This episode begins at Beaver Dam located just nine miles west of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The tailwater of Beaver Dam is part of the White River system and is one of my favorite Ozark tailwater fisheries. Just eight miles long it is heavily stocked with rainbows and brown trout like many other Arkansas and Missouri tailwaters.
The tailwaters is easily wadable in many places when the water is low, but when the dam is generating and the water is high it’s almost impossible to wade and can be extremely dangerous. It’s very important to keep a close eye on the water levels when you are wading and exit the water immediately if the dam horn is sounded.
There are a few different public access points. Below you’ll find my two drop in points for this episode. When visiting, please remember your responsibilities as an ethical angler. Obey fishing laws. Carry out all trash. Avoid trespassing on private land adjacent the streams. Leave no signs of your visits.

Great video bud! I’m glad I found your channel, I have fished the Greers Ferry and Bull Shoals/Norfork tail waters for around 40 years and have never even thought about Beaver tail waters having trout. 🤦‍♂️

Great video. I'm planning a trip to fish the White River. Gonna pull my camper up from Alabama. I've fished some good rivers out west the last few years. Miracle Mile, Flathead River and various spots in Yellowstone NP. White River is on my list next.

Awesome day on the water! My thoughts on the missed fish? I think I was setting the hook by pulling straight up between 10 and 2 o’clock position. I think if I would have set the hook to the side below 10 and 2 I would have seen better results. Let me know your thoughts. Also keeping the rod lower instead of high sticking while retrieving. Basically I believe I was pulling the hook up and out. Thanks for watching!

Hey would you mind sharing with me your top 10 flies or as many as you or anybody else wants to list. I just found out that a older gentleman neighbor ties flys and he said if I would get a good list for the beaver tail waters he would tie them up for me. Any information would be grateful! Are you from Arkansas or Missouri? I’m from Oklahoma and beaver tail water and roaring river are both about two hours and I’m trying to get into this sport.

Thanks for the video. I'm from Tulsa area and fish below bull shoals quite a bit. Little longer drive. I have always wondered about Beaver tailwaters and its a lot closer for me. I will definitely venture over now to try it out. Another point. I noticed you had a moonshine rod. I've heard a lot about them and looked at one. Any good review on the moonshine rod? What type you have. Drifter? Vesper?

Hello Derek thanks for watching and yes I encourage you to check out Beaver tailwater it’s an amazing fishery. Never had lots of luck with dry flies down there but check out this video on how I setup for Beaver during low conditions.
      czcams.com/video/AnsU4IpPKgA/video.html
In regards to Moonshine rods I have 3 Drifter rods and 1 Outcast. Amazing rods for the money. My 4wt is my go to rod and have run with that rod for 2 seasons with no issues, comfortable medium action that fits me perfectly.
If you wanted to try before you buy we are having a “Meet and Greet” at Roaring River on Nov 13. Find us on Facebook and join us for our event. Which is opening weekend of catch and release.
