For future reference, yes there is a pluggin for that liscence plate light. You have to remove your seat, rack and top fender cover to get to all the pluggins. Just an FYI. You didn't need to cut the wires.

I eliminated mine until the first time i rode in mud ending up hanging a piece of rubber off the plate

Yeah, that rear fender is ugly, but it's not useless. We'll see how it goes - I tend to avoid mud as much as I can, so I don't know if it'll be much of an issue for me.

What about putting the side reflectors on the side of the plate in one of the two holes there? They may be more visible.
