Millions of people know how to play guitar, but Gilmour is one of the very few people who can make it sing and give the instrument a soul of its own. He chooses the right notes at the right time and to the right effect.

underrated guitar player but I think he wanted it that way... I always loved Eddie Van Halen the most, but I still struggle with why Gilmour somehow seemed better, at times.... both of those guys know how to hit the core nerve in the human heart.

Every time, I say every time I see and hear this masterpiece it brings me to tears. Master Glimour's performance on this piece and others shatters the universe and the stars fall from the sky leaving only one and that is the Masters. If I have said it once I've said it ten thousand times, in my life I have witnessed the best and the worst but this concert PULSE is indeed the standard bearer, the bar as it were that all other concerts are judged, past, present, future, and those facts will never be in despite, PERIOD! Pink Floyd are the true consummate masters at their craft. There were none before, none present, none in the future that can compare. Only true masters can ever harness the shear power of the universe, and express it in both words and prose. Master Beethoven must have been the father of this group because they have every one of his masterful traits. Long live Master Syd, long live Pink Floyd. There is rock music then there is Pink Floyd.
We are just mere mortals, earthbound misfits I. In this piece, we saw the wizard, the mystic, and the sorcerers and touched the face of God. For God was watching.

How wonderful to hear you describe it this way! Gilmour and Beethoven are surely on the same plane! Ravi Shankar was describing masterful music as that which accomplishes an emotional response in all souls. And the most masterful as that which can create ecstasy and bliss. Igor Kufayev described the utmost transcendental state of bliss as being like a waterfall pouring in through the top of his head. It is the residue of this supreme substance etched eternally on Gilmour's soul that here sings and calls us to the ultimate. Thank God or whom or whatever you may call that perfection of splendour we all yearn for. And thank you for pausing to share.

I saw Waters perform The Wall recently, and midway into this song I just started sobbing uncontrollably. Man they say music touches people, but that hit me like a freight train. Nobody in the audience that night will ever be the same human being. I found and lost God, fell in and out of love, was conceived and died, all in the same moment. Unspeakable, unspeakable beauty...

I went to the Pulse tour in '94 when it stopped at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, TN. One of the most amazing concerts I've ever been to...still! You can joke about the mirrored ball all you want. In Nashville, it came up out a structure in the center of the stadium floor seating. With the smoke in the air, there were shafts of light rotating around the entire football stadium. When it opens and began to strobe, it was blinding from 50 yards away! And I was stone cold sober for it. Incredible!

Somehow, this song helped me every single time. I guess, when you hear someone singing, "..the child has grown, the dream is gone"- you feel like taking a stand. You want to do anything to make sure that dream stays for that child. You try harder, you toil more, you become bigger in heart and mind. Thanks!

Gilmour is a master musician with the ability to jam and flow in a melody like no one else. Pure genius. One of the last true gods of the guitar. All hail Gilmour!

I watch this and I merge with the Divine. I transcend experience. Time, world, cares, pain... they all stop. My heart opens with joy, and I am renewed in my faith that the human species has the potential to create and experience such beauty, the likes of which we can hardly imagine... if we so choose.
