  • The war in Ukraine is at a critical stage.
Russia continues to stretch out Ukrainian forces in several areas along the 600-mile front. Moscow has stepped up air raids.
"Our cities and communities suffer daily from such Russian strikes," Ukraine President Zelensky wrote in a post on Telegram.
Joining Host Jim Falk to talk about the current situation in Ukraine are:
Ambassador: Kay Bailey Hutchison who served as the U.S. Ambassador to NATO from 2017 to 2021.
and David J. Kramer the executive Director of the George W. Bush Institute. He is the author of, Back to Containment: Dealing with Putin’s Regime.
Many observers believe that neither Russia nor Ukraine has a decisive advantage. There is rising concern that the U.S. could be drifting towards another “forever war.”
Join our guests to hear more about this concern.

Both quests have a good grasp of the situation.

As long as the end is not in the works, it won’t be in sight.

UKR works for it. We only have to ensure UKR's victory.
No western country can interfere and "constrcut" something. That plays only in Putin's hands.
Putin does not fight UKR. He fights the west. He tries to force western countries to put pressure on Kyiv.
The moment, UKR will be forced to negotiate, Putin knows that Kyiv also has to present results.
This is why Trump will never end the war.
The only end is in reach with a humiliating success of UKR. It IS already WW3 - we can ignore it but we won't change it.

Speaking out of both sides of her mouth here. If we recognize all the territory as Ukrainian (as we should) there is nothing to "negotiate" with Putin. Any failure to do that no matter how you try to dress it up end\s up rewarding Russian aggression.

They're way too soft on Trump, probably because their careers may depend on him.
    Otherwise, a good discussion.

You say you don't trust polls in general but mention that "the vast majority of Ukrainians support Zelenskii", this in a country who has barbwired their borders with Hungary and Romania to prevent people leaving the country, has banned most of the press and all the opposition parties. But the key point here is, when you say "the vast majority of Ukrainians say this or that", do you include the people from Crimea and the Donbass? Or you accept they are not Ukrainians? Or, more simply, you just don't care about their opinion...

Easy to make assumptions. Are you from Ukraine? I am betting you are not. How many people do you know from the area's you highlighted? Again probably none. I however do. Family and friends. Russia Annexed and called a referendum. I may add under gunpoint. The vast majority don't want to be part of Russia. Simple fact is they are terrified to do or say anything.

Kinda funny watching Slavs hate fellow Slavs.
Over the promise of Western money and envy of the Germans.
Ukraine is a rump state and a fascist vassal of the Western globalist elite.

Your BS is lacking any logic.
Yes, polls in UKR support Zelensky - that are polls from independent sources - not state owned. If You don't trust them, then show me the mass demonstrations against the government!
UKR is under martial law - males able to fight are not allowed to leave the country. No country in history that was at war did ever allow their males to leave the country.
Even in US during Vietnam war You saw men fleeing the country and avoid the draft.
Why do I still read and see articles from the (as You describe it) banned press? Where is the banned opposition?
      Your're a blatant liar.
And nice point: You want to hear the voices of the people of Donbas or Crimea? How about asking them before You invade?
Nobody in Crimea was asked if they like russian soldiers showing up, nobody in Donbas wanted Russians to invade.
Russia itself never asked UN for a referendum (supervised by UN or OSCE) - they just rolled their tanks in there.
And what about people in Kherson or Saporishya? Following the "great liberator" in Kremlin, they never asked for "liberation", they weren't suppressed.
But hey - what do I know? You surely have some special insights all the mainstream media from the west doesn't have.
What a pity that Prigoshin, the greatest russian patriot ever seen on battlefield admitted how Russia invented all these lies, You stupidly repeat.
Don't worry! Putler went too far. You won't save this bastard from justice.

      Not "in general". In Russia.
Russia is a fascist and soon, a totalitarian dictatorship. Make the obvious conclusions.
