    My wife showeyme a lil trick for getting behind radiators is to lift it off and tilt it back lay on your tool box as my top half my tool box comes off it was good height to rest the radiator on now i get better finish when am wallpapering behind rads

      Not every radiator will do that.
      Also I never touch them in case you corse leaks. Some things are best left alone and deal with it as is. Can be quicker and definitely no hiccups. Thanks

    I stupidly boxed in my kitchen radiator with units, there is a gap but only about 30cm. If I use radiator foil behind the radiator, and also at the side of the base cupboard, will this allow heat to come out of the opening?

    What about double sided foil insulation? One side is even other with the layer of aliuminium bubbled,

      Kitchen foil will do it's all about reflecting the heat back into the rad. Reducing warm up time helping make the rads more efficient.

      You could also do cardboard lined with kitchen foil. As good as the commercial thing.

    What’s the best type of paint to paint copper radiator pipes oil ? Or water based thanks

    • @PaintingandDecorating
      @PaintingandDecorating  Před 5 lety +1

      You need to use a special metal primer for copper first then it can be painted with any finish paint.

    Any tips for applying foil behind a rad that is under is a window with the sill preventing using a roller? Thanks.

    • @PaintingandDecorating
      @PaintingandDecorating  Před 5 lety +2

      you can try from below or find something that will fit down the back, sometimes small roll of wallpaper flattened will slide down to smooth.

      You don't need a roller just slide it down behind the radiator Put a bit of double sided tape near the top end then push is down just below the top of the radiator so you can't see it ok no need to tape all four sides

  • @TheMamun681

    Can you use regular kitchen foil for this?

    • @PaintingandDecorating
      @PaintingandDecorating  Před rokem

      Not really made for the job.. but at a push you could. Any foil will reflect heat.

      I just watched a video using normal tin foil, but it was stuck onto cardboard for more stability 😁

      normal foil goes dull after a while so not recommended

    Whats the reason behind this?

    • @PaintingandDecorating
      @PaintingandDecorating  Před 5 lety +2

      It speeds up heating radiators also best for exterior walls so the heat is thrown back into the rad rather than the cold wall.
