I think the best example of backwards compatibility is the I/O processor on the PS2. The fact that it's an entire PS1 SOC is pure genius. The story of how a junior engineer was tasked with the PS1 BC to work on the PS2 was very interesting
I'm really happy that emulation is always evolving with the advent of 4K emulators like DuckStation

Emulation is basically an IQ test and I failed it.
Not sure if this is related to emulation and more of a doftware issue but I'm curious if the old games graphics have been modded to match what we see on CRTs. A lot of games utilused dithering on old TVs to correct for limitations but now they look like shit on modern TVs. So I'm wondering that has been corrected for also in the emulation process.
Any engineering people out there hit me up lets get a team together to make a jaguar clone console, and release to public.

Suppose there is a game and there is a pc version is of it and an emulated ps2 version will ps2 version be harder to play?????
Are not consoles on a chip "hardware emulation" too?
Well, I would think so.
If they are emulating processing of the original components with different hardware, then yes! Hardware/Software co-design for emulation is necessary for that.

@@ZygalStudios I'm not an expert on making thumbnails and youtube videos. But I consume a lot of youtube.
And I'm not sure if i'm gonna point you in the right direction so don't take my criticism too hard.
from what i've observed is that. the background picture of the whole thumbnail is good. But the color choice for the font makes the whole thing off putting. plus the whole schematic diagram in the middle makes me all confused.
again this is just coming from me.

I'm just carious as to why their is no good emulator for the N64. You have PS1 and PS2 emulators that do circles around the N64 emulator.
but their service sucks your limited to very few games or its region locked still
