Finn Sailboat rigging basics: boom vang

The vang control line is not pulled. The vang arms on the boom are back against the boom. The vang should only get tighter from this point as you pull the vang control line. Please let me know if there is still a question.

Hello,
Just to confirm, you have the kicker/vang set to your forearms length off the deck - but is that with the kicker/vang off or on?
It looks to be off - but wanted to be sure.
