There you have it! As all of you asked, I put my new 2020 Shelby GT500 onto a a dyno in order to find out just how much horsepower this car really makes! The runs were performed in 4th gear, the 1:1 ratio gear. Torque results will come out in a future video!

@Chuck Taylor It's a DCT so drivetrain loss is 10% so it should be about 680whp they showed numbers in STD not SAE so it's about right

I’m a Dodge Guy, but I’m pretty impressed with the car and how it’s able to get off the line with little to no spinning! This is what caught my attention, and also the dyno numbers were honestly impressive too. Ford congratulations on this one.
Why isn't there a large fan blowing into the front of the car? The wall mounted fans don't look adequate IMO. Car may have been getting heat soaked after a few pulls without fresh air blowing over the coolers/exchangers. Great video, I think the car is amazing!

I said this before. A tune, pulley and tires. A "upper to mid 9 second" Mustang. Ford is notorious for underrating their engines, so 800+ wouldn't surprise me. I have to add. That exhaust sound is amazing

I am so glad you got this car as early as you did! We got to see the dealership install the splitter and wickers and the thing on the end of the spoiler, and oil catch cans, taking off the rain tray etc..., then you took it straight to a drag strip for the 10.66 1/4 mile, and today, finding out what the REAL BHP is!!!! I love it, over 800 horses are under that hood!

Theyre known to do that because they got sued back in early 2000 overrating one of there Cobra mustangs. I think it was the 01. My terminator Cobra is know to be underrated @ 390. Its more in the range of 420 to 440.

I'm willing to bet around 785-790. That DCT has lower loss, say ~10%. That puts it right in that range.
705hp × 1.15 = 811hp. Very impressive. Even at 10% low drivetrain loss: 705hp × 1.10 = 775hp. Which is still underrated. It great to see these numbers! It is very interesting to see it makes very close to the Demon's horsepower rating on pump gas dispite being one whole liter displacement less, and you still have room for improvements?! Well done Ford!

People still don’t get it. The car isn’t underrated. It has a severely clean drivetrain. It has a super light flywheel, carbon fiber driveshaft, DCT, and the least rotational mass of any “muscle car” ever produced. The car is just not waisting the power it has and they geared it damn near perfectly apparently as it launches with just enough power to get out then tries to throw the tires off lol.
