It’s strange you’re Studio is making noticeable fan noise. Maxing mine out I still can’t hear it until I get close to it.

Was looking for this specific experience! I will receive my Mac Studio M1 Max in two days. I’m upgrading from an iMac 2017 i7 7700K, 64GB, Radeon Pro 580 8GB. I’m really excited to edit without all the headaches and constant fan sounds.

I think it's odd... what are you doing with your Mac Studio? My Studio is almost silent. I can't hear it unless I press my ear on the chassis....

Thanks for the review. It would have been useful if you’d provided some audio of the fan noise that you’re complaining about.

People said they wanted a pop filter on the mic, this was the only one I had :D

That's odd that you're getting fan noise. My Mac Studio is completely silent at idle. I've had it since launch, and I've never heard the fans in it at all.

Agreed, fan noise is not an issue for me. mine is constantly in “whisper mode” ie fans always on but so low I can’t hear it. I do medium and occasionally some more heavy video editing and animation and I don’t think I’ve EVER heard the fan. Mine is a base Max with 2TB hd by the way.

In contrast my i9 MBP 16 sounds like a jet engine when rendering 4K. My M1 Mac mini 16/256 is near silent, a fraction of the price and can drive a Studio display (nano in my case) and a Dell P2715Q. My MBP13 16/256 from work is also very quiet.
Most of the Studio box is for airflow and fans when you see a cut away diagram.

Great review! Your video is in 4k but still looks like 480p.

You defo have a dodgy unit. Mines is completely silent under full load.

100th like. Yeww. Funny about the fan noise - maybe because of the 64gb of RAM? I have the 32 of RAM an 2TB and fan has never turned on - has only gotten ‘warm’ a few times.

You do not know how “ram” works on Mac, if you say so 2:40 😅
