If I remember correctly, the riff throughout the song was ment to remind people of the sound of the trains that took the people to the various camps.
Especially the portion where it comes in after the Violin.
It's easiest to recognize by listening to the drum pattern. It's just subtle enough that it hits really hard ones you recognize the sound and rythm of it.
Really well done.
I'm agree with you, keyboard is outstanding here and Joakim sounds sad, it's a really sad song. Never forget or history could repeat.
Absolutely
Not could repeat....will repeat
@Royalty Free
As sad as it is, it's true. Maybe not to the level of the Holocaust, but it's just hunan nature to commit horrible atrocities. Whether it be on eachother or some other species, humanity is inherently violent.
Sadly this was not the last time that something like this has happened, far from it, something very similar happened in the Yugoslav Wars from 1991 to 2001. Sabaton has a song about it: We Burn
Definitely Added to the List!
It's also happening right now in China. "History shall never repeat itself" and yet it is repeating RIGHT NOW. Just not here.
@@MrProthall The problem is what to do about it. We can't really declare war on China and invade to stop it.
It just so happens that the 82nd anniversary of Kristallnacht was yesterday going into today-- it lasted 2 days. Your timing has been good lately.
WOW thats INSANE!!! I cant believe how crazy the timings been. And not on purpose either.
Thank you guys for taking a look at Sabaton songs, and I agree with a lot of what you had to say in this vid. Please check out Inmate 4859. It’s about Witold Pilecki of the Polish home army.
Added Thank you for watching and the suggestions.
I can recommend a great Sabaton song called Hill 3234. It is about a recent event from 1987 when 39 Soviet soldiers defended a key point against 250 well-armed Mujahideen rebels in Afghanistan. Only 6 Soviets died while they killed about 200 Afghan soldiers.
Added!
@@v3tReacts MAKE SURE TO DO ONLY THIS VERSION -- ITS THE BEST! But don't forget to turn on the CC so you can see the lyrics! czcams.com/video/3qMT20Z2NEU/video.html
The song isn't new. It came from the Coat of Arms album, which was released in 2010. And well, you can figure out what the song is about. About one of the most horrible atrocities that mankind ever committed.
I don't call this a favorite song because that wouldn't fit. I refer to it as a favorite piece of music.
I have heard this song live during the last Tour in 2017. They had an acoustic version of this song. That was damn chilling.
When Eisenhower knew of those camps, these were the word he said.
"We are told the American soldier does not know what he fighting for. Now, at least, we know what he is fighting against.”
thats powerful
Above the gates of Auschwitz that say "Arbeit Macht Frei" Translates to "work will set you free" Or "Work makes you Free" (To my understanding)
That guitar riff in the opening that you two were wondering about? The guitarist wrote it so that it sounded like the wheels of a train on rails, which was the last sound millions heard before entering the camps.
😲😲😲😲🤘🤘🤘🤘💯💯💯
Im a third German, so I can understand the feeling of feeling embarrassed of being German. We can all agree he was an awful person but I can't help admit he was a masterclass speaker, that's mostly why he was able to get so many behind him, he knew how to talk and get the masses riled up and into what's he's saying.
I'm a Jew, not Askenazi not a Holocaust descendant, but a descenant of other near "exterminations" ... Inquisition, Babylonian, Roman, Egyptian, etc. I am Sepharadim (some of my ancestors family died in a massacre in Barcelona, others were condemned to fire by the inquisition in Andalucia, even in Mexico City my ancestors kept being executed). You should not feel embarrased for what YOU did not do. It does not matter if they were German, they were people, they were in despair. A despot took over their government and promised them greatness. I blame no German. I blame the masterminds of this genocide. Let us all come to an agreement that we will not let this ever happen again, to any group of people. EVER! Germans are a great group of people, with an amazing history that I admire. Don't feel ashamed of your heritage because of one man's maniputation. Germans are some of the nicest people I personally know.
@@albertskykingLove and kindness can overcome hatred and darkness. World War 2 and the Holocaust brought out the worst in humanity but simultaneously brought out the best of mankind as well.
@@siervodedios5952 I want to always believe kindness will always overcome. We are all humans no matter what hats we wear or what color our skin is. We are a lot more than our religions and cultures! We are greater than that! Until we realize it, we will continue to try to kill each other.
It was not all of Germany, it was the Nazi party, Hitler, and the SS. Most of the Werhmact didn't even know what was happening back at home and that Hitler was doing that. And of course the people didn't want to speak out otherwise they would be sent to concentration camps. I have german blood in me and I am damn proud of it, the fatherland has had some dark times but I don't let it take away from my pride.
I'm happy to see that you are proud to be german, thats how it should be. :) Support from Finland
Every country has something in their history, to be ashamed of. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't be be proud of your country. Gustavus Adolphus "Lion from the North" of Sweden and his army, actually burned and slaughtered town after town, in big parts of Central Europe, mostly in Germany. Today we would define it terrorism.... Back then it was called heroism... (That king actually did some job in my neighbourhood as well. The part of Sweden where I come from, belonged to Denmark back then.. ) I'm still proud of my country today. But we should never forget our history, the good and the bad parts.
I look at Germany today and I see a strong and well respected nation. Even though you have issues to deal with, but we all do.
Of course
I am glad you are proud. Nothing wrong about that. But the idea that the army was mostly clean isn’t true. I used to believe that, but the army was for example fully involved in collective punishments. They would execute 50 or 100 civilions for every soldier killed by resistance. They did this in Greece, Balkans, USSR. The general staff also ordered full compliance with what they called the harsh treatment of commisars and jews during Barbarossa. But the generals wrote a lot of the histories and the West-German army needed to be intergrated into NATO.
Love this reaction. What happened back then makes me sad and angry. We should never forget and those things can never happen again. Never.
This song has actually been around for many years. The official video is new, though.
This song hits hard, but it needs to be seen. By everyone.
@@benjaminoravecz4686 and so are you.
This was the first use of the precursor to Critical R@ce Theory. It always ends the same way: atrocity.
Im German and not gonna lie..it makes me speechless no matter how many times I listen to it… from the earliest times, humans always did the worst things to other humans and it got more cruel as time goes on….This one was not the largest Genocide in the History of Human kind but the most cruel.
Rest in Peace innocent Souls may this kind of tragedy never happen again.
This song is so sad my mother which our family keeps the same religion as the Jews can’t listen to this song it’s too sad for her and.....history can never be forgotten......and it needs to be known....”Those Who Do Not Know History Are Doomed To Repeat It”
This song gives me chills!
It's sad to know that many young uneducated people today actively deny that the holocaust happened, but also think its a subject to be joked about as well... It is truly appalling.
Want holcaust jokes Come to Finland becouse we are absolute fucks and asshole that like dark humor
It's not just young people that deny what happened.
Sorry but why do you say young people i dont really think that this is true there are much more older pepole who do that
yeah i was born in the fifties, this burned, learnt it off my parents over this side of the pond.
it can't happen again.
stay safe brother
Shall it never happen again :prays:
@@v3tReacts my parents went to school with gas masks. the playing fields had air raid shelters . their parents were fighting or making ammunition as fast as possible.
in order to crush these people.
I recommend watching the documentery about Einsatzgruppen that was behind most of terrible things when Germany invaded Poland and eastern Europe ! It was a special force that followed the normal army, that didnt know what was going at start of the war. It was 2700 men in 7 groups during the war that rallied up slaughterd and made work camps of villages and citys when the regular army moved on!

@@v3tReacts Had to post it after Back2school said he is ashame from being of german heratic, majority of Germans didnt know about this for years or even up close to the end! The documentery really explains alot, think its on Netflix. Thanks again for a great reaction \m/

What to say about this song, honestly I wish there wasn’t a reason to ever write it, but as you guys correctly stated, never forget history an even more important, learn from the misstakes (one thing we humans don’t tend to do.....)
I’m asking myself how can one man manipulate a whole nation of educated people and lead them into total darkness, it’s a riddle to me!!
I would also wish that you could react to Poltava and Lion from the North, two of my Sabaton favourites
Added to the list this is what I am talking about community involvement lets go!
@Zerox The boi just to clarify, "class warfare" is not something an individual does, it's a socioeconomic conflict that exists in all societies with a class system. For example, the perpetual conflict between workers and owners over wages is one example of class warfare.
its not hard to understand why because germany was a ruin of it formerself after the great was they also lost all thier industry and was expected to pay the winners with money they could not get their hands on becuase the could'nt produce any thing valuable, and they had a class struggle and the people were angry and afraid adn sad because they could'nt feed their family, so to answer why he was ablo to so it, it was as easy as stealing from a baby the germans needed a messia and hitler provided them with one, plus he gave them jobs food and pay, but behind the sceens things were different as we now, but the population did'nt know about his ultimate goals before it was to late and he was already dicatory of germany,
Like Disturbed once said in one of there songs " Never Again"!
This was stated on the lyric video's comments, but the bassline sounds like a narrow gauge steam engine train.
God, that chorus with just Joakim, and a single drum kick, is such a heartbreaking punch to the chest
This song is really hitting me in the feels. This is so deep and sad. #fuckhitlerworsthumanbeing
to true
I highly recommend Sabaton's Inmate 4859. It's another very powerful though sad song. And if I can recommend the specific video, I'd say the fanvideo by GhostDog. The song itself is about Witold Pilecki, a Polish soldier who was part of the resistance who intentionally got arrested to be put into Auschwitz to learn what was going on and set up an information network in the prison. He tried to bring attention to what was going on, but when no help from the Allies came he was forced to escape and later joined the Warsaw Uprising.
3rd request for this definitely will be next
Another great reaction, thank you for doing this one, I had been looking forward to you guys eventually getting to this song.. it really is a sad one but it is a story that should be told..
Sabaton - The Last Battle, this would be another great one for you guys to cover!
The US & German Army coming together to fight the remnants of the SS in a castle seige...
I reacted to that one I believe but if B2S hasn't heard It I will Show him for sure
Teachers aren't teaching about the hollicost there saying it never happened. Pisses me off there trying to rewrite history. Thank God for bands like this keeping it alive

You guys should check out Nuclear Attack
hmmmm seem to catch what that might be about
Am I Evil if I said this is one of my favorite songs by them......... My numbers 1 I would say is Screaming Eagles and 2 is a new one Devil Dogs. 3 The last Battle 4 this 5 The End of the war to end war.
no because you are speaking about the band not the tragedy in the music.
While this song hits hard, the Sabaton History Channel episode about it hits far harder
Strongly recommend checking out The Ballad of Bull!
Added it to the list
If no one pointed it out the guitar is mimicking the trains
Not sure I caught it tbh lmao
8:38 That thing that makes you and you angry, makes me trust you in a foxhole against evil.
Bravo @v3t, @B2S and @vocalcrow this was a tough one. I am a few years older than you B2S so I know what you were talking about watching films in school and hearing first hand from camp survivors what happened. Just a perfect storm of events happened: failure of the German democratic government after WW1, the worldwide depression hit Europe in the early '30s, and the historical enmity towards the Jews Slavs and any other non-Aryan all combined to propel Hitler to power and the country followed. Props to Sabaton for the song, props to you guys for tackling it.
Its definitely a heart puller but we keep history here to be learned just passing along the message :)
@@v3tReacts Want something a little lighter? Check out the Bombshell Belles cover of Sabaton's 'The Last Stand.'

Sadly this song has been taken in the wrong way at times by people that refuse to truly listen to it. Their songs Wehrmacht and The Rise of Evil, have also been taken wrongly.
These guys keep history alive and some people prove that history for some is ignored because of their own personal beliefs and actions. The more we try to keep the truth of history alive, others twist it for their own gain.
This band just wants to keep it all alive.
Best band ever. Not afraid to sing about touchy subjects. Sadly some woke idiots would like to see songs like this banned
Great reaction! I also had the same reaction, aside from this there are many other sabaton songs that brings a tear to my eye, one is En Livstid I Krig that you already did but another one I hope you can react to is "The Ballad of Bull" from Sabatons "Heroes" Album.
I you think you're up for the challenge read about Leslie "Bull" Allen before listening to the song.
Challenge Accepted!
I think a song you might like is the Tale of Cu Chulainn by Miracle of Sound.
I will have to check it out

you should also listen to "no bullets fly". It's a story were a heavily damaged b-17 bomber was escorted back to friendly lines by a German pilot. Which shows that even though the nazis were bad, all of the German soldiers weren't indoctrinated and only fought for what they thought was their country.
On agenda for todays release 🎄🎄🤘😎🤘🎄🎄
Y una cancion sobre las bombas atomicas arrojadas sobre japon??
Que raro que nadie ae refiera a eso.

Do a soldier of three armies
It’s weird to hear a song that makes me both sad and angry. Beyond sad and mournful for the victims, and beyond angry at the monsters that did this to them. The only thing that should be exterminated is the idea that one group is superior to another.

fun fact when the song sings "the final solution" that was the last thing in Hitler's plan i suggest you look it up.
look up WW2 Hitler the final stilton
No the full phrase should be
The Final Solution to the Jewish question
It's not a song your supposed to rock out to... People kept doing it live in there shows so they stopped performing it live as they found it disrespectful that thousands fans were head banging to a song about 6+ million been murdered.
Nobody is rocking out to the 6+ million murders, it is rocking out to Sabatons instruments, their music, which still makes you bob your head regardless of the subject. Interesting fact though thanks for watching 💪💪
Great song, the comments on the song though about history.... bad
This is a song, that Sabaton does not play live anymore, because they find it inappropriate to rock out to this song.
And you really need to do a reaction to Sabaton Inmate 4859 - A true Polish Hero, with a story you won't believe. The things he did was out of this world, to tell the world about the horrors that went on in camps, what he did in there and after.
Was an amazing song!
Please do not try to equate the Holocaust with the current U.S political climate. I know it might be scary, but... The Holocaust had babies being starved, killed, tortured. entire villages raped, tortured and killed.... Please do stop that. I know one must always remain vigilant. Just do not throw that so lightly around. :) (I am mostly talking to the guy on the left.)
It wasn’t the German army
Like usa now....
