I watched your video, ordered the three belts, and then followed your video to replace the belts in my Sony CDP-CX300 purchased in 1999 for $300 + tax. It is now working flawlessly. Your step-by-step video had just the right amount of detail. My CX300 had over 150 discs which I removed, and its carousel was not positioned at its 1 position. When I put the carousel back, I set it at position 1 and the CX-300 recognized and accepted it and displayed the name of the CD (I had entered the CD names from a keyboard). Now I just need to put the CDs in the carousel in their original named order. I am ordering another set of belts for a future replacement. We want this CX300 to still be working twenty years from now.
Hi Jim, Glad my video helped. Unfortunately my player worked briefly until the laser unit crapped out. I deemed it too much trouble to try and locate a replacement laser and try to adjust and align it, so I bought a portable music player that would store all of my 365 CD's in FLAC format. With FLAC format the sound is CD quality.
Thanks for the great video.. my cd player quit, I took the top cover off and saw a loose belt in the back. Found this video and learned about the door belt from you. Glad I saw it. Probably saved me some heart ache. CHEERS!
Did it last night, took less than an hour. It actually took longer to load the cd's back in. Also, I was so confident I could do it after watching your video, I had a beer (ok 2) while making the repair. loved your insight on the short cuts.. thanks again, Good Sir!
Great advice. Discovered it is easier to start reattach the door bracket is while the door is open, when slot is close to being in, then close the door and do a final fit….
I found another video and it's a lot easier just to take a back off without removing anything else! And you can replace the belts not disconnecting anything
Thanks a lot for this video! I have a DVD changer with bad belts and thankfully it is pretty close to the same way. I got my Cd changer and it worked but had a stuck rca plug broken off inside the right input jack on the back. I got it out and now want to change the belts even though it works fine. I will be using this video for it! I would like to ask for a suggestion. On my Sony CDP-CX210 unit the door opens but when i close it, it doesn't let the door close. If i push the open button i can close the door. I am thinking a spring maybe?
Anthony, thank you for the nice comment. I can't help you with your problem of the door not closing. I only was able to replace my belts after watching the video of the guy I mentioned. After I replaced my belts the laser went bad in my changer. I threw the changer into the electronic recycling and converted all 365 CD's into FLAC format and loaded them all onto a portable digital player. Good Luck.
I have the 400 cd version but it looks different to the one in your video, my unit has 2 bars on the top and a circuit board too. I emptied out the discs and the belts at the back are very slack. I could probably do this myself but not so sure about the process for the front door mechanism.
@@astrorad2000 thanks for posting the video, it was interesting to see what’s involved as it were. I will have to persevere to get my unit sorted so that’s my job for 2024 as it were. I wish you a pleasant Christmas and a good new year.
I have replaced the belts on many but now I have one where I changed the belts and now the carousel just continually searches back and forth and will not stop. What do I do to fix this?
@@astrorad2000 ok thank you . I wish I just had a visual of what the inside is supposed to look like to try to fix it. I took the top off and have it exposed but don’t know
Here is a link to the hugeshows video showing how to do this job with disc in the player...much more detail than my video. czcams.com/video/TO1fbzXWgIs/video.html

Thanks for your video. I used it to change CDP-CX300 belts.
Great job sir! I’m fixing mine right now and I’m just waiting for the parts to come in. Many thanks to you.👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant, easy to understand, simple guide….Well done!!!!!😊
My CDP-CX300 has 3 stretched out belts, so this is just what I needed. Thanks.
Worked perfectly. Took my time and still only took about an hour. Thank you very much for this lifesaving video!
after i replaced the belts the laser died so I scrapped the damn thing and converted all my 400 CDs to FLAC files
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 I would have been pissed.

Thank you! Thank you! Just replaced the three belts and my player is back in action!
I USED RUBBER BANDS TO REPLACE THE BELT WORKED LIKE A CHARM
I will be doing this in a week or so. Thank you.
Nice job.

I'm sorry that I can't help you. I don't have my 300 disc player anymore. Maybe you can find another video that deals with your 400 disc unit.

I have no idea how to do that.
Hi there , I was wondering if you could walk me through fixing the open button on a CDP-CX250 . Hope to hear from you. Be well! 🤞🏾
I never repaired the open button so I really couldn't tell you how to do it.

And where do I buy the belts??
go to link in the comment just before yours and watch that video...I think he tells where to buy the belts.

STOP! Just remove the Back Cover to Replace any Belts, Motors, or Switches.
i threw the player in the trash after the laser crapped out
