Of all the documentaries on ayahuasca they seem to have been ignored in the most part.
I am very happy to see their existence so respectfully represented here.
I had an ayahuaska trip 10 years ago in Peru. I am Mexican and went there to the amazonas. I met generous and kind maestro ayahuaaskero who's chants were amazingly healling to me. Don't expect to see beautyful visions by just drinking the brew if you are not ready. The chants and your mental state will do it and the brew is just to help you.
In Australia they are going to use psychedelics for depression
Psychedelics are being studied for treating depression and psychological/psychiatric illness in the US also.
The LAST thing I can imagine being enjoyable is tripping balls in the middle of the Amazon. Life altering? Yes. Enjoyable? God no!

You’re quite correct. I did it in the Amazon for the first time a few months ago. It was life altering. It was extremely hard. However, I don’t regret one minute if it.

Don't miss out the stories of the thousands of young people in my generation who either went mad with paranoia or took their own lives after taking hallucinogenic drugs.
This one isn't like the other drugs that make's someone hallucinate. This is a medicine that shows you your shadows, ego and facilitates healing. It really is 10 years of therapy in one night.
That was just media fearmongering. I have taken LSD and other psychedelic drugs hundreds of times in my younger years and I am just fine.

It is a beautiful thing the was Ayahuasca harmonises religion, science and anthropology for healing.
It’s great to hear the insights from the female Shaman. There’s a real step-change there. A similar thing has happened with the Huni Kuin - a female chief heads things which has also ‘broken’ tradition.

For anyone in the states who is seriously interested in DMT. There are more than a few other channels presenting the information in a different manner. The spiritual connection this culture has is beautiful. This isnt the only path to have an enlightened trip.

a lot of makebelieve stories,(i speak portuguese and this documentary could be 30 min with the same usefull information) if it was a religion would not need "drugs" to survive.
I would caution anyone who is thinking of trying this to ask yourself a question. The shamans make it very clear, that you are opening a spiritual doorway when you go through this ceremony. Do you believe when you open that doorway, that there are only "good" spirits behind that door? Because I can tell you from the King James Bible, that it states that the devil transforms himself into an "angel of light" to deceive people. The shaman complaining about the missionaries is very telling. There are two philosophies at war going on, and only one can prevail. It looks like the missionaries prevailed for a time in reaching the people, but now the people have returned to their paganism. This scenario is played out numerous times in The Old Testament.
I found it ironic, that the shaman despises the missionaries and their God, but yet an image of "Jesus" is at the ceremony. However, the problem is, that is not Jesus, it's the antichrist; that is depicted many times in false "churches" like catholicism. You don't need a drink or a drug to open yourself up to receive God. All one has to do is surrender your pride and come to God with a humble spirit, asking for salvation through the forgiveness of sins.
