Same .. we are the same ... It amazes me how greedy the birds are... I watch and watch whole night sleepless just pondering how greedy they are and it iritates me alooottttt
The larger chick was the one taken. Surprisingly the smaller chick isn’t even injured, looks like it flattened itself down into bottom of the nest under the larger chick. 😮
The “moral” of this story is sometimes it pays to be the runt! I don’t know about bird attention spans, or if they think ahead, remember things clearly; probably not .. but just imagine if the mother was eventually going to kick the small chick out of the best, to give the stronger one all her attention. Or really, more commonly, the larger sibling often does this as it gets stronger (simply out of natural, survival-based selfishness). It’s very common in birds and other animals too. Survival of the fittest from the early days! But not here! The bigger chick was a bigger meal! And it’s crazy how so many birds are fixated on eyes! What is that? That was the first thing the raptor went for! You hear about cross pecking peoples eyes out, the movie “The Birds” for example…

@@lavosier2 I was just about to provide that link, so thank you for beating me to it. I don't like those who edit someone else's vid to claim as their own. All this guy did was mirror the footage and cut it off at 2:30 and spliced on the ending where it flies off, so you don't see the graphic parts. The hawk removes the birds beak, then the top of its head and surprisingly it remains animate. With no dome, all you see is a tongue protruding from the neck area still trying to scream lol
I don’t think you understand how Mother Nature works. Take a biology class and stop expecting real life to be like a Disney film. Birds don’t possess human emotions. It’s ridiculous to expect them to have an awareness of abstract concepts like cowardice. They do everything by instinct and what is likely to ensure the success of a species. Would it make sense for the parent to try and fight off a powerful apex predator like that raptor? It makes far more sense to escape to a new nest and try again.
Please remain calm while being eaten by falcon. And the other shit only thinks of pigging itself when the other one is rapted. Not even paralysed with fear.

2:15 Look, it's still wanting to be fed despite being eaten itself... A baby bird's greed never ceases to amaze me!!!!! Amazing!!!!
The chick isnt wanting to be fed, he is agonal breathing. he is starting to die. The falcons claws probably punctured into the body.

Usually not. These videos indicate the runts are often killed and/or thrown out of the nests by their parents ("brood management").
Luar biasa kawanku

What is this giant predatory bird?
Falcon
How sad people... I hope he survived... he didn't want to die

Poor bird! nature is so cruel!😭
It’s beautiful. Seeing baby birds ripped apart makes me nut
The same thing is true for humans. We are constantly outsmarting each other in many ways.

At least birds are intelligent that they mostly prey on offsprings unlike human who kill adult there by endangering species.

Cruel animal world. They see each other smaller one as a meal, except for some parent birds.
Humans do they own life
Bird do they own life tho
Right.

Live another day, lay another egg.
Why would you judge an animal behaviour based on human morals?
What can it do to the giant?
It's completely incapable of helping and only risks becoming the next meal, which helps nothing...

Even the eagle's chicks are eaten by a bigger bird in the same time, maybe.
