I like what you’re doing. Am with you a guy has to work with what he has
Absolutely. We can only take so much out of the pocket book and we still need to feed the family 👍
Very impressive, as a rule of thumb, 35 hp per shank, and not to mention you are up to 18 inches deep when 12 to 14 is the norm. Definitely asking more out of the tractor than what it should be doing - and doing it well. I have actually worked in South Korea and seen these tractors belly deep in the muck of rice fields and getting the heck worked out of them. Growing up on the farm in Iowa, I am well aware of what is needed for a good workhorse. I would never be afraid of any Korean Ag product, they are well engineered and heavy built, and getting better every year. Great video, keep up the great work.
Thanks. It is really hard to tell how deep we are actually getting. I measured the best I could and it came in around 15-18. We are not going any deeper probably. Starting to ask a little much out of the Tractor, because the deeper I go I start to hit Flint rock layers. I think the S Korean tractor get a little bit of bad rap. You are correct these Tractors are ABSOLUTELY ABUSED in some of these countries.
Thanks for watching and your comment it is very much appreciated
Love the videos, how about if you sharpen the shanks a little? Do you think it will make a difference ?
Thank you. Those shanks are a little over 1” thick I believe hardened steel. I have seen shank guards that have a V cut to them but not for my style of shank. I don’t know how long it would stay sharp if I was to grind it down.
Take the wheels of the Ripper or raise them in the air. Much better traction because of weight transfer from ripper to tractor.
I choose to leave them to keep the ripper from sucking down under the bigger roots when I hit them. It already pulls down pretty hard when I hit a root. With the shape of these shanks I didn’t want to have the shanks bury themselves and the Draft control trying to over come that. That also would break allot of sheer bolts. I understand what you are saying though and agree it would definitely put more weight to the back wheels.
Thanks we appreciate it.
