This was one of the few shows where the casting was absolutely perfect: the chemistry was real, the acting was superb, and the emotions were palpable. And the musical moments were pure joy. I'm truly going to miss this show! Thank you for 5 wonderful seasons of magic, mystery, music, and mayhem!

Yeeeesss!!! The Musical moments! Those were so dope! This show has introduced me to A band called Active child! "CRUEL WORLD" was the initial song featured in an episode and since I've found that they have incredible music!
As sad as I am to see the show end, it closed with the perfect lesson, especially fitting to current events. External sources are unpredictable & unreliable circumstances, the magic that lives internally is the only one you can truly control.
Yes. They didn't cancel, they finished the story. And I am realy realy grateful for that. The whole series was a masterpiece (Screw you IMDb and your 7,5/10). I kinda expected the world to be created with Quentin in it, for some reason, but that would've been way too poetic for this series, I guess.

The magicians was and is the best show ever, the characters development and the knowledge and acceptance of their own flaws was something I liked about the show and didn't try paint it white. The magic in the show; was not only in the literal sense of it. Were the characters and I'll miss them

This is upsetting. This show was so good I watched every season at least twice before the next season.... I never do that. And, I feel like going through it all over again. I just love the world that they created and it's really sad that it's going away. I've had favorite shows but now that this one has become my number one favorite show I'm actually drawing a blank about what me previous favorite shows were... lol.

You can see their opinions at some interviews they had and it's almost like wtf are they thinking making us do this and that. But the show truly lost its charm after season 2 maybe 3, magic was used far less and became too much focused on drama and teeny stuff, CW like
This has been my favorite show since ever. I'm a huge fan. I stumbled over the first Magicians book by coincidence some 10-15 years ago, and when I later found out it was made as a show, I was blown away. I'm very sad to see the show isn't being renewed, but also, to be honest, I miss Quentin too much and I don't think the show was the same without him, so perhaps it is for the best.

I think Jason Ralph leaving removed a core element from the series. Kuddos to the writers and producers for coming up with excellent material to complete the story.

I am going to miss this show so much! Very rarely do I find the show / movie better then the books, but you guys really made the magicians your own and made it so special! I loved every minute of it. I truly hope this is not the end. We will miss you!

@@contaejus it's a useless petition given that the producers already shopped it around, and couldn't find a fit creatively or financially, and wanted it to end in a respectful manner.
I've seen so many of these it's just sad. They're in denial and won't stop annoying the producers who put so much work into this show and *already tried* to get it to another network and it didn't work out. Fans aren't going to change it.

I discovered the how this year and watched the whole 5 seasons in 3 weeks, it was so sad finding out they cancel the show but i am glad they had the opportunity to kinda have an end to their journey.

I’m really sad because I thought they were gonna announce another season at the end of the last episode like they did last year but when I saw the montage of all the memories they’ve made I was so sad cause this show has been so amazing and a lot of fun to re watch. I love how this show is dark while they search for the light in many ways. I’m gonna miss this show but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna binge it for the rest of my life 😂 the actors, directors, writers and editors are all amazing! Thank you for making the best show ever!

This is honestly the best show I've ever seen...
I can't even begin to detail how relatable it is/was... "The Magicians" takes the pain and struggle of everyday life and adds our dream element: Magic - what we believe can fix everything, but in fact, only adds depth to our problems.
There are no words to describe how us viewers saw ourselves portrayed in various characters and found solace in their struggles and development.
I think *everyone* can relate to the story, the challenges, and/or at least the characters of "The Magicians".
Everything about this show feels so real and relatable. It's hard to let it go... we can only hope another season or so gets picked up by a network that will do it justice.
I can't thank the writers enough for finding a way to mix magic and reality in such a way that I believe it's all real, and to the actors who have portrayed such identifiable characters to the point where I believe I was part of the story. And exponential props to the crew responsible for A+ filming and SFX - there aren't many shows that can boast such expert execution.

i can not believe they are ending this series, me and my wife absolutely loved every minute of this show. And is probably one of maybe 3 shows in the last 5 years we looked forward to watching every week and couldnt wait for it to return every time a new season started. the show had real emotion and really knew how to bring it out. i will miss this cast and the show that was just amazing.
I feel that the show has run its course and I am not too sad about it ending, what I will REALLY MISS will be the musical episodes
I feel the same about the show because if there was a season 6 it would seem like too much to try and completely sum the characters up. But thats why I love this show, no matter how dark things get, there's a new quest to occupy them and to help them heal through time. I'm still so sad about it's end but at least we can all create new ideas of how things could've played out if there was another season.

I believe that Quentin's death last season decreed the end of the series. The producers, believing they were making a "coup de théâtre", took out one of the protagonists most loved by the public to make room for the other characters. Nothing more wrong. Quentin was the heart and centerpiece of the series. He was the link with all the characters and stories. He has always been the one who believed most and loved Fillory when he didn't give a damn to others. I think the actors know that it is for this reason that they lost their job, I also believe that the producers thinking about their mistake have regretted it. The audience spoke up. Listens have fallen because people have felt lost and deluded. Many viewers recognized themselves in Quentin and its final release hurt. He should have returned at least for the series finale, but I think Jason Ralph, if asked, refused. I am very sorry for the cast because they are all trained and very good professionals. Surely they will soon find other engagements in TV series, Jade Tailor should be a full-time singer for me, and I hope they will bring this experience to your heart. I don't think the series will be picked up by some other network, unfortunately they ran out of ideas and the show is over.
I think this is not entirely true. I believe that the producers, Sera Gamble and others, some of whom even wrote scripts for some series, put a lot of themselves into the series. It's just that these are people who must not only be able to feel and open up for emotional creativity, as actors (whom are so great) but also rationally solve material issues so that the actors can shine.
And then, time is an inexorable factor, even Jason Ralph in season 100 (for example) can stop being who he was in episode 1 of season 1. And in this sense, the producers may have shown wisdom and even benefit for the actors and whole show as well, finishing the series at the peak of history and letting us say goodbye, smoothing the breakup with the help of the fifth season. Because now we will remember the actors and their characters just like that - brilliant and magnificent.

i honestly thought quentin’s death was earned and made sense for the series. part of his arc was the realization that he WASNT the center of the story. that although he loved something his whole life and wanted to be important to it, be a part of it, sometimes people play a more peripheral role.
the show spent a lot of time insisting on the mortality of the characters, the risk involved in the final timeline and how mistakes made will be permanent. his White Male Protaganism, as they call it in the show, is just an illusion caused by the framing of the story. he played a part and that’s all he needed to do; the magicians is not a story about one person but about the power of people.
Soo sad! Crying. I wanted to have more musical breaks.
I binged this show like crazy 😂 started 6 days ago and I’m done. Love this show, love all the characters. Lady of the tree was my favourite, but everyone on this show always had their moments. Penny, fen, Alice, Q, Elliot, Margo, kady, Julia, and josh. I will miss watching these guys on quests. Great show which will be dearly missed.

Never in my life have I ever felt like a show has become family, I thank all of you for being that for me. I've already gotten the books and will be getting the series on disc so I can re-visit anytime I wish. So many things stand out, the relationship with Eliot and Margo always makes me smile. Margo being able to let her guard down enough to love Josh is wonderful. I will never be able to watch the send off for Q without crying til I vomit. And Olivia? I'm not sure Alice will ever not have stress in her life..honey, we've met her mom. lol

Was there since day one, I knew The Magicians was something unique, special and different from the first episode...loosing Quentin was gut wrenching and now the show, more than my heart can bear...

So much potential for season 6. How much it would cost to fund season 6? If you put all fans together giving a bit of money I am pretty sure it is possible.
Netflix cancels a lot of good shows that they had too like sense8, the OA or one day at a time but it would be good to use them to get a 6th season
Actualy they tried but no talks have been succesuful. It still kind off hangs in the air tho.

it's months later and thanks to Netflix I'm just now binge watching the last episodes and I'm so sad it's almost over. I have to say I will never hear Under Pressure, Take on Me, Here I go Again or Don't Get me Wrong without seeing these guys ever again!
That's the problem with having a main protagonist. When Quentin died I knew it was over. It's often the case because no matter how good the other actors are, he was the central figure for 4 seasons. Shame really but 5 seasons is respectable for this kind of show, it was good and they should be proud.
This show got me through the pandemic & I loved it!! Hats off to the actors! You will be missed
The idiots at SyFy did the same thing with Dark Matter, one of the best sci fi series of the decade...
I've watched this show since day one and it has been such an amazing journey to see the cast and characters grow. What an honor! Thank you The Magicians cast and production team!
Yeah, Quentin's death buried the show. How unpredictable.
This one of the best shows ever,even after Quintan died. There's so much more that could happen with the new world.

This was one of the greatest shows I have seen about magic. Season 5 didn't answer alot of questions I still had. The character development and cast was the best part of the series. This was better than Harry Potter. Yeah I said it..
Shouldn't have killed off Quentin.
