The song was written by Jasha Klebe (the Alain normally isn't used) and he co-writes the music for BBC/Nat Geo documentaries. Part of the instrumental version of this song was used in the National Geographic Explorer: Faces of Death documentary. This is obviously the original with lyrics, both were fromhis personal album Cirque Noir which looks like it was unreleased but can be listened to on some sites. Also, he worked with Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean composer) and the other co-composer of the Nat Geo docs, Jacob Shea on the Planet Earth II soundtrack.
