatar Kuruk. After multiple failed attempts at finding the new Avatar using the Earth Kingdom's methods, former Avatar Kuruk Companions Kelsang and Jianzhu decide to try their luck using the Air Nomad's way of finding the Avatar. During their search in Yokoya, among the many children they'd tested, one is a young orphan by the name of Kyoshi...

@@sanije6428 They made Korrasami in the comics. Nickelodeon, like most kids show channels along with Disney doesn't have a lot of lgbt representation. But Avatar is their own studio now so it could be a possibility.

Seriously though! This is great! Almost every single one of my favorite artists are in this, all except Cazzarts. Add on the fact that the intro! Its voiced by rangi! THATS AMAZING!

Aight I'm gonna watch it over and over again because I will never get enough of this perfection. Comedic transition, soundtracks changing as emotions and situations differ, artwork and priceless effort had been spent, which one I should focus on more? Thank you for giving Kyoshi books life with your work. We are truly lucky since we have people like you in this fandom.

Gotta admit, though, I was a bit surprised to see so much of Kuruk's story revealed.

The music, the voice actors, the timing and overall design and the ART?? Incredible work
[SPOILER WARNING: do not read unless you have read the novels]
Pretty great all around, but not a fan of the decision to reveal so much of Kuruk’s story right at the start. I love the way the novel initially frames the reader’s perception of Kuruk through the very critical eyes of Jianzhu and Kyoshi, then eventually reveals him as a misunderstood hero in Book 2. By putting all of that at the start, you spoil that twist for new viewers, and thus weaken the effect of Kyoshi’s arc with coming around on Kuruk.
Personally, I would have opened with Jianzhu narrating, like the book does. Not only does this establish the general contempt for Kuruk, which we later get the catharsis of tearing down, but it also unconsciously biases the reader towards thinking of Jianzhu as a primary protagonist, making his later betrayal all the more shocking.
Director here. So I understand where you're coming from but there is a method to the madness, while the circumstances were unknown, it *was* well known that Kuruk was a great hunter and that his "most dangerous game" was Spirits. It was also implied by both the books and the TLA series that Kuruk losing Ummi to Koh the Face Stealer was common knowledge at the time (at least to those in Kuruk's circle). This was more to establish a rough idea what kinda Avatar Kuruk was to those who didn't read the books. I'll still leave the circumstances as to why a surprise for those who haven't read the book.
Also all following episodes will have a much shorter opening with that stuff not mentioned, much like how TLA and Korra had shorter openings after their first episodes opening.
But I do appreciate the feedback all the same!

Sorry if I came across a little harsh - I really do think that what you’re doing here is amazing. With the amount of work that’s gone into it, it’s obviously a labor of love. It’s my own love for the material that makes me feel so strongly about what is ultimately a minor detail.
By the way, I don’t know if you noticed, but I added this series to IMDb.

The voice acting is seriously on point here, and the video game aesthetic is definitely an interesting take on the narrative. This kinda feels like a JRPG like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.

Edit: I read that in order to make longer episodes you’re going to need more people to do work. I’m not a great artist and an even worse composer, but I would love to help with voice acting. I’m not a native English speaker (though fluent) and haven’t really done any voice acting work before but I’d love to help with this project anyway if you would be willing to give me a shot.

Holy crap this is so cool! I just recently read the Kyoshi novels, so I'm really excited to see more! I love the way you guys drew the characters, especially Kelsang and Kyoshi.

It's amazing that this show has had such an effect on its fandom that we still love and appreciate it THIRTEEN YEARS after it ended
The same goes for the Indiana Jones series, the "Matrix" series, the X-MEN series, the recent announcement of Sonic SatAM revival, the "Jurassic" series, and so on and so on of the other few dozen series that are still remembered and demanded years later. "Korra" and "The Last Airbender" are no different.

I just started listening to the rise of Kyoshi on audible. Let me just say, Ima need more of these videos to paint a better and clearer picture in my head plz. Because the kelang i image was completely different looking for some reason. And I didn’t even have an image for jianzhu, rangi, or the other characters. Thanks mate
