Good times during the Argo Rally July 12-14, 2019. Spent a couple days out camping and driving around with Argo's. Music is from my own collection: Glenn Miller Orchestra - In The Mood & Little Brown Jug
Alaska Bush tracks work very well indeed. But like other tracks there are pros and cons. They do swim, but still not as well as just running tires. Unfortunately, while not in this video, we do have friends who have Alaska Bush tracks. Yes, they can get stuck. The con to Alaska Bush tracks is they tear up terrain far worse than the Argo 18” rubber tracks. One of the largest factors in Alaska for trail access and Department of Natural Resources regulations and restrictions to certain areas is terrain damage, second to overall machine weight. So while Alaska Bush tracks may get through an obstacle better than other tracks, a simple land anchor and winch will overcome the shortcomings and tear up less terrain. It’s what works for us and what we choose.
engineer12v, in short, when we have these rally's (our next one is this summer) the only criteria is that you have an Argo. That said, of course you could join us. However, I do not see it as effective for you to bring an Argo from Louisiana to Alaska to join in the Rally. We do not have anyplace here that rents Argo's.
I thought they didn't get stuck, then why the tow rope? Deep mud is their ruler. They are great in the marsh and water though. I would love to have one around here. I live close to you.
They don't get stuck... They merely run into an occasional delay. ;) lol The tow rope is there mainly to pull SxS's and other ATV's out when they get stuck; occasionally, the tow rope "assists" in shortening the length of time the Argo is "delayed" ;) hehehe.
Thank you for sharing
Great video 😁

You guys need some Alaska bush tracks on those machines, they swim and you will never get stuck.
