  • Building our permaculture homestead in Ontario, the watchwords are “simple” and “effective,” and the milking stanchion for our one dairy cow is no exception. Here we show you the low-tech setup we’ve built to keep Gertrude confined and comfortably noshing on organic, non-GMO grain while we clean her teats and draw off her nutrient-rich milk.

Thanks for the information, we should have our first calf in April/May so I’ve been trying to learn and do my research before it comes time. What is your worming prep before calving to prevent any issues with raw milk?
