- You asked for it, so here it is! The second part of my Nord Rack tutorial series. You'll learn all the advanced features in this video. (Except for the Drum Mode, which I'll cover in a separate video soon). The Nord Rack 2 really is a powerful synthesizer, there aren't many synthesizers that can match it's extensive set of features, even to this day.
Here's the Nord Drums video:
• Nord Rack 2 Percussion...
And here's my latest Nord Bassline Tutorial:
• Let's make some Fat Ba...

Super helpful! Thank you very much!!!
Layering sounds is awesome to create amazing textures with nords !
Thanks! I always found this architecture a bit confusing. Very helpful!
Thanks. This video helped me alot. 🎉
I have the Nord lead One and i Will take that ❤
Also really raw, great synth!
Legend thank you
Thank you so much for this video. Learning about these features on the NL2 turned it from a cool synth to an absolutely fantastic one. There were a few moments in the video that just made me laugh with joy about the possibilities that are opened up
Awesome I'm glad to hear that! 😁
Thanks - the video is incredibly helpful and together with the other videos in your series, should be a great resource for people who have this synth. The expression pedal control features of this synth that you mention are great, and expression is a cool way that older synths that have it can be patched into a modern Eurorack setup using either modules that interface CV to expression like ALM SBG or doing the measurements yourself and setting the correct control voltages with attenuators. Many of the other features of this synth that you showcased, like velocity morph, and the filter trigger are really interesting and create a deep musical instrument. Looking forward to the third video on the drum features
Yeah that's right! I have yet to try this, but I also expect guitar pedals can be modulated in the same way. Thanks for remind me! 😀
@@optoproductions That's Right - anything with expression pedal will interact with your eurorack modular system. It's great - sadly only some of the vintage equpment has EXP inputs. But many pedals made today have the EXP input too so they can work with modular - very cool ways to interface the new and the old gear.
Amazing video. Can you please let me know how to return the synth to the factory settings? I got mine from a second hand and I'd love to have it in the original version. Would be super helpful.
The factory presets are located in performace bank L. Just store them to programs 1-40.
Amazing video. Could you please let me know how to restore and return to the factory settings? I got mine from a second hand and would love to have it exactly like it came from factory.
Hi, I'm afraid it's not so easy - you need to load data from Clavia pages using sequencer or something like this. See manual.
Nice tutorial!!
Im trying to get works the filter trigger envelope and I cannot … I’m trying to do the way you do but I cannot get working … my sequencer is the octatrack.
You could try to set the global MIDI channel to a different channel, sometimes it interferes. I recently couldn't use my pitchbend and modwheel because the global channel overlapped with another channel.
whish they do a new nordrack with a step sequencer , easy syncable lfos and an analog filter
Yeah I agree, there's definitely a market for it.
Thanks for the video!
i have this problem:
Nord Rack 2 is sending midi CC but not recieving Midi CC. (in the settings it is set "C.on" - same as in your video)
BTW - can you share the manual?
Are you sending to the correct channel? You can find the manual online by googling, I can't share files here.
@@optoproductions yes correct channel. Number 1. Global channel also number 1. There’s no manual online. I found one for nord lead 2. But on gearspace someone said that manuals are different.
Anyway, is there an additional setting to recieve midi cc? (besides “c.on”)
@@ticketstomars the nord lead 2 manual is the same. I would try a different channel, I remember having it on the same channel as global could give issues in some situations.
@@optoproductions the lead 2x manual (the only one i could found) say these:
I don't see these "1" and "-"in the setting
From the MANUAL:
To switch between the three different parameters, press the Prog/Ctrl button. The left character in the
display switches between “P” (Program), “C” (Control) and “A” (Arpeggio).
For the two first parameters (“P” and “C”) you use the Program Select buttons to switch between “-” and
“1”. The “-” value means that no data of that type is transmitted or received. “1” means that type of data
is both transmitted and received.
