- Removing 2004 F150 fender emblems and installing RECON illuminated LED emblems made for 2009-2013 f150. The holes lined up exactly... Fast Forward to 4:36 Test Fit to see holes line up.
7 years later and they still work!!!!!

I would like to, but also like when they are on with the running lights. My XJ Jeep Cherokee has a side marker light [low intensity] that is on with the running lights, and flashes when the turn signal is on, which would do both, but the F150 doesn’t have that, it would be one or the other.

@Jeremy Hess you can't push 24 volts in any wire on a vehicle designed for 12 volt output. Two 12 volts does not compute to 24 volts... it doesn't work like that, it's still 12 volts. Also, LED's don't even take 12 volts, LED's are all lower voltage, around 5 volts max. LED's have special circuts that reduce 12 volts down to 5 volts or less... most are 3 volts or less.
You could certainly do that with a diode spliced into the positive wire and another spliced into a wire from the turn signals. The purpose of the diodes would be to keep the voltage from backfeeding from the turn signals into the parking lights (making them flash) and vice-versa.

A little heat from a hair dryer does wonders in helping get the sticky pad off. But never use a heat gun! They can get the paint finish to hot and cause damage.

Awesome video bro! I'm an LED junkie and this mod is sick, but....personally, i think the emblems are a little TOO bright. Where did u pick these up?
They look extra bright on camera. Brightness is just right IMO. I got them non ebay, search Brody Dog Auto Parts on ebay, best price. The newest ones may have a controller to change the color.
They are pretty cool looking. You can even change the colors with them now. But $300 is a tad more than I want for a lighted logo. Nice video though. Tell the haters to go blow their brothers (probably doing it already). Recon has some cool lighting options and really good quality but they are expensive.
I would prefer a blue glow, that would be sweet for my white 2016 F150 Lariat

a friend of mine did with the blinkers, wired right into the ones on the mirror, saved a hell of a lot of wire lol
Next time use a blow dryer helps loosen it a bit when it’s warmed up that a super cool easy mod love it

Yes, to separate the sticky backing from the emblem.

Great install video. I like it... but, it may be a tad too bright... a slightly dimmer bulb would've made it more subtle..

Thomas Rossi , there is no bulb, they are LED lights, you could very easily install a in line dimmer if you want to.

I live in NY (Long Island where road salt = RUST, probably worse where you are. I got this truck from Tenn. 5 years ago, still looks like new underneath (I maintain my own vehicles). Go out West and vehicles last "forever".
Looks nice, also why didn't you go with the chrome finish leds, I did, and it comes in 3 different colors you can switch from, clear, to amber, or red. Yours is nEATO too, lookn good, 👌✌️🤠👍 great job!!!!!!
Thanks! My truck is an FX4, has no chrome. Only the "newer" ones have a color choice, when I got mine you had to pick one color when purchasing. Yellow was the obvious choice for me, lol.

do you know how much power each light puts out? I wired a light bar on the front and I have another plug on the harness not in use. I was thinking about running these on my switch so they come on with my light bar. I just wasn't sure how much power they put out.

This is too RECON, if the are listening. Why don’t you sell the Siamese Connectors? Then you just unplug the Connector at the Lamp, plug in the Siamese Connector and Plug the add on into that for a Corrosion/Salt Resistant Connection.

I just installed an Led light bar on my 06 F-150, the wiring harness comes with an extra red and black. I wonder if this could be wired to my switch so they come on with my light bar. I don't really use my parking lights.

If you wire them to, they will blink with the blinkers. Mine are on when the parking lights are on.

Thank you. The LED headlights are OK, not great. Maybe newer ones are brighter. Projector housings would be ideal.

those look good hubjeep. and good job on the thourough intstall. bought em for my 16 f150. they say not made for it but im sure as lightweight as they are, i can cut off the plastic pegs on back if holes dont line up and double sided automotuve tape should keep them up there easily. what you think? great job again..
Thanks Nick. The pegs are only for alignment, the tape is what holds it on, and the tape on the back of these is very strong. Should be no problem as long as you have a hole for the power wire out the back.
Waxed Dental Floss works well for Taking off the Two Sided Taped on Objects. Heat Gun for the Tape. No Damage to the Paint. 99% Isopropyl for remaining tacky ness. I’m wondering how legal this is in Maryland, with less Covid, the Police are cracking down on illegal lighting, and modified exhaust systems. If you removed your CAT, the fines are super high.
