This is a drama I watch over and over and I still donât get bored of it. Itâs that good.
the entire soundtrack is phenomenal, especially "Wuji" sung by the 2 main characters Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan. i can't get over this drama.
The white head band that Lan Wangji always wear around his forehead can only be touch by him, his significant other, and their child if they have it's a sacred rule in their Lan Clan. And then there's Wei Wuxian shamelessly touching the headband every chance he could it's okay tho he doesn't know the sacred rule about it.đđđ
But Lan Zhan never stopped him of touching it except when they just met. Lan Zhan gave so much signs and hints and Wei Ying didn't realise any of them, that always makes me laugh and cryđčđ
He knows tho.. lan zhan stopped him for touching the headband the first time wuxian tried to touch it when he was drunk. And so he didnt touch it at that time dismissing it saying "what girl would want to marry you" but I think the first time wwx touched it was at that cold pond while meeting lwj's ansestor and lwj tied both of their hands with the band so it could protect wwx
Wei Wuxian just a different breed.

Yes, this is why the Untamed is so beautiful .You don't need to see them kissing or anything, because the actors did such a wonderful job portraying their characters feelings towards eachother. I love the books where you have those more touchy and spicy scenes as well but I personally prefer the live action and animated series where all we have is their feelings. It makes their love story so much more beautiful to me.
My favorite CDrama!! If you have never watched this show before it is well worth it. There are about 50 episodes. You are exactly right Joseph, their chemistry tells the story. No spoilers anyone!!!

Dude you need to know that this show makes pain an art form. It's so beautiful and the story and characters are so complex, but you NEED to have tissues ready. And the timelines are a bit complex.

Yes!!! That's exactly the beauty of The Untamed compare to other BL dramas with overly touchy and kissing scenes. What set it apart from others. That despite of not having the touchy and kissing scenes, the actors were still able to portray the intensed love between the main characters. Deeper meaning. Higher level. â€â€â€

This is the best TV series ever !!! Period! The Untamed for me is the most Romantic out of all BLs ever ! The acting, the plot, the music is of superior quality.
the beauty of the untamed and why it's so iconic is that you don't need overly intimate scenes to know what's there. you just know, they're meant for eachother. soulmates.
also, you should def give this series a watch. the protagonist in black is kind of an anti-hero who goes against the ways of the world (for reasons) and the protagonist in white has deeply embedded beliefs that he works through after catching feelings for the one in black who's become an enemy of the world.

I've read the novel of this on 2020 and I still can't get enough of this!đ Istg you should read the novel of this if you have time I assure you it doesn't dissapoint, especially when Lan Wangji gets drunk lol he's so funny and cute. I still wanna give a very big tight hug to We Wuxian after what he had gone through, in this novel you will realize people will hate you just because you're peculiar, true, and knows what's wrong and what's right. I'm so happy after how many years Wei Wuxian died and then reincarnated Lan Wangji finally gives Wei Wuxian what he deserve to be treated and finally confesses his feelings omg I'm still so happy when I remember that scene Wei Wuxian is so shameless in that part!đâ€ïž
Omg Wei Ying has to be the most shameless character ever đ along with Wen Kexing from WOH. Also, if you plan on reading the novel, just know that thereâs ZERO censorship in it. Like NOT AT ALL if you know what I mean đ it is a 18+ rated novel. And to me, one of the best things about that book is the character development that Wangji and Wuxian have. It is amazing to see. That's my favorite drama ever, novel, and donghua too. The love between these two is just the most real thing i ever saw in a fictional history. Lan Zhan loves Wei Ying with all he have, he gave everything he could, it's just on point. I cry everytime i see what they passed through to be togheter.

Ahh I loved this drama so much ! just characters and plot was so interesting even though it had little poor production :) It had so much emotions and their love was so clear even if it had been censored :/
i've only seen half of this series so far, but it's a really beautiful story despite the fact that they had to dance around chinese censorship laws regarding lgbtq stuff on tv. it sucks that they had to do that, but i'm really glad they had these two as the leads because they did such an amazing job at portraying their relationship even without being able to do anything explicitly romantic

The Untamed is a black hole that can NEVER be escaped! lol..... The best part is that you will NEVER want to escape! I watched it over 2 years ago, and I still re-watch it to this day. I now own the DVD, books, and multiple merch from the series. It is one of THE BEST love stories that I have ever read. THE BEST story that I have read is another book from the same author. The story is HEAVEN'S OFFICIAL BLESSING.

It's funny, it's dramatic, it's romantic, it's dark (I cry a lot ! ) and it is one of the most beautiful love story, even if , with the chinese censorship, there is not a single kiss between the 2 men. But the stares , smile, and behavior are enough to tell the truth. You should watch this Dama ! (aaah, I miss them !) OMG that show was sooooo good!!!!! The guy that plays Lan Wangji (Wang Yibo) used to be a part of a kpop group called UNIQ! He is damn good dancer, singer and rapper. That show will get you all in your feels. Really though, that show is 100/10. I clicked on it on a whim because Netflix showed me a preview and I thought the guy who played Wei Wuxian (Xiao Zhan) was gorgeous and I absolutely do not regret it. I have watched it all the way through multiple times. If you watch it on patreon I will be soooo there for it! I'm not giving you any details though cuz spoilers suck lol.

When you are done with untamed and enjoying most of the contents, please watch word of honor too.. It's another really great one and their chemistry is also amazing..Wangxian and Wenzhou are both so lovely but in different ways.

Everyone else is confessing, so I will too. I am currently watching The Untamed for the 15th time. It has taken a lot of self-restraint to keep it down to 15. Many people finish the series and go straight back to episode one. I understand them completely.

If you watch the full series, the director sneaks in progress to their relationship. I love this series bc it's a good ending. I feel like most bl ends up with someone always hurt or dying. I'm just glad to see a series that shows that a bl couple can be happy too. đđ

I totally agree with you! You really felt the love without all the physical affection. Personally the chemistry of the two the love through actions between the characters was what really sold their relationship to me. They literally would be willing to die for each other. Seeing them go through emotional and physical hardship together in which they grow as people and grow their relationship is what was really touching for me.
You always react to the least things I expect from you and I LOVE IT! I spent the whole summer of 2019 crying over Yibo and xiaozhan from The untamed ! I watched every fan made vid of them on every platform T____T I love their relationship outside the drama too and they are both friends of Lay from EXO and amazing artists! Omg! My fave CDrama ever. I watched this more times then I can even calculate. Also Iâm also reading the manga (Mo Dao Zhu Shi) and watching the animation. For them not being able to outwardly/bluntly show their relationship (in the live action) I love that their love was still captured very well.

This series is nearly perfect in all aspects I can think of. Script, chemistry, act, directing, editing, even all of the original soundtracks are beautiful. It's one of those example of well loved story, as all of the person involved in this production REALLY love this series so much.
When you finished watching, you'd feel like 50 episodes is not enough and you'd crave for more. Which usually ended by rewatching it again and again and again XD
This series is also VERY loved in China, and it's the pride of Chinese people. Even the government are actively promoting this series even though it's been almost 3 years after this series aired. And it's also well loved all over the world.

It's just the sweetest romance story. The novel, live action C-drama, donghua (anime - on tencent) and manua are all sweet in their own ways. Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo have the most beautiful chemistry ever - the folks who put on the production were huge fans of the novel did their level best to include as much of the romance as they could, and the extended version has an added scene at the end where they find each other again and end up with Wei Wuxian chugging wine with Lan Wangji by a waterfall. In the book, they get married straight away (and break multiple bathtubs a week while banging like kinky bunnies), and lovingly raise a flock of junior disciples.
The actors are Ziao Zhan (Wei Wuxian) and Wang Yibo (Lan Wangji) and there are literally hundreds of videos of them all over youtube. Both are great singers too and Wang Yibo is an amazing dancer. The chemistry between them is truly special. I watched The Untamed on Netflix in the UK. I think the Chinese call this series Cheng Chin Ling and it's from a very famous novel. Watch all 50 episodes, you'll love it and will not want it to end

This show is something that you can never get over. I donât think Iâll ever find a show that hits me as hard at the untamed did. To be honest, although this show is censored the relationship between the two mains is one of the most (if not the most) intimate relationships Iâve seen in a show, their chemistry is beautiful and the show did so good at pushing the boundaries with the censorship

The first time a watched a video clip of this series I was hooked because the chemistry of Lan Wangji (Wang Yibo) and Wei Wuxian ( Xiao Zhan) was very palpable. That chemistry is still palpable in their real lives. I believe they're soulmates. I absolutely love this series and have lost count of how many times I've watched it. I bought my own copy of it but I still watch it online as well. You're right when you say that the subtle movements and nuances of their interaction makes it beautiful. One of them is quite restrained and the other is the opposite. They are absolutely beautiful.

"great series" is quite of an understatement and i wholeheartedly agree! words cant describe how much i love the storyline. I watched this and read the novel back in 2020 and the story hasn't left my mind since. it is a masterpiece. the author wrote the novel in a way that it makes you question morality. and if i may say so myself, the story reflects the society we live in Today. it's a great way to reflect our own behaviours around the people we live with, whether that's in-person or online. just!! kudos to mo xiang tong xiu!!

I love your reaction to the video. Cause the untamed is a show I canât explain in words. I love it so so much and the fact that we can see WWX and LWJ clearly in love without touching and kissing just through their eyes and facial expressions is incredible. Despite the beautiful acting from the actors the fact that the series had to pass the chinese censorship which doesnât really tolerant same-sex love is ironic cause it succeeded exactly in that. And itâs not just that what I love about it. The whole story has SO many massages to tell us which mostly arenât even said out loud directly. We are able to see and learn from them when we pay attention to the deeper meaning of actions and words of the characters. In general each character has its own equal treated (background) story and they are in The Untamed but also in the original novel (grandmaster of demonic cultivation) very well written. They are written in the novel (plus the manhua) and brought to live with the live-action series (plus the dongua and audio drama) so incredibly good. What I mean is that we can understand them fully after analyzing deeper meanings of what happened. They are (to some point) all relatable to us and our own pain. They are portrayed as realistic humans consisting of many sides and qualities. And I think that is one of the reasons why we as fans canât get over the untamed etc kept being stuck in our minds.
