Mini-input from my side:
At least with my Zbrush I had to save the macro .txt-file in a folder (I created one in ZStartup/Macros/ and named it "New Macros"). Otherwise Zbrush was not able to "find" the newly created macros. Maybe this is of some help for others.

Macro text file needs to be saved inside a separate folder at the path ZStartup>Macros. Just like zbrush's ready made macros are under 'Misc' folder.

Just a heads up: in the older versions it seems a restart of ZBrush is required for the new macros to appear in the menu.
