  • Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His outer garments and made four parts, a part to every soldier and also the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece. So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be”; this was to fulfill the Scripture: “THEY DIVIDED MY OUTER GARMENTS AMONG THEM, AND FOR MY CLOTHING THEY CAST LOTS.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
    But standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.

    Amazon has for $450. You're making me consider this for the novelty of a Benchmade with perfect centering and no blade play. Thanks for showing. Happy Easter AP, *He is Risen!*

    I wish there were more people on CZcams like you who don't don't Bible reviews and stuff like that, but still let their viewers know that they are Christian through their character and the way they carry themselves. Thank you for another great review.

    You worked on one of these for me a year or so ago. Best action I've ever seen on a Benchmade so I've really enjoyed it. No issues at all.

    I have one of these! #152. Its e
    Incredible. It was given to me by a wealthy older gentleman in exchange for sharpening about 20 of his benchmade knives. Well worth the time and effort. And effort is a big part of it considering most of the knives had horrible chips in the blade and were dirty. I made them all look brand new and a great mirror polished edge he couldn't believe it. I wish he had the box and paperwork for the Stryker II though but oh well

    Never would have bought this for myself, but got one for Christmas and boy was I happy! Like it so much I bought the basic Stryker 2 to carry and beat on. Love that one too! And don't see any difference from forking over that kind of money to Strider which I have done twice...Happy Easter!

    no offence but for that price it should have an edge just like the one you put right out of the factory....

    I love my 908-161. I carry it alot as pocket jewelry/light use next to my beater which is usually a tenacious/mini-grip/delica. Got an awesome steal of a price on the secondary because it was missing the box/paperwork, but it came with the most important part which of course was the gold letter sleeve hahah. Because i carry it i wasnt worried about the paperwork.

    I own #880. Difference in the innerbox (mine is like a double sided magnet glasses holder) but otherwise the same beautiful knife you need to hold in hand to be appreciated. Cool thing is yours being on dec/30 of the only year they made (2016) them as a unlimited gold class would make your particular knife one of the very last made!

    Should have used anodized red titanium liners, black coated steel liners are not so good but heavy.

    really pretty knife. i have a small stryker and a large one love them incl 154 cm this one too much money for me but really nice. i wish benchmade would revist the springs my small one is going home for new ones. for me the cost of owning axis locks but as i own a few that serve as backups i have learned to live with it.

    Great review, as always. I have owned about 10 Gold Class Benchmade knives and I will say the quality of the fit/finish is a gamble. Some are close to perfect, while others have been down right pitiful. I will probably still pick up another, if I find one worthy enough. :)

  • @ctaber2011

    I picked up one of these when they came out, haven't even done anything to it except fondle it. I guess I should trade it for something I will use. Very nice knife and good review Rob! They go for like $400-$450 right now. I want a 0850 but they seem to be sold out, they say a big run is coming though.

    Excellent review Rob. Derrick must think your positive review will create demand for the Stryker II. KnivesShipFree has 46 of them in stock. Wouldn't mind having one, though my 940 with your edge and tune up is probably more practical. However, being practical ain't the reason for the Stryker II is it.

      You're not coveting his or _your neighbor's,_ so it's ok. You just want a new one and are willing to make a fair exchange. Always Matthew 6:19, then move on from there.

    The Benchmade Rukus knife I have is a few years old but has hardly had any use, the axis has weakened so that you only have to touch the bar back about 1 m.m. to disengage the lock. I'm sure even the vibration from heavy chopping or similar use would disengage the lock. I really like the design of some Benchmades ( such as the one in this video) but wouldn't buy another axis lock knife.

    It looks cool. I own the 908 Stryker in 154CM steel and G10 scale and it is not all great. It has side to side blade play and the ergonomics are not very good. I would never pay $500 or more for such a knife. There are far many deserving blades out there that outclass this knife.

    Are the gold class knives actually made to higher standards or are they made with the same spotty quality as the other classes, just with higher quality materials?

    • @sheepborg
      @sheepborg Před 7 lety +1

      Yes and no. The truly limited ones are, but not necessarily true for the unlimited ones such as this striker or others. I was not enamored with the 940-121 gold class that I had, Though an m4 940 would be compelling in its own right.

    • @natsyrtm4223
      @natsyrtm4223 Před 7 lety +1

      they are just made with higher quality control and with nicer looking materials. not higher functioning materials. they are made to look damn fine and that they do. s90v will beat that Damascus. as will a quite a few of benchmades used steels they simply look amazing is all. they are the aesthetic masterpieces they are... to edc one u would either have to have alot of money or just not give a shit... the normal class with higher quality steel would be a better user for sure.

      natsyrt m I edc mine with no issues. sturdy knife, good steel, holds its edge for a long time, and looks fantastic. Also I don't abuse it though so it suits my purposes for EDC.

    Hi Rob. I'm looking for some Benchmade advice. I have a Crooked River with a ton of side to side play. Just sent to Benchmade for the second time. My question is should this knife have to be so tight on the pivot that it doesn't drop AT ALL when closing to, sadly , merely lessen the horizontal play?

    • @cameronwilliams4149
      @cameronwilliams4149 Před 7 lety

      Mark Messore it shouldn't, you have a defective model. I would recommend just getting something else that is more proven

      It's my first,and quite possibly last, Benchmade. I liked the overall look of the knife, big fan of Bowie style drop point blade shape. Should probably have just gone with a 940.

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  Před 7 lety

      That shouldn't be. I've had difficulty making the action really good on coated blade Axis Lock models, but on this one, if you can't get it right with a light washer polishing, there's something wrong with it.
