I never understand where these people sell to pawn stars instead of just finding collectors, like I know it's tough to find but its worth it for 15 - 20k more money
they do it for the publicity, by showing them to the television, they would find collectors more easily
Some do it for quick cash also. Instead of taking it to an auction they rather not deal with it.
@@dannypizza24 Because the auction can cost 20% and 30% fee which is for me unfair. That's why i would rather sell it to collector than auction
Because you can see yourself on tv, it is free advertisement, that's why
@@kayllenstarships9009 I agree, it makes no sense why it should be a percentage neither. For example at one auction house up to €1M the seller pays 15%+1.25% insurance and the buyer pays 22.5%. So basically if I sell something for €100k I'm paying the auction house 16250 and the buyer pays 22500. That's almost €40k to the auction house. For that kind of money I could pay a full time employee for a year finding a buyer for me.

I don’t understand why people expect the full amount that it could get at an auction, it’s a pawn shop, they are not collectors, if you wanted the full value just auction it yourself. Pawn shops are for people who are desperate for quick cash, they take the item then sell it at auction.

If he wanted $35k then he should have took it to an auction or found a collector, not take it to a pawn shop who is just going to resell it for a profit. It's like these people don't understand the concept of a pawn shop
people just go on here so they can be on tv lol
At an auction though you have to pay like a 10-15% fee depending to the auction house so if it goes for 30k he would lose more money so it's worth trying to go to a pawn shop first and trying to just get 30-35k
Avery Salak and that’s when you put a reserve price
david montiel - yeah but then they take 20-25% fee so you'd have to raise your reserve price
Avery Salak if it sold for 35,000 and they took 20% it would still be better than the 22,000 offer

If you need both faces to say "20" to have a 20 dollar value it means this is technically a 15 dollar bill, not 30.
Hahaha, I was thinking the exact same thing. The way they're stating this would make a regular $20 bill a $40 bill.
rodolfolm I dont get it
@@6z0 A regular $20 bill has a $20 on both the front and back of the bill, thus making it a $20 bill. This rare bill has $20 on one side while the other has $10, thus making it a $15 bill. Easy math would be $20 + $20 = $40 / 2 = $20. You divide by 2 because a bill has 2 sides. With the rare bill, it's $20 + $10 = $30 / 2 = $15. Thus this bill is really a $15 and not a $30 bill. The way they're stating it, it would make a regular $20 a $40 bill as all they did was add $20 + $10 to get $30.
