Freddie struggled with this song live mostly because his voice was fried by the time he got to it. You have to find the ones that weren’t touched up and edited by the studio in post. He REALLY struggled on the last high note in one of them.

Yes, Tom s performance here was not as great as the one with Brian and Roger in 2010, but you have to bear in mind this guy has been an addict since he was 20 until 35, being cocaine abuse his main problem. His 2nd major meltdown (the first was in 2006) in 2014/2015 (drug binging) almost killed hi. And he did not only survive, but also kept his voice. The thing here is that he had been sober for a few months, and he still had to reeducate his voice. Listen to other peformances of Queen or Keane from more recent years and you ll see a notorious difference (of course, you may or may not like his style, but that this guy has a great voice today, and back in 2010 and before, and quite acceptable in the years in between is undeniable as I see it.
