The crow wont forget the nest is there. It will keep coming back until they are gone. Some times they will discover birds buiilding a nest and wait to attack until the chicks are larger
Consider that any nest building, brooding, especially feeding requires many many trips back and forth. It's no surprise predators know where to go, they don't have to search at all. They have great eyesight (as do most birds). They really don't have to wait for an opportunity because it can easily 'neutralize' the robin, which would doom the nest anyway, with no opportunity to breed again.
That's a natural food chain proces. Cant help. It happens. Jus accept.

. Quite right. Nesting season is a time of high mortality rates for all birds. The crow may also have been an uncle or aunt, brother or sister to the actual parents. Where I live, there are many family units like this, not parents themselves, but supporting parents in the family providing food and protection. And crows also fall victim to other flesh eaters like red tail hawks which have been increasing in number here since the mid 80s. We also had a huge die off of crows from the west Nile illness, and have been slowly coming back.
Robins don't cry, that's their alarm call.

Robins in my area gets attack on the daily, blue jay, cardinals, crow, and even hawk let alone thise small sparrows brown, grey, black, found a teen bird in my yard, didnt do anything, came back out few hours later it was dead, my chicken attacked it lmao dont mess with broody mother chicken

No podría decir que es muy triste lo sucedido porque terminaría siendo un doble moral, ya que para alimentar a esos polluelos los mismos padres también tuvieron que depredar insectos que también terminan siendo seres vivos que terminaron con una vida truncada. Solamente queda decir que así es la naturaleza.
Tienes razón. La naturaleza es un ciclo de supervivencia y equilibrio, donde cada criatura tiene un papel. Es difícil de ver, pero así es como el ecosistema se mantiene interconectado.

First, there was nothing the people making these videos could have done! They are not responsible because they put cameras up! This has been going on a lot longer than people have been around and especially cameras! As a small child I was a bird enthusiast and paid attention to every bird there was. At that time, there were no such thing as cameras that you could watch nature like you so easily can do today! I would read books, check out nests and also watched the activities of birds. Not only Crows and other bigger birds, but even Blue Jays and Grackles would rob the nests of others, especially robins! Stop and think about what animals produce the most offspring at one time. Robins generally have as many as 5 babies at one time and even more in some cases. They also will have several clutches of eggs during a typical season. Most of the animals that are on everybody else's menu tend to have many babies to make up for the loss. Mice and Rabbits being just a couple of the other examples. Let's not forget about species of fish that have thousands of babies at one time! All of these animals have such huge amounts of offspring to offset the realities of the young being eaten by other animals. Look at all of the ways sea turtles have evolved to help sustain the species! Even with all of that, there is still fewer than one in a thousand that reaches breeding age!!
These people could do nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prevent this from happening!! They should not be made to feel guilty of something they could not have prevented. All they did was share raw nature with all of us. They didn't HAVE to show us this video. I'm grateful to them for showing the realities of nature. There are two basic NEEDS in nature:
1. Food!
2. Procreation!
And nature has given each one the best to survive. The one thing nature has NOT been able to compensate for is human evolution! Humans are like mold on an Orange! We use up everything until there is nothing left!! So trying to tell these people they are in some way at fault because they put up cameras to see this happen is crazy thinking!! It is NOT their fault in any way, shape or form!!
The only thing they had left was to pray for better luck next time, and we all know what praying does!! Absolutely nothing! It just makes those saying the prayers feel like they are doing "something" in a situation they are totally helpless in changing. It's human nature to WANT to be able to do "something", "anything" when confronted with something they cannot make better. Things die. People die. Saying a prayer does not change these things. When my wife passed away from cancer, people prayed for her, over a thousand prayers were said for her! She still died. Those who say they say prayers to help others should actually DO something to REALLY help!! If they know of someone who is in need of something, HELP THEM!! Don't just say a prayer and make yourself think you've done all you can. Prayers are for lazy people who really WANT to think they are doing something, without REALLY HAVING to do anything!! Praying only helps those saying the prayers to feel like they've done something!

Bird box so crows can't get in but robins can.
Good suggestion 🫡🫡🫡… though it might not work. Robins don’t build their nests in a box. They always build it in an open space. The only possible way I could think of is build the box afterwards. But then, they could abandon the site if too much intervention… 🥹 just my thought.
@@ChipmunkDanbi Apparently one that's open-fronted will be used by robins. The more popular ones with just a round hole won't be used. I guess this could be a bit safer than just the open one shown here.

The nest was down shortly after the incident. However, we have some good news: our camera captured the adults around chicks with baby feathers, who recently fledged. We believe they were successful this year. 😍

What I have learned is that they do not reuse the same site. This year, I could tell they built their nest high in a tree in the backyard. They are very aggressive toward other birds like bluejays (see my Short titled 'Robin’s Attack') and chase them away, showing how protective they are of their young ones. We also observed a parent near one of the recently fledged chicks, which came to the upper deck where we put sunflower seeds for other birds. While robins do not eat sunflower seeds, this chick was probably curious about them. In other words, we believe the robins have been successful this year."

This is so sad. Because crows are said to be the smartest bird in intelligence. But they always view other birds as their prey, including Robins.😳😭🥲 it tears my heart into billions of pieces.

As sad as it may seem no they really shouldn't have interfered. This is real nature. The crow probably has a nest on his own and the parents will just make a new nest. Also in most cases bird parents don't fight for their chicks they usually try to save their own life first because there's always a chance for a new nest.
