  • Linstead is a town in the parish of St. Catherine, Jamaica in the West Indies. In 1991 its population was 14,144. It is located 12 mi/19 km NNW of Spanish Town (St. Catherine’s capital) and 14 miles NNW of Kingston (Jamaica’s capital). The town of Linstead is SWS of St. Ann’s Bay and a mountainous drive to picturesque Ocho Rios and Dunn’s River Falls.

    Description
    Linstead is located at the bottom of Ewarton and Windalco Ewarton works, a large aluminum plant employing many of the local population. Often employing a job share scheme as work in the area is scarce. It holds a Grand Market celebration each Christmas Eve when people come out and fill the streets, small shops sell toys and other Christmas gifts and events and parties are held in the square. It was popularized in the song Linstead Market.

    Beautiful vegetable, look so fresh, bokchoy alone in the store is about $6 for one bunch, that a lot of veg for the amount.

    Shan $13 US couldn't buy so much food,is last week a told one of my friend in New York the ground provision in Jamaica cheaper than in America. Thanks for the video

      The food price in Jamaica is way more expensive than England. Any supermarket in America is cheaper than that for vegetables.

    Plz remember people have to plant and they need to make a profit. .. some people spend thousands for clothes and bags but complain when they have to buy food. … clothes can be recycled , food cannot. !! Prioritize. !!

    There is no way $13.61USD would buy you so much ground food and vegetables. It is far cheaper in Jamaica and I bet most is organic. Imported stuff in JA is a bit more expensive. People with low income in Jamaica should shop in the market from their own local people and stop compare foreign countries to the economy in Jamaica. Good food is Not cheap in the USA.     Miss shan zen a very good haul food is very expensive in England prices goes weekly and that's a bargain you got there for 2300 dollars that's a total of £12 and a few pence in English money I live in the and that's a bargain for Jamaica our people like to put down Jamaica and always compare Jamaica to the USA or UK we are not on par with these countries these countries have many faults like wise Ja

    Westmoreland is so expensive. You get far more for your money than you would get in Florida or Westmoreland.
    I might have to resettle in Linstead.

    Vegetables are expensive now but Linstead market is still a little cheaper than Ocho Rios Can you imagine Sweet potato selling for $300 per pound but I understand when the stuff short the prices always go up

    What is unoo problem high price is every where it is a global issue i used to pat 95 cents for one doz eggs in america now it is 5 dollars tor the same doz white eggs not even talking about the natural one or the brown ones so when the show off jamaican come to jamaican comparing price in ja high price is every where so get ready for higher price one of the 4 horse have a scale it means food shortage.
