Smash Into Pieces kallar sig i kortform för Smash. Bandet bildades 2008, fick skivkontrakt 2013 och slog igenom brett 2017 med sitt tredje album Rise and Shine, där The Apocalypse DJ infördes. Det var till detta album som man etablerade sin nuvarande musikstil. Smash Into Pieces kallar sin ljudbild för SmashSound, där man blandar rock, electro och pop och benämner resultatet electrorock.

This was my personal winner, but I won’t be disappointed it didn’t win because a rock song coming in third place is REALLY good for being Sweden. I think this shows that if anything, Sweden DO want some more rock in Mello. \T/
I was incredibly surprised when they got third place. Loreen and Marcus and Martinus were obviously getting first and second. So. No surprise there. They were my personal favorite too.

@@Paulxl you also have to put into account that twice a rock band has won Eurovision ( lordi for Finland , and Maneskin for Italy : abba counts as pop rock , not hard rock like these guys )

We might produce countless of pop songs but we love rock too
Rock and all sorts of metal is VERY popular in Sweden, especially melodic metal. We have many many popular bands from Sweden besides Smash into pieces. I read statistics that say that Sweden have 22 metal bands per 100 000 people, only beaten in the world by FInland. But our metal scene and MelFest have never really crossed paths.

@@nocturne7371 Yeah! That means that we are one of those countries that likes rock/metal the most, looking it up and we land on 3d place as the country with the most rockbands in the world. Having Finland at nr 1, Iceland at nr 2 and Sweden at nr 3. One of my favorite rock/metal band from Sweden would be Avatar.

I wish Sweden could ever dare to send a rock song like this to ESC, Finland’s Blind Chanel did absolutely great and so would these guys. Best of luck in future and I am definitely going to your concert.
Ufff I‘m so happy I discovered them! This song has been on repeat on my playlist for the past few weeks. Would have loved to see them at Eurovision, even though the result was no surprise for me :)

Really disappointed in swedish people for not voting this masterpiece. Loreen's live performance was off tonight but these guys absolutely smashed it into pieces. Wish the band all the best, don't stop releasing these bangers!

Look at what happened with Lord of the Lost in Germany, the people's voting entirely subverted the international jury's vote, which had almost unanimously chosen another candidate. In Sweden the favourite was still Loreen even in the popular voting. Maybe next time! 🤞🤘🤘
Oh we voted! But there are other contestants too, that other ppl vote for so. But I'm really hoping they'll come back to Mello sometime. I'd love to see them on that stage again! And I'm really happy with a third place this year considering who they where up against 🤘🏻💥

I've noticed in this final performance, the filming itself isn't so erratic and choppy as it was in the heat, which is kind of a shame, the camera work in the heat made it extra hyped

would you stop overrate lorren based on her name and on her previous entry?! Her song this year is AVARAGE !!! Much bellow other swedish songs like "undo" or "hold me closer". If those songs which are much better didn't win, tattoo will 100% not win. Maybe a top 5 (and that only because its' Sweden) not nothing more. AVARAGE SONG !

@@noblicaa72 May be true, but idk there's something about Linking Park songs , though still good and very iconic. That didn't latch on for me. I think it was they way they where layed out melodically and the way they where sung. Smash Into Pieces suit my "listening style" better but yeah I can see why so many ppl might think so.

The good thing is they got into Top 3, at least, even if I feared it will be a lower place against Air and Royals (Loreen doesn't count here, I was rooting for her since the beginning, I knew everyone would support her and I'm happy with Tattoo winning), but with the televote, Sweden showed everyone they're ready to give rock these days! ❤❤
